About us
Carolina Garden Company has been in business for 15 years in the Triangle area. We focus on creative designs and installations. Our owner is a Campbell University Graduate and also studied Ornamental Horticulture at NC State. Experienced as a buyer in retail nursery for 10 years.
Shelley, Brad, and their team are amazing!! We moved into our house last year, and as a new build there was no landscaping other than grass and a few sad holly bushes. Shelley came in and helped us design a beautiful yard in both the front yard (along the entry way and mailbox), helped us hide ugly utility boxes, and in the back yard recommended trees and bushes to create both an upper garden and a lower garden. Throughout the planning, Shelley helped us identify both native plants to NC that would do well in our climate, but also helped find plants that met our needs and desires (novice gardeners who wanted low maintenance, colorful plants). Shelley also was very respectful of our budget and made sure to choose plants and sizes of plants that we could afford, but still providing high impact spaces. We did run into some drainage issues on one side of our house (near the swell and utilities). Brad helped us design a french drain system that would remediate our drainage issues at an affordable price. With the fix, Shelley was able to complete the landscape plan to hide the utility boxes. Also, Shelley helped us spruce up our sad window boxes to make design pop! Throughout the process, Shelley was very responsive to phone calls, emails, and texts. She also took the time to explain things to us and listen to our concerns about plant/tree heights and widths and how it would look in our yard when they were fully grown. It is refreshing to work with someone who is creative, listens to the client, and gets the job done well. I hope that we are able to work with her again in the future!!!

Began with a walk that was completely unusable and made a plan to fix. Used materials that included stones already in place to help with cost. Great job with that. Spent lots of time talking with homeowners about what they wanted and what would work to make a better pathway. Using polymeric sand did the job! Also, area was cluttered with too many bushes, so they carefully removed those. It looks great. Talked over new types of plants that would enhance the area, purchased and installed. All along the way, there was much discussion about what would be the right plants for the environment. Highly recommend this company. Creative ideas and timely follow-up. We look forward to working with them again in the future.

It went really, really well. It was more than a one day job. The crew arrived on time with all the supplies to do the job. Removal took 1/2 the time spent on site. Then they set about cleaning and setting the new edging stone. They added more gravel since none had been added for 25 years. The job went so well! And they were so good and paid such attention to detail. They took great care when traveling over the front yard to not do any damage to any areas. You just could not ask for better. Knowledge of plants that are good for the area was exceptional. Looking forward to getting them back to do another garden area in the front yard that needs help. Just could not have been better! I can add a photo later. It is beautiful!
Description of Work: There is a garden path that leads from the front of the house along the side of the house and then 50 feet or so more to a backyard fence gate. The path was in a state of decay. Needed improving with new edging stones, cleaning the path and removal of all the old edging landscape timbers. We are talking 140 of path. That meant 280 feet of edging!! There was a lot of old timbers with nails and re-bar spikes that needed to be removed and taken way. Then they did the upgrade to the garden path, It was quite a lot of work!
