Rodney was quick, giving us and estimate and scheduling time to repair our problem in less than a week. The work was performed in a professional manner and was thorough and prompt. I received phone calls before, during and after the repair to see if we were satisfied with the work. We definitely were. These are really nice folks. They care about their reputation.

Rodney was great from the start. Really listened and heard what I wanted, then came up with a plan to achieve it. His communication skills were excellent and he did a great job of staying in touch during a break in the work due to inclement weather. His crew was professional and hard-working. I couldn't be happier with the results and recommended him to a friend who had a new roof put on and was also quite pleased.

We were very impressed with American Craftsmen from our very first email requesting an appointment for a quote. Throughout the entire process, they were prompt, courteous, and easy to work with. We obtained three quotes, and American Craftsmen were the middle price point of the three. We felt that they offered a quality product from a reputable established company, but also felt that we were not financing unnecessarily elaborate sales/promotional materials. Approximately 2 weeks after confirming our order, the crew arrived to perform the services as listed above. We were not at home during the installation, but when we arrived home, the gutter guards were in place, with only a few (8-10) small (<3") loose metal shavings present on our driveway and in our grass. The guards blend in beautifully with our roof, and, with the significant rainfall of the past few days, have worked perfectly! About a week after installation, the company returned to inspect the work, and make certain that we were completely satisfied with the services, which we definitely are!

I called American Craftsmen based on the high ratings on Angie's List. A salesperson came to the house on schedule and performed an estimate. The sales pitch was a little long, but based on the reputation of the business, the next day I accepted the contract. I appreciated that the business owner, Rodney, explained to me that this particular salesperson was new (was recently hired to help handle the increasing demand for estimates) and requested my feedback. I had assumed that the replacement of the fascia board included painting, but the salesperson explained after the work was done that this was not included. However, when I mentioned to Rodney that I didn't know that painting was not included, he immediately sent a painter out and performed the painting at no additional charge. I was very impressed by this attention to customer satisfaction. The work was completed quickly, on schedule, and with high quality. Rodney and the salesperson were very conscientious about communicating with me about the work before, during and after the job. I didn't get any other estimates, so I don't know how the price would compare to others (that's why I left the price rating as N/A).

I needed a TV satellite removed from my roof. I called and talked to the owner, who was extremely courteous and professional. It was a very small job and another roofer told me it wasn't worth his time. American Craftsman sent out a guy the next day who removed the satellite and patched the holes on in the shingles. The worker never bothered me-he just showed up, did the job and left. I received an invoice in the mail several days later and sent off the check and that was it. Very easy and the job was well done. I would definitely use this company again.

We've used this company before for re-roofing our main house; the present job involved re-roofing an office extension to the main house. Rodney Turner, the owner, does the estimating and checks up on the work before, during and after. His crew members show up on time, work hard and do a good job cleaning up after the job.

We'd been having roof leaks over the last 6 months or so, so we decided on a new roof - ours was nearly 20 years old. This company, and owner, Rodney Turner, were highly rated on Angie's List so I gave them a call. Rodney called me back within a day and was happy to set up an after hours appointment (6pm or so). Both my wife and I work, so this was incredibly helpful for us. Rodney is very personable and explained in detail what they would do, from removal of the old shingles, installation of the new roof, and even how they would clean everything up. He was good at walking us through the different choices in roof tile type, color, etc. He extended a good price, so after sleeping on it we gave him the work. Rodney was also good at communicating when the materials would arrive and when the crew would arrive. When they got delayed by a day on the job right before ours, he called to apologize. I didn't care one way or the other what day they started, but the fact that he kept in such good contact with us was excellent customer service. The job took 2 days. The crew was good at keeping the yard clean during and after the job. Following the job, Rodney came by and found a couple of spots on the side of my house where falling shingles had marred the paint a bit. He had one of his crew out the following day to remove the spots and the side of the house is no worse for the wear. This was a great experience for us. I'm already considering Rodney in the future if we decide to replace our siding...

I got a prompt call back from the company and had them come out a few days later to give me an estimate. They not only gave me an estimate, but also an estimate for the whole house and some tips for some other work I will probably do myself. A few days later they called to let me know when they were coming. He said they'd be by on the following Monday afternoon(MLK Jr. day to boot)but they actually came in the morning. The team announced their presence and got straight to work. Man they were quick. I actually went out for a long brunch about 30 minutes after they started working and by the time I got back everything was up, cleaned, and they were gone. Very impressive. A few days later the rep called me again and asked when he could come over to inspect the work. I happened to be at home that day so he said he could come over immediately. He inspected, approved the job, and then asked for payment. Everything from start to finish was very professional and prompt. I needed the repairs because a tree fell on my house which also damaged my roof. In hindsight I wish I had called them to fix that as well. Next time I'll give them a call to do everything.

Job was done in a timely manner and within the estimate. When they left everything was picked up and removed or put back in place. Everything was very professional. Could not have asked for better service.

Despite some undesirable weather the job was accomplished very well. Everyone arrived as scheduled and the work was thorough & professional. They kept me informed & answered all the questions I had but wasted no time "lolly-gagging" around. They spent extra time checking around the driveway & yard for loose nails with their magnets. Any roofing job will result in stray nails so look carefully. I think we found all of them. Our roof, flashing & gutters look great......job well done.

They came; provided an estimate; and returned to do the work when I had the money. They provide discounts to Angie List members. They don't take credit cards. So, you have to be able to pay cash or use a "credit card check." Very nice and courteous.

Everything went great. They came by for the estimate and explained all the options. At that time we decided to place the order for all the materials. They kept me informed of the status for the delivery of the door and windows. Once all the materials came in, they called and made an appointment within a week. The workmen came by right on time and started working. They were finished in less time than was expected and everything looked good. I've been getting much more use out of the room now that the weather is cooling off. I'm very pleased with the work.

Overall the cost of the job was fair compared to two other services, the work was done promptly, and the managers were professional and courteous. Two issues arose during the job. The first was a misunderstanding of whether the siding was painted or unfinished. I was given the impression it would be painted and would have done the minor painting and caulking myself. Having to paint the siding as well changed the magnitude of the job. Rodney worked with me to find a painter at a reasonable cost. The second was the quality of the work as a few of the trim boards needed to be redone. Considering that most jobs will have issues, these problems were handled fairly and promptly. Rodney and Steve provided a thorough walk-through with me to insure that they and myself were satisfied with the work. Their customer service was top notch.

When Hurricane Gustav blew over a large tree onto our roof I called Rodney Taylor at American Craftsmen of NC, as he had done such a good job reshingling the roof earlier this year. He sent his partner Steve Sykes out to inspect the damage. Because there was significant structural work involved that was beyond their expertise they brought in a general contractor, Mark Dailey (Triangle Renovations), Steve and Mark together drew up an estimate for the combined structural and roofing work. They had an engineer assess the roof truss damage and draw up details of the necessary repairs. The plan they came up with was within the budget provided by our homeowners policy settlement, and they were hired. The work went very smoothly, was on schedule, and displayed the same attention to detail & craftsmanship as on the first time they worked on our house. We could not be more pleased with the outcome. *Note: I am entering a separate report on our equally positive experience with Mark Dailey (Triangle Renovations), who did the general contracting work on this project.

We had three companies come out and do an estimate, and American Craftsman's owner Rodney did this personally, taking time to go over all the details of the job he would do and advising us honestly on where spending a bit more on quality was worth it and where it was not. We decided he was the guy we wanted to do the job, and hired him despite the fact that the price he gave us--though reasonable-- was not the lowest of the three. Turned out the decision was a great one, as everything was done as promised, promptly, neatly, and with clear attention to detail. The owner & his crew take pride in doing things right and are not just out to make a buck. The company name "American Craftsmen" is fitting and well deserved. I recommend them without reservation.

Everything went smoothly, was performed in a timely and professional fashion, and cost was as quoted. They touted the benefits of each product without being overly pushy--that's a fine line to walk. They were prompt and thorough about communication without being obnoxious. Installation was quick but very well done and unobtrusive. In subsequent rains since installation, performance of gutters has been perfect. Only minor complaint is that they do not currently accept credit cards.

They were very punctual. They were very promote. They were very courteous when they were there working. They cleaned up everything when they were done working.

Everything went well. Rodney Turner is very friendly and eager to make the customer happy. The work began a month after our proposal/estimate was signed. This was OK with us; we didn't need it done urgently. The siding work took the estimated amount of time with a few rain days thrown in. The siding crew was very professional and respectful. They did a good job of cleaning up. The gutter work was done in a day. Our cost went over estimate due to a large amount of fascia board that needed to be replaced.

Rodney Turner was truly professional, informative and punctual. He came when he said he would. I was so impressed with his company I hired them to replace my 22 yr old roof which they completed & did a great job on 9-19-08.

Dana and 2 workers came out with a truck and equipment on a Saturday at the scheduled time. They resealed all pipe boots, chimney flashing and exposed nails. I have a steep pitched roof line on a 2.5 story house. I do not like to climb up on my roof.
