Description of Work: When I called, I had to leave a message. They were punctual getting back to me but between the time I first called amd I was able to return his call back, we decided not to purchase the house so we did not need a roof estimate.

Response from American Craftsmen of NC
I spoke with the homeowner regarding the D on price (Any time we have a customer that maybe unhappy regarding any work or estimate we have don.....as the owner who values I solid reputation....I always call to see what went wrong and how can we solve the situation). The estimate was for various repairs and was given in 2010. Considering our estimate was approximately $900.00. Because of such a drastic low grade relative to all our outstanding reposts, I was wondering if the work was done for free considering how much lower can a reputable company go from $900.00 and not lose money? I contacted the homeowner, which he was very nice, and he confirmed that the listing for price was not suppose to be a D. Angie's List, as they have been doing lately to generate more reports, contacted the homeowner and Angie's List Rep incorrectly entered the D. Based on my conversation with the homeowner he thanked me for calling and see he was very pleased with our professionalism but our price was not the cheapest but he did not tell the Rep to give us a D. To some homeowners disagreement, Angie's List has been contacting and continuously harassing homeowners to submit reports (I have had more than one homeowner complain and 1 specifically told me that he had to eventually tell Angie's List reps to stop harassing him and to not call again) from companies they have received estimates from and companies that the homeowner may have hired. I voiced my opinion in a phone call the Angie's List that asking homeowners why they did not choose a certain company devalues the importance of Angie's List mission. As a business owner you just do not always connect with people, estimates are not always apples to apples and customer service and quality cannot be gained or seen just based on an estimate.

Description of Work: I called them to obtain advice about a continual problem with my siding wicking moisture and subsequently rotting. I was wanting suggestions for them to do work if required. He looked the house over and did not feel the siding required replacement. Recommended to have a painter use very good caulking and keep the areas well caulked. Also discussed possible replacement with cement based siding. He was very honest and did not try to sell me a service. He did look at the roof and said it would need to be replaced in the near future, but again did not do a hard sales job. Appreciated his honesty.
