They were good and responsive. I didn’t go ahead with them as I was not sure about the price quoted. I liked their services and will use the same in future.

I called for an estimate some time before the project began. The estimate process was simple, and the person listened to my issues, took notes, and advised me of my options on several points. Their price was not the lowest or the highest, though it was higher than most of the other vendors. Chose Aluminum Company of NC based upon their reputation. Decided not to reside the entire house at that time but still wanted to have the repairs done. The first crew came out and power-washed the house, front steps, and some other small areas. Most of the siding repair spots were located during the initial estimate process but this located a couple more spots. The power washing crew broke the valve knob on a hose connection, but had it repaired without argument or issue, staying late to ensure it was done that day. The next crew was the siding crew. They removed the damaged siding an trim (or what was left of it in some cases), then installed new siding and trim and sealed it. There were some tricky spots, but they managed without major problems. They also removed and replaced the other rotten spots that were discovered by the power washing process. The siding crew broke the valve knob on other hose connection and it, too, was replaced without argument or issue. I think it took the siding crew two days -- one to remove the damaged parts, and the next day to install the new material. The painters were next. I had the house painted a couple years before, so I still had the paints used for that available. They obtained matching paints and painted the trim and siding that had been replaced. In some places, they went a little into nearby trim and siding to provide a more consistent finish. Because the siding crew managed some tricky (and tight) work when replacing the siding and trim next to the deck, the painters had to be clever with how they painted some of the siding and trim that was very close to the deck. The difference in appearance was not much, but looking closely I could tell there was a slight difference in the paint, so I was glad they went to this extra effort. Finally, the gutter crew. They showed up, installed the gutters, helmets, and downspouts. A couple of minor communications errors resulted in them putting in gutters and helmets where I did not originally intend (I was planning to do this part in stages because of the cost of the helmets), and directing a couple downspouts to old drain connections that had long ago been clogged by debris captured by the prior gutter system. Rather than them removing the (originally unintended) extra gutters and helmets I decided to leave them up. They corrected the drainage path so it would go away from the foundation, and finished the work. If they had not replaced the damaged hose connections, or had made a fuss about it, or if they had not been willing to work with me on the unintended lengths of gutter+helmet, I probably would have given them a lower score overall, and rated the professionalism D. Such issues could turn a project into a nightmare, and I think were preventable, but since they were good about handling the issues, I think they deserve some credit (so I rated their professionalism B and it did not hurt their overall score). If I did not have a little extra available to cover the cost of the additional gutter + helmet, it could have been a bigger problem. The finished siding repairs look good, and despite being a completely different product from what was originally installed, is matched well to the remaining original siding and trim work (you can tell a difference only if you look closely). I expect it to survive far better than the replaced parts did. If I am still here when this place needs new siding all around, I will definitely consider the Aluminum Company of NC for replacing the remaining masonite siding and wood trim. The gutters work well, and the helmets are great. Even under heavy rain, in one place where I had a waterfall before the gutters + helmets, I only see occasional drops overshoot. It is nice not having moss growing on the front steps anymore, almost as nice as being able to clear debris off the roof with a (really long extension-handle) broom instead of climbing up a ladder to remove junk from the gutters. On a two-story house, this is a big deal (I don't even want to contemplate it on a bigger house!). Despite my specific request that I not be added to electronic marketing lists, Aluminum Company has apparently added me to a marketing list whose distribution is handled by MailChimp. I will probably not be using them again because of this abuse of privacy and theft of service.
Description of Work: Repair deteriorated and damaged masonite siding (replace with fibrous cement siding). Repair deteriorated and damaged trim (replace with vinyl or similar trim work). Replace siding and trim on a bay window with wood deck outside, where the deck's proximity to the siding and trim had caused more water and debris to rot that siding and trim (essentially all of the siding and trim on the bay window and in its vicinity had to be replaced). Paint replacement siding and trim work to match surrounding siding or trim as appropriate. Install gutters and 'gutter helmets'.

I will not be going with them because their estimate was rather high. I have done business with them in the past, and they are a little expensive; but I like the quality of their work. They came out and evaluated the property. They came in and offered me some options on what materials they had. It was a good quote experience. The typical quote that I was getting for the same fence from others was $12000, so I will be using someone else for this project. Despite my specific request that I not be added to electronic marketing lists, Aluminum Company has apparently added me to a marketing list whose distribution is handled by MailChimp. I will probably not be using them again because of this abuse of privacy and theft of service.

They told me that if I replaced the roof it would ruin the warrantee on my gutters unless I paid them $800 to replace the gutters and also allowed them to replace the roof instead of using a different. The people that work for this company are wonderful and I really loved working with them but I just feel like their pricing is unfair. I am also upset that the lifetime warranty was not honored on the gutter helmets.

They did a beautiful job. It was very hot and humid that day and they did not complain about the heat or going up and down the stairs from their truck to the third floor many, many times. They worked around our plan to have sheetrock and lumber delivered through the window opening they cut before they installed the window. The windows look great and they did not leave a mess in the house or outside. They completed both windows, start to finish, in one day.

The technician came twice, first to fix the siding, do the gutter work, and measure the window. He arrived an hour or more earlier than originally scheduled but called first to confirm that it was all right with me for him to come early. He performed the work in a professional manner and then took me around and showed me what had been done. The thermal window had to be ordered; when it came in, the company called me to arrange for the installation. Again, the technician called to advise me that he would be about half an hour earlier than scheduled. This time he installed the window and then advised me that the siding he had installed earlier appeared to be a little loose so he went back up and did more work on that piece of siding. Because he was able to reuse the original piece of siding, there was no need to order or match the siding to the existing siding. My experience with the Aluminum Company of North Carolina has always been positive; the same company replaced siding on my previous residence several years ago and did a very good job at that time.
Description of Work: I called the Aluminum Company because I had several small things that needed to be done. The major repair needed was fixing a piece of siding that had broken off the house but there was also a gutter/downspout problem and a window with a failed thermal seal. The technician reinstalled the piece of siding which was damaged but not destroyed. He also replaced a downspout and installed a diverter in another gutter and took measurements for the window. He then came back later to install the window.

We paid the extra price to get good quality product and service, and we did. The team at ACofNC do a great job of communicating. The coil of Aluminum was damaged the first time out and they let us know right away and re-scheduled (this is why puncuality gets a B). Also, eventhough only replacing one gutter, they did a gutter clean on the whole house, which prevented me from having to pay another company to come out and finish. Left the area clean.

Brent Taylor came out to quote - this was the fourth and final quote i was getting therefore it was the fourth time i was explaining exactly what i needed done. I'm not exactly sure if he heard anything i said talked quite a bit about himself - quote provided was not legible - upon asking for the quote to be in a written email, prices were different. Quote was incomplete as some painting was needed. Followed up twice via phone about 1 and 2 weeks after he visited. Still no cost estimate on the painting. I really wanted to use these guys but I'm guessing larger (>5k) jobs got in their way?

I purchased a 36 year old house last year. 5 of the windows were in bad shape. The seals on the windows had busted and they got cloudy..so cloudy you couldn?t see through the windows. I had a Raleigh Based company (not American Aluminum) come out to give me an estimate on how much it would cost to replace these windows. This company examined the windows and said, ?I would love to take your money but these windows have a lifetime warranty on them through American Aluminum Company of North Carolina.? I explained to the salesman that I did not buy the windows?and that I had only lived in the house a year. The salesman suggested I call American Aluminum Company of North Carolina to see if they would still honor the warranty even though the previous owners were likely responsible for buying the windows. He told me that if they didn?t honor the warranty, the cost for him to replace the windows would be $1,800.00. I called American Aluminum Company and spoke to a guy named AJ..who was a manager. I explained my situation to him and he said, ?No problem, we?d be glad to replace them free of charge!!!? I was floored. AJ then proceeded to tell me that the windows had been purchased in 1999 by the people BEFORE my previous owners! SO BASICALLY 11 YEARS LATER?AND 3 OWNERS LATER?.AMERICAN ALLUMINUM COMPANY HONORED THE WARRANTY AND COMPLETELY REPLACED ALL THE WINDOWS FREE OF CHARGE! I still cannot believe how fortunate and blessed I am! I cannot get over the generosity of American Aluminum Company of NC!!! I don?t know of anyone or any company that would have done this!!! They owed me NOTHING?and yet they did this out of the goodness of their heart. I should also tell you that the installation of the new windows went smoothly. A guy named Reid came out and put brand new windows in. What a professional. I am definitely a very very blessed woman!!! THANK YOU AMERICAN ALLUMINUM COMPANY FOR THE MOST OUTSTANDING LEVEL OF PROFESSIONALISM I HAVE EVER SEEN. Not only will you get my future business, but I will recommend you to everyone I know?. God Bless you!

Excellent. The crews were prompt and courteous and cleaned up after each day's work. The quality of the work is exceptional and the Aluminum Company stands behind their workmanship. The few issues we encountered during the project were handled quickly and to our satisfaction. We couldn't be happier with the decision to use the Aluminum Company for the job. They weren't the cheapest, but undoubtedly the best. From the initial estimate through the final walkthrough, everyone took great care to ensure we were happy.

Bill came out and gave us a quote - it was a very simple process and did not take long. We wanted to move quickly on the installation, so Bill met us at our place of work to complete paperwork. The day the windows were originally supposed to be installed, it snowed - installation had to be rescheduled. While extremely inconvenient, it is not the fault of the company. We were able to have the windows installed and completed before the end of the year to benefit from the energy saver tax credit. The windows look great - we can't be happier.

Our salesman was running late for an appointment and left a message with Member on the only number we had for him which was a business cell phone. Our saleman got to the rental house and talked with the tenant and measured the gutters and called and left several messages for Member to give him the estimate that he requested. We we prepared to give him a discount for our tardiness to the set appointment but never heard back from him.

I talked to them quite a bit and I was very impressed with them. I am regretting that I did not use them. I was comparing him to the company I went with. The other company said they could give me a bay window in the front. I should have listened to Aluminum guy. He said it was not visibly possible and to make sure the other company really knew what they were doing. When I called the other company again, they said they could do anything. Then of course I got the phone call after I put my money in and they said they could not actually build it. So I am wishing I had gone with Aluminum. I felt like a bait and switch. I did not spend any money with Aluminum. Gary, the sales rep that came out, was great. I thought he was awesome. I originally had gone with him, but the other company said that they could do something that Gary said he couldn't do. Again, I am wishing I had gone with Gary. I would use them again in the future. In fact, I still have the tiles that they dropped off for me to look at various roofs. When I recover from the window expenses, I will be calling them for the roof.

The experience went extremely well. They allowed us to play along and have a special color mixed that they weren't familiar with at all. It came out really well. They had a lot of knowledge. They have been in business long enough that the owner could give some very fine points about what they were going to do and why. We go good value for the price. The quality was excellent! They provided good preparation. They saw problems and fixed them. When you are dealing with an older house, you have probems that could be hidden. They pointed them out and asked what we wanted to do about it. They were very punctual. We could almost set our clock by them.

The price was a little high but it had a lifetime warranty so we were pleased. We really liked working with them. They also did our gutters about two years ago and we really truly like them. Right after we got our gutters we had our house painted by another person and the paint guys messed up the gutters and they came out to fix the gutters because of the lifetime warranty even though it was someone else's fault. If we sell our house the warranty will transfer to the new owners and we really like that.
