FitzWilliam Land Maintenance

Description of Work: I was searching for someone who could come out and remove the ice/snow from my driveway and walkway (I live alone and have severe arthritis in my knees which prevents me from doing it myself). John said that he could do it and quoted me a price of $200 because he would have to do it "by hand" and not use the plow on his truck. He said he'd be out the next morning. He never showed and never called - when I called him that afternoon, he was extremely non-committal, saying that there was a shortage of ice-melt and that he had jobs in Chapel Hill. He would not definitively say that he would or would not do the job. I told him that I would call around to find someone else, he responded by saying he'd call me back later in the afternoon to see if I was able to find someone - that was the last I heard from him. Perhaps he is more inclined to take big jobs, and it's highly possible that he does well on those - but for my comparatively small job, I found his lack of follow-through to be unprofessional and wish that he had been honest in the beginning and declined.
