Carolina Grading & Gravel

Mike and team did an excellent job with this project. We were postponed a couple of weeks due to excessive rain in the area, but it was well worth the wait. The finished product looks better than we expected and we would not hesitate to recommend them or use them again in the future. Mike uses his own equipment (including dump truck) and his pricing was very reasonable. We also had enough gravel to add another layer to the old driveway. They completed the project in less than a day. We couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Perfectly. The work was done very quickly, the quality of dirt was good, and the final product was exactly what we had hoped it would be. We have since planted grass over the area, and it's the best-looking part of the yard!

I was contacted immediately through Angie's List messaging; then, Mike communicated with me by text to arrange a prompt quote; then scheduled the work. The grading and gravel work was done on a 96 degree day. It was completed and exceeds my expectations. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Carolina Grading and Gravel.

graded existing fill to address landscape drainage issue and graded or added fill to driveway. achieved an appropriate slope away from house, cut drainage ditch and a berm to redirect runoff. compacted fill will power compactor. added and spread .crush 'n run gravel and applied a top coat of pea gravel. Work met or exceeded expectations. everything about the work was completed in a very professional and "finished" manner. will use again

Mike Brennan and the Carolina Paving crew were fabulous. I sent him (after hours) an initial request for a quote via the link here on Angie's List, and he promptly returned my inquiry. He was exactly on time for two separate meetings (within a minute, both times!) to go over the specifics of the projects. He let me know exactly what to expect, what he needed from me (I needed to arrange to call 811 and have the utilities marked), provided an accurate and reasonable estimate, did the work on the day he said he would and in the amount of time he promised, and stayed true to his original estimate. He even came back to mark the job with white paint (recommended by 811) after I had marked the job with orange paint. And he finished the job on the day promised despite rain later in the day. And even with all of the earth moving equipment, there was essentially no residual clean-up required - the aprons adjacent to the driveways were left undisturbed. He kept me informed by both phone and email throughout the entire process. I can't say enough good things! Kudos all the way to him and his crew.

Mike Brennan was great to work with and very punctual for estimate and work. Was easy to get responses from during those times and actually showed up early for the work in the yard. They did exactly what I wanted in terms of the dirt pile removal and grading the yard back to the level it should have been. They removed all the dirt and debris and leveled the area out smooth before leaving. They also hit two high spots in my front yard for me that I asked about when they got here which wasn't part of original work estimate and did so with no issues. Great people to deal with and will use them again in the future as well as recommend to others.

No work was done by this contractor but we did use another of AL's local members, Ace Asphalt.

Carolina Paving did the job about eight years ago. They did a fantastic job. The driveway is holding really well.

We contacted Mike at Carolina Paving for an estimate. He was responsive and came out when scheduled. He gave us a good price. He was not the cheapest quote we got, but he was the most professional. The entire job took 3 days and the onsite crew was very professional. They cleaned up after themselves and were easy to work with when we needed to leave the house. I would recommend Carolina Paving to anyone who wants a quality job done.
