Description of Work: I had draperies made and installed in my master bedroom and bathroom. Laura, the designer, was fabulous! She responded quickly to my request and continued to contact me during the project to let me know how everything was going. We met at my house to discuss what I wanted. I was very definate about the style and colors. She asked lots of questions to clarify what I was describing. She returned a few weeks later with a drawing and samples of fabrics. Those were selected and she took measurements of the windows and the bed. She came back a few times before the installation to recheck some figures. On the day of installation she arrived on time and everything was completed in about 2 hours. I had a bay window of 5 windows and two additional bedroom windows. She also carried the theme of the draperies into the bathroom which had two windows. Throughout the whole project, Laura was polite, punctual, and very professional. When she showed me her first drawing I liked it very much. But over the next few days as I kept picturing it, I discovered that there was a piece that didn't feel right to my overall feel for what I wanted. So when we next spoke, I shared that with Laura and she was so great about making the changes I suggested. The draperies she created for me are so beautiful and make my bedroom feel cozy and elegant. Creating that feeling takes a talented person and I would recommend Laura to anyone who wants someone with this special gift!

+ -1 morecontacted them to see if they could help with a room in our home, and the phone went straight to voicemail, only to recieve a phone call back about 3 days later that said "sorry we don't have anyone in your area to help you", which i found odd, since we live in chapel hill and their page said they service chapel hill and surrounding areas, vey disappointing!!

+ -1 moreThe woman I talked to was very responsive and very professional. She was very qualified and very knowledgeable. I was not that comfortable with their pricing structure, I think it was more designed for somebody who wanted to redo a room in their house. I just wanted advice, I wasn't interested in buying a lot of furniture.
Description of Work: I wanted Decorating Den to give me some pointers on how to update things that I have.

+ -1 moreLaura was great. We just moved into a new house and needed help with decorating one of the main rooms in the home. We did not see what we liked in regular furniture stores and were very intrigued by her mailing. Her mailing showed pictures of her work and her own picture, which made us feel that if we called her we would not get an anonymous services. Laura came on time (as she always did) and worked with us for what we wanted for the room. We discussed a price range for the work and gave her a deposit for the design work. In about a week she was back with the completed design which she presented professionally. We were amazed with her selection. It was exactly what we wanted and she had found furniture we had not found anywhere. The price came in at the bottom of our range. Laura priced everything as one price for all the furniture, delivery, decorations, and her design smarts. We knew exactly what we were getting and we thought it was good value for the money. She was great at working with our schedule and the furniture was delivered on time. She personally came back to complete the final look of the room and we are very happy with her work. We will use her again and we strongly recommend her to anyone needing first class design services.
Description of Work: Laura worked with us on the design and decoration of a large room in our home. She acquired the furniture, arranged for delivery, and personally ensured that the finished look of the room was first rate.

+ -1 moreShe was prompt for the visit in our home, and she has been good about following up (without being too pushy). I like the pictures of houses she's done, but there weren't many of them. She gave us names of references, but they had projects that were a difference scope from what we want. In the end, we don't really like the way that her company works; you write a blank check and she does the whole project. We prefer knowing how things break down, etc. Therefore, we didn't have a problem with Laura, but instead with her model.
Description of Work: We got an estimate for interior design from Laura.

Description of Work: Laura came to my new office space and was extremely helpful in choosing wall colors. I was totally lost and did not know what color combinations would work for my office. Laura, came with her color pallets and has a great eye for matching furniture, carpet, etc. with wall color choices. She even helped with furniture placement and I wasn't even thinking about how putting things in the correct space would make a big difference. She was very patient and I am very happy with her service.
