Description of Work: Computer repaired. Dell computer crashed four years to the day it was manufactured, and stopped by to find out about repairs at the Intrex store nearby. Thought the $50 diagnosis was a reasonable price, and was told it they would have an answer in a week. On the last day promised, received a call that no hardware issues had been found, but some corrupt o/s files were found, and that a reinstall, saving all my data, would run $113 including the diagnostic cost. Several days later, was called and told the hard drive was indeed failing, and a new drive, installed would cost $100 more, and I agreed, and also agreed to purchase a new $79 external drive as a back up. Heard nothing for another week, finally received a call that the last files were in the process of loading, and it would be ready in an hour. Stopped in two hours later, and it was not ready. Was told just a few minutes more, waited but it did not finish, so had to come back again the next day. Arrived, found a $415 invoice and paid it, then took it home, plugged everything back in, turned it on, and got "Keyboard Failure" stop. Had to go up and retrieve an old wired keyboard, rebooted, and finally got it going. But the transferred data was old data, not the most recent, with "Favorites" from years back. Had e-mail problems, internet problems, mouse and keyboard problems, and it has taken me hours to correct settings, download updated drivers and software, and still having problems with the wireless mouse and keyboard even though I downloaded the current drivers and software. Their return policy would not allow recovery of the cost of the inept work. Honestly, I'm not an IT guy, but I do expect when I pay more for a repair than the cost of a new laptop that the repairs will be effective and that additional problems would not be encountered. All labor costs are "final" and apparently have no warranty or recourse for shoddy work, and a 15 day return period with a 15% restocking fee during the return period. I phoned, and while on hold, read the entire reverse side of the invoice and found that for my $415, if I returned the whole computer and let them have it, I would receive a $68 refund.
