Because of the sale price and the additional discount for a soon-to-be-discontinued model, we got an excellent price on a good mattress and base. They do not have a huge selection of mattresses, but did carry the one I was looking for. The delivery was prompt; however, I noticed a cut in the fabric on the bottom of the base. I called hhgregg and they gave me partial refund rather than change it out. Overall satisfactory experience.

We purchased a washing machine -- picked it up and brought it home and installed it -- it immediately began making loud banging noises--after multiple attempts to fix the issue we contacted the store---we were told that we must return it in its box to the store for a refund, and that was HHGregg policy --- they refused to pick up the item --- ''IF WE SOLD YOU A COMPUTER AND IT WAS DEFECTIVE YOU WOULD HAVE TO BRING IT BACK--WE WOULD NOT SEND SOME ONE OUT TO GET IT''. A computer (or other small appliance) would have been easy to return. A large appliance, which requires extra resources to unload and install, is quite another matter. They obviously do not care about customer service if this is their store policy---we have purchased items from them in the past and referred others---we must have been very lucky they were not defective. I cannot believe that in this economy where stores are struggling that this is their policy. We are very unhappy customers and will never purchase ANYTHING from hhgregg. Do not purchase anything from these stores. On 7/6, we contacted corporate headquarters and were told "yes, that is the policy, and nothing can be changed".
Description of Work: none---no customer service- the correct response should be---we are sorry for any inconvenience---we will come to your house and pick up the washer--we will deliver another washer asap--for no charge--we returned the item on 7/6/2012--we understand that this is not a store manager issue--but a company policy---we still do not understand this--we have ordered appliances from other stores---despite whatever "policy" they have, the issue was resolved without any extra work on the part of the person purchasing the item--we do not expect to have this issue resolved--even though we have spoken with their corporate headquarters---we are sending letters to the board of directors---again we expect no satisfactory response---we hope to warn others of this issue--we have already notified family and friends in other states---they will in turn pass this information along to others--we will NEVER purchase anything from hhgregg stores and our friends and families will do the same.---Please be aware that this is not a local issue but a corporate decision---BUYER BEWARE
