Description of Work: Popcorn ceiling removal for entire house. Excellent service from start to finish. Very prompt, professional, and wonderful clean up services afterward. Would definitely refer them to others in search of same service.

Mike Faircloth and his crew of three men exceeded all my expectations. They did an excellent work of removing the popcorn texture from all ceilings throughout my 1320 sq ft house and providing a super smooth surface. The ceiling which had been full of nail pops, cracks, and fallen pieces is now smooth as silk. When Mike came to estimate the job, we walked through each room and he would mention particular problem areas, the cause, and what he would do. The kitchen/breakfast room was of particular concern. It measures about 10' x 21' and was the only room that did not show any of the problems that were so obvious in all the other rooms. Yet, by only looking at the ceiling from several angles, he said this was the worst room. He could tell that whoever did the ceiling did not prepare it properly for the popcorn texture and then painted over the popcorn (and maybe it had been repainted as well). His prediction was right on -- the popcorn was not easily removed. In fact, the crew had to chisel most of it in a very slow and painstaking process, almost inch by inch. Mike admitted that the room had one of the worst ceilings he had ever worked on. Yet, neither he nor any of his crew complained about it. It was part of the job that had to be done. Mike (though he wouldn't say it) is a perfectionist. He was constantly checking his own and the crew's work as it was being done, and he even had a special light that was used to detect even the most minor imperfections. Nothing got past his keen eyes. Mike told me beforehand what I needed to do in preparation, which was not very much. It amounted to little more than removing my two cats from the premises. He and the crew took care of covering all furniture and flooring. When the job was done, the house was actually (and somewhat embarrassingly) cleaner than he found it. On that last day, Mike's wife helped with (did most of) the clean up. Removing the popcorn texture is a very messy job and Laura did an amazing job, even polishing my furniture! Mike, his wife, and the crew were a pleasure to have in my home. They were hardworking, intelligent, polite, and had a nice sense of humor. I really enjoyed talking with them each day. I wholeheartedly recommend Faircloth Drywall to anyone needing drywall or sheetrock work. Popcorn texture requires specialized expertise and this company has that expertise. My ceilings are silky smooth, and I can't imagine how the job could have been done any better or quicker. I am very pleased with every aspect of the work.

James, the head person who did the work, was great! Faircloth just did not have the man power to do the job, which they should have told me about up front. They had two other people that came out occasionally to help out but those workers didn't do the quality that James did. Because of this the work ended up taking twice as long as it was supposed to. Now I'll make sure that a company has the man power to do the job I need done, as one person can't do the whole job by themselves.
Description of Work: I had some renovation work going on. Because of this they ended up re-drywalling most of the house. They did this work from January until the first week of March.

you were informed on contract how long it would take we finished the project in the manner of time cotract stated, sorry about your disapointment
I just wanted to let people know that I talked to Mike a couple times and want to make sure you know that he doesn't seem very interested in doing work. He gave me a "rough estimate" over the phone, an estimate that was completely in line with what I had budgeted. But when I asked him to come take a look and give me a firm estimate, he refused. He acted as if he expected me to hire him over the phone which in my opinion only opens the door for him to walk in and start pointing out all the things he feels I didn't describe sufficiently and then the price goes UP UP UP. I totally felt like I wasted my time. The 2nd time I talked with him on the phone he had someone show up and asked if he could call me back in 5-10 minutes, I said sure. It's been 24 hours and I haven't heard from him. I hired someone else.
Description of Work: I wanted Mike to come give me an estimate to finish my basement. Framing, electrical, insulation, drywall and possibly painting.

Mike did great work. I couldn't have been happier. I expected a major mess from the removal of the one ceiling due to the insulation and was shocked when I got home to find everything amazingly clean. Mike had taken it upon himself to call someone in to clean up which to me, is service above and beyond.
Description of Work: Removed an existing bedroom ceiling completely and installed new sheet rock. Installed new sheet rock in a small bathroom ceiling and butterfly patched a large section of a second bedroom ceiling. Also patched various small cracks due to settlement of the soil, 18 in all.

Mr. Faircloth and three other workers came to my house on July Fourth to fix my dry wall problems. I was very impressed with the work they had done; they were very efficient, and the repaired work was excellent. We are very happy that we found them to fix our problems. Mr. Faircloth even patched a prior repair work that started to crack. The prior work was done by someone else. We are thankful that we found the company through Angie's List.

Very good. Mike is very responsive and knowledgeable takes care with his work. I would recommend calling his cell phone (see picture of his truck on his website for this). He worked with 2 assistants. They used nails to hang the edges of the board and screws for the main parts. They didn't clean up the sanding dust particularly well but I didn't insist on it in advance or ask them to do so at the end (I wasn't home when they finished). Mike is the nephew of Jimmy Holmes, the Drywall Specialist in Pittsboro that is recommended highly on Angie's List. I think he learned the trade working under him. In fact, Jimmy turned down my job because it was too far and suggested Mike. I would gladly hire him again in the future.
Description of Work: I hired Mike to install moisture resistant greenboard drywall in a bathroom that I am renovating. He supplied all materials and hung the drywall, taped it and finished it. A 10 x 6 bathroom was done in about 5 hours. The project was all ready to go for them, studs exposed, no prep, etc. Materials were $150 and labor was $625. This was $100-$125 less than the one other quote that I got.
