We bought a Cimarron Home in June 2024 in Alamance County. The build quality is excellent. The sales team and construction manager are knowledgeable and pleasant to work with. Their contract is fairer than any of the national builders (Pulte and DR Horton). The reason it is not five stars is because of an issue we had to work through related to the water pipes and the neighbors before closing. We delayed closing for three weeks. Cimarron Homes corrected the issue. We followed through with the purchase. It was a tough situation for all parties, but we resolved it. We appreciate Cimarron Homes's actions. Here are some notable features I like: - Our crawlspace is conditioned, which helps with energy efficiency. - Walk-in closet connects to master bedroom. - Dual sinks in the master bathroom and upstairs bathroom. - Office area. - Zip system used for sheathing and house water-proofing.

Stay away from this home builder! They do not respond to emails, and they are impossible to reach by phone. The company does not stand by its warranty and blames everyone else for their shortcomings. (For instance, Cimarron installed temporary mailboxes on the WRONG side of the street and tried to blame the postal service for not delivering residents’ mail.) if you have any warranty issues or repairs that need to be made, good luck. TERRIBLE, UNSCRUPULOUS COMPANY!
Description of Work: Front door installed incorrectly, damaged window, dented fixtures.

Fail to complete any necessary repair work after completion of home sale. Does not answer phone calls or emails requests for repair work due to poor workmanship. STAY AWAY!!!!
Description of Work: Leaking walls and windows due to windows not being properly sealed on new construction. Land development poorly done and now requires 6-10k for proper drainage system as they did not allow curing prior to concrete slab pour

I don’t normally post negative reviews BUTthese pictures are A MUST SEE before you trust any builder to honor their work and do the right thing by looking out for health & safety of the resident. Especially @cimarronhomes. This is the MESS that they left behind on a “Newly Constructed Home”. Imagine looking out of your window of your Newly Constructed Home and you see this mess! Trash & Debris that was buried in your backyard. They didn’t have the decency to pay the cost for removing the trash …so they buried it in our backyard. After further investigation we found out that since our house was the last house to be built… All the trash from previously built homes were dumped in backyard. They didn’t even try to make look nice or even safe. You can’t cut grass or even utilize the property we paid for.. it’s so much broken glass & rusty metal .. you cannot walk over there Safely. Just to name a few items that you saw in video LOTS of old broken glass, shoes, old tires, concrete, rusted pipes, plastic, wood etc.. They came out multiple times within 1 year and these are the results. I would NOT recommend this builder @cimarronhomes. For the safety of the residence these things should have been done before the house was built. My husband who is a authorize Osha Officer & Environmental safety officer. Stated that “This is completely unacceptable conditions to be left behind or trash to even be buried on anyone’s property of their New Home.

We were rushed through picking all the options out for our home by the sales rep because he said he had someplace to go and needed to leave and we couldn't reschedule. They don't complete homes when they are scheduled to be finished. They don't respond to phone calls or emails. Took four months to get landscaper out to fix drainage and was completely rude and unprofessional. Landscaper is the son of the owner of Cimarron Homes and does all Cimarron Home lawns. Stain in my granite counter tops still have not been treated after months of requests. They put a chandelier in my living room and my ceiling fan in my dining room and refused to correct it. I had to pay out of my own pocket to get an electrician to come out and them switched to where they were supposed to go.
Description of Work: They built our new home. The house has a list of issues and were told to email/call the customer service to schedule someone to come out and fix.

Cimarron representatives were always courteous, polite, and professional in all exchanges with them. In the future I would not close on a new home until everything is exactly how I want it (a point which many people made to me beforehand but the end of a lease prohibited us from taking the advice) because as much as the company wants to fix everything to your satisfaction, you are not a priority once the sale is closed.
Description of Work: July 2006 I bought a new home from Cimarron. In February I contracted to have it built with options I selected. The house is 2200 square feet on a .16 acre lot in north Durham. Many things had to be corrected after I pointed out errors of construction, but they were all corrected. Subcontractors were used for all parts of construction and the management and coordination of their efforts could have been better - but the house we received is a great value for what we paid for it and it's even better for my careful supervision and noticing of mistakes to be corrected.
