The joint between the house and the clean out was last repaired about five years ago with a rubber boot to splice the two pieces of PVC pipe together. The prior repair failed after the the main sewer line settled, resulting in roots clog up the line. I called ACME plumbing and they came out the same day. Before the repair, Gary from ACME used a camera to examine the main sewer line form the house to the street. About 10' ft of PVC pipe form the house had settled and was holding water. Acme dug down to the old pipe replace the section that had settled and installed a new pipe with the right pitch. They packed the ground around the pipe prevent it from settling. No more sewer pipe rubber boots! They were very careful with the lawn and and did a great job cleaning up.

I purchased a new dual fuel range to replace a previous one but the old gas connection was preventing the new range from sliding all the way into the opening. I called Acme after another plumber didn't want the job and they came out the very next day and fixed the problem. Their technician was careful and thorough and cleaned up after himself well. I would definitely use Acme Plumbing again!

Loved the whole experience! I booked a week ago, the main office was communicative today, and the plumber was on time. Lawrence was our plumber and he was very professional and efficient. He was very friendly and nice about answering my questions, as well. The price was a bit more than I expected, which is why I gave a B grade, but to be honest we don't mind paying for quality. We also decided to pay the $89 to do their annual service agreement which gives us 15% off all jobs and a free home-wide plumbing inspection. We are definitely using them again!

Lawrence was our plumber and he did a thorough home inspection and repairs. He honestly revealed what we could expect down the road and he repaired items that needed to be addressed today. He was punctual, professional and his manner was friendly. He made it easy to ask questions and to understand his answers. Highly recommend.

Lawrence was professional and extremely competent. The response time was A+. And customer service from initial call to follow up thank you note was old time great.

Made an appointment in early-May for an estimate on some work in my master bath on June 2. Mr. Tilley arrived and spoke with me. My tile contractor was present for the entire visit. Mr. Tilley told me that it would take a while to put the estimate together because they were understaffed. He made some comments about the type of job applicants they were getting that made me uncomfortable. I told him that I wanted to have the project done before school started in August. He said he would do his best and get back to me as soon as he had time. I waited patiently. And waited. And waited. I left a message at the office on 7/14 to find out what was going on. I got an email from Mr. Tilley on 7/15 that said "Good morning ma'am. The workload here has constricted since I spoke with you a month and a half ago. I had been optimistic that we could help you with your project but I do apologize for being unable to follow through. We thank you greatly for the opportunity and I do hope you have luck moving forward." I replied by email and said "Thanks. I?ll be sure to note your lack of professionalism and total disrespect for my time in my review on Angie?s List." Mr. Tilley called back immediately and left a message that said he thought he had been quite respectful and that any negative review here would just be spiteful. I don't believe the review process is only for "attaboy" reviews and don't appreciate having my desire to share my reasonable disappointment as part of the AL community characterized as "spite." I thought about it for a week before coming back to write this review. I am extremely disappointed that this company wasted 9 weeks of my time and there is now no way I can get this project done before school starts. My time is very important to me and I decided that it is exactly this type of review that would have been most helpful to me in the first place and that's why I decided to write it.

Excellent - they came right over. The plumber was professional, courteous and explained everything that he had to do. And he stopped by a couple of weeks later to check on us. Great service will definitely use them again.

Scheduling was easy; Efrem (sp?) was on-time and incredibly polite and professional. He identified the problem areas and discussed options with me. He spent time making sure everything was completely fixed and satisfactory. A few days later, I received a thank you note from the company. Excellent service and customer service.

They did it fine. They found out that the problem was not as serious as I thought. I found them very satisfactory. The price was very fair.

We live in a house built in 1961 and still has quite a bit of its original plumbing. We have been on city sewer/water for quite a while. We had a blockage before but that plumbing service was no longer available. I checked Angie's list and checked for local plumbers. Acme had solid reviews so I sent them a message about what we had happening. They responded almost immediately through the Angie's list messaging. I called and we discussed the problem and set up an appointment. She also encouraged me to take advantage of one of the many deals they were offering on Angie's list. A couple of days later we also had a problem with our water heater leaking. I called Acme ( on Easter Sunday) explained the situation and was able to talk to a technician that gave me advice on what to do ( avoiding an emergency call). When the appointment came, I was called before they arrived and they were prompt and on time. Once the technician ( Lawrence) examined the problem , he was able to give my husband and I a synopsis of the problem and an estimate on the cost. He was able to fix the problem in a timely manner. We had purchased a deal on Angie's list and it was applied to the cost. Lawrence was joined by another technician and they finished the job and cleaned up extremely well after. They replaced an older toilet and took it with them to dispose. They were so nice and professional we agreed to a service agreement and consider them our plumbers for future issues ( which we expect from having an older home). I highly recommend Acme plumbing. They were excellent.

So they came and fixed it. I will replace the faucet so I will call them to replace it. One thing I like about them is that they are locally owned and I established a relationship with the company.

I was very happy with the responsiveness as I called them late Friday and the workman was at my place early Monday morning after calling 1/2 hour ahead. He arrived, assessed the most urgent problem, a leaking outdoor faucet and said he didn't have a part with a lever, rather than a knob to turn, and would have to go to Lowe's. I told him whether it was a lever or knob didn't matter to me, so let's go with the knob. He said Ok, went to his truck and drove away. 50 minutes later he returned and did the outside faucet replacement. He then replaced the under sink drain pipes. The work appears to be good and it comes with a two year guarantee. the workman was careful to not make a mess in my house and was excellent in every way apart from the 50 minute excursion. Ultimately I was happy with the work and the price but have rated those low because of where we started and how they pricing their works. The way the pricing the works is not the standard division of a listing for the part price and a listing for the labor cost, which is pretty transparent. Their method is anything but easy to understand and while they say it makes it easier for the workman to price their work, my experience was the opposite. I am skeptical about both the explanation and method of pricing, but perhaps this is new and they have not thought it through. If they have thought it through, then you can draw your own conclusions. (more about this below in the next to last paragraph and a short venting of my incredulity in the last paragraph) Initially I was presented a bill of $364 in addition to my purchase of the Big Deal of $69, so $433 total. The workman had spent approximately 2 and a quarter hours from the time he arrived until the work was completed. 50 minutes of the 2 and a quarter hours was spent away from the site. I called the company and questioned the pricing. People were polite and helpful, though the decision maker was not available at that time I was called back 3 or so hours later and we sorted it out. I questioned paying for time spent away from the site given that, to my knowledge, there was no reason to since the part was in the truck. He agreed and said, also, that the workman had priced the under sink pipe replacements incorrectly that he had priced it as a set of separate installations rather than one replacement of 3 connected parts. That reduced the under sink cost to $174 from $264. So the bill for whole job was now $174 + $171+$69. Prior to the call I had gone to Lowe's to price comparable parts so I could be informed when I called to inquire about the pricing. Roughly the cost of all parts was $35, though, as the decision maker noted, the plumbing company cost was slightly lower since they get their parts wholesale. I really didn't care about that difference since it was very small in relation to the overall bill. So the total bill now was $345 for approximately $35 dollars in parts and an hour and 20 to 25 minutes which works out roughly to $250 an hour. I told the gentleman that this sounded excessive to me for NC. He agreed and reduced the total for everything to $172 or about $110 an hour for labor. Still a little high for here, but they did get out first thing Monday and the work is appears to be good. The pricing is strange - their standard price for the replacement of the outside faucet (I am choosing this because there was no problem with how I was charged from Acme plumbings perspective) was $171 for a $14 or less part and 45 minutes worth of work. I don't know much about plumbing but I think my problem here was slightly more time consuming than the easiest and less time consuming than the hardest. But if the part was $14 then the labor cost was $157. Which at a $100 an hour covers more than 1.5 hours. As a one size fits all, that is outrageous, in my considered opinion. It most certainly did not fit my job. And we saw above how the pricing by part with labor model included, led to confusion by the workman. Sort of makes the explanation that it is simpler for the workmen to price the job questionable, at best. I mean, really, how hard is it to compute labor time - presumably any workman can tell time and knows when he arrived and when he was finished and can then plug the numbers into a calculator (which can be purchase for less the $5). How hard is it to price a part exclusive of labor. The number can come from a list (just like the part and labor included list, only without the labor cost). And if the workman is confused, he can call the office.

I love using this service! This particular day I called, and they were extremely booked. Somehow they squeezed me in and arrived that very same day. Now our tub is working perfectly. I have no complaints and highly recommend this company.

He did find a problem. Not fixed because the price was too high to fix. I repaired it myself. The service was ok but the price was my only concern. I gave them an F on the price because it was too high for the repair.

It went very well from the start. I called around 8 am on a very cold Friday morning with no running water. Both Audrey and Lisa were very kind and professional on the phone. Laurence was at our house around 9:30 am. He was very professional, polite, and competent. We will definitely call on this company again and are happy to have a reliable plumber again. The were prompt, were responsive to me on the phone and were extremely informative. I even got them to give me an estimate for the work that I had done by JD Plumbing. he was great. He did exactly what I asked them to do. He did it quicker than the other guy did it. The other guys had a three-man team, he did it by himself. He was a one-guy team, did the job better and faster then the other company. It was amazing all the way around. They are my plumbing company from now on.

Very professional. Answered all my questions. Knew what he was doing and did an excellent job. So happy with that install that I called them back and had them come out and install another one. We have a new plumber that I like and can trust!

He replaced the kitchen drain, which was steel and had corroded. He was prompt, courteous, and it working perfectly. He replaced it with PVC at my request

Very professional & punctual. He had to return twice to fix leaks in the drains, but that may have more to do with our house. Willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Acme replaced the inner parts of one of the toilets at our business. They were very responsive, able to come out the next morning, did great work. Thanks!
