Good. The repair was a simple fix. He pulled the pump out of the well with the help of my husband and discovered an exposed wire. He did give us a break on the cost because my husband helped. The repair guy was very unprofessional.

I called on Saturday; Mr. Pollard said he'd be there Monday around 10. Exactly at 10, he showed up with a helper and got to work. Two hours later, my pump was running again and I learned a few things about my pump. Very nice guys, professional, really know their business.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak in the line, then primed the jet pump to get it going again.

We had Harold come to our home several times over the years, and each time we were impressed with his: 1. knowledge of wells. He didn't only have book knowledge, he had a wealth of experience 2. price. he charged a fair price, and only for work performed. 3. prompt response. returned calls, showed up when he said he would. 4. availability. he gladly answered questions over the phone to help us with a problem we could fix ourselves. Highly recommend him for any type of well issues.

Called in the morning and they were there by lunch time. Spent a good 2 hours trying to determine the problem and it was the well pump itself. They took the time to show me the old pump and what was wrong with it and compared the old pump to thetpe they were putting in which should last for several years. I would recommend their service both professionally, quality and price.

Excellent. I was without any water to the house. I recently bought the house, and frankly know very little about managing this type of well water problem. I checked Angie's list, called Harold Pollard to arranged to come to my home in a very timely manner. But even more, he reassured me he would find the problem, and walk me through the details to understand my system. He did all this with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. He located the problem, made sure the pipes and system at the well were insulated, and gave me a short "course 101" in pumps, pressure tank and switches. I highly recommend him. He knows his stuff, and is a fine gentleman to boot.

Excellent experience. Professional, courteous, efficient, and thorough. We have a well, Our water went out Sunday night (why are outages always so inconvenient?). We called early Monday morning, Harold came within 3 hours after seeing a previously scheduled customer. He was prompt, found a failed pressure switch, repaired it within 30 minutes, water back! Would definitely use again.

We called Ace after reading the excellent reviews. Harold was out of town (but answered his cell phone!), and said he'd call back Sunday, which he did, and that he could come out first thing Monday with his technician, which he also did. After pulling up the pump, his technician saw that it was just the wire that had been "skinned" from rubbing against the side of the well, so he replaced it. AND he put a sleeve on it to prevent this from happening again. A very reasonable charge later, we had water again. Many people would have replaced the pump and wire without checking, so we are very thankful we hired a very honest man. And an honest man who keeps his word and charges a reasonable amount for his services. We highly recommend them!!!
Description of Work: Our water went out on Friday 6/15, and while we thought it was most likely the well pump, we started the process with calling a plumber who said they also repaired well pumps. Three service companies and a few hundred dollars later (long story!), we decided to check Angie's list. (Note to self - check Angie's list FIRST next time!).

Our well stopped working and we called several places to get quotes. Our quotes ranged from $800 to $2500 for replacing the pump ONLY. I found out the retail price of a well pump was approx. $250 to $300 so $2500 for replacing a pump is very outrageous. Anyway, Harold, from Ace Pump, was very nice and was willing to replace our pump for $800. If we wanted the pump and all pipes and electrical wires replaced, it'd be just $1000. He was such a nice man. We went ahead and asked him to come out. He showed up on time with his son-in-law and they had it replaced before I could complete my walk around the neighborhood! All pipes, electrical and the pump were replaced within 45 minutes! The pump didn't come on right away so they also found a short in the the pressure switch. They replaced the switch for just $50 more. DONE! And it's been working great every since! I would DEFINITELY recommend Ace Pump! A MUCH better deal than anyone else out there!!!

We purchased a home and the inspection report said that the well was not working; the inspector did not know whether there was a problem with the well or if the breaker switch was turned off for some reason (potential electrical problem, etc.). The owner had dementia and couldn't help us (could not remember). Mr. Pollard went under the house, evaluated the situation, put in a pressure tank, and re-routed or added a line. He was very courteous - a pleasure to work with.
Description of Work: Mr. Pollard repaired a well pump for us and checked out the condition of our crawl space in general.

I thought we had a leak in the well and he was going to install a one-way valve to stop the leak for right now along with the pressure switch and the relief valve. As it turned out, he didn't think we had a leak at all so all that was needed was the other two items. He was very pleasant to deal with. Even though he didn't think the relief valve was necessary he still installed it cheerfully and without complaint (as opposed to others who would just say you don't need it, forget it and charge more!). Harold showed up on time. And, even more important, tried to help me out over the phone before he even came to make sure it was necessary for a charged trip. Not only would I have him come back again but I will. Eventually we'll need to replace the current pump and I wouldn't have anyone other than Harold do the work!
Description of Work: Harold checked out a possible leak in our well, replaced the pressure switch and installed an overpressure relief valve.

The owner and his assistant were very friendly and helpful. I was convinced we needed a new well pump when I called him, the pump being at least 15 years old, so I was relieved when they revived the pump motor with the new control box for considerably less money.
Description of Work: Diagnosed well pump in-operation and replaced pump control box with one for a higher horsepower motor.

It went well. Harold diagnosed that our submersible well pump (220 feet deep) had a bad connection/short in it. We needed to pull up the pump but our garage/well room that had been built around the pump head did not have enough room around it to put in the "puller." After discussion and some trial and error, we were able to come up with a solution that worked, and he and his assistant got the job done. Harold has been in the business a long time, thinks things through well, willingly discusses the options and his considered opinion with you and gets the job done in a professional manner. His prices are quite reasonable. And he is a nice person, to boot.
Description of Work: Our submersible well pump wasn't working and had to be replaced.
