I first contacted A&A plumbing to correct a minor leak in an old QEST water pipe tee fitting. He came out immediately and fixed the problem. This was the second time that a QEST fitting had failed, so while he was here, I asked for an estimate for replacing the piping for the whole house with PEX. I was in the process of updating the bathrooms and also had him install new faucets in the tub and showers, and also had him install a new water heater. He showed up on time and accomplished the work in one day with minimal disruption. The whole job was very professionally done and I am very pleased with the result.

We've a very old house with some below-grade basement plumbing that had given us trouble for years. Three different plumbing companies had attempted to correct the problem and each had failed to correct it and in two cases, they actually made the problem worse. Wallace very methodically ruled out and corrected problems (starting with the most-likely, least-expensive). Due to the number of improper interventions that had been attempted, Wallace had to do a large amount of diagnoses and trouble-shooting with several incremental changes. Now it's as good as new and better than it has been in years! He is methodical, smart, and does a LOT of research. I enthusiastically recommend Wallace at A&A Plumbing!

The guy is very creative. He is smart and a problem solver. He knew what he was doing. He help people. The price is a little higher, but he does everything like buying the sink & everything. I have been using him for 6 years. I recommend him to so many people.

The corroded nut holding the old faucet had to be cut off before it could be removed. The difficulty took one and one half hours. He took the remains of the old faucet away. He checked the shower drain and tightened one of the bathroom faucets and fixed the drain plugs on two sinks.

Excellent service. He did not have the cartridge on his truck, but quickly ran out to get it. He was very neat and thorough and even gave me some advice on replacing our old, inefficient toilets.

Wallace arrived on schedule an assessed the problem immediately. There was old tile under the flooring that would would be difficult to cut through, and make the repair costly and messy, so he recommended that he research a specific tool that could get at the problem. He said he might be able to fashion one as well. He was very informative and explained everything in a concise and polite manner. A few days later he arrived with a tool that he had made out of PVC that would fit into the space and avoid cutting the floor. He resolved the problem and it has been fine since. He also imparted suggestions to me about preventative measures I could take with other plumbing issues. He knows his stuff, takes pride in his work, and is a gentleman to boot. Highly recommended...

I had him come out to look at the shower system I had purchased to give me an estimate. He pretty strongly suggested that I take it back and use a brand name (Delta is is fav) set up instead. I explained that I wasn't finding what I wanted at Lowes/Home Depot, and he gave me the name of a plumbing specialist company which would have what I was looking for. I had trouble getting together with his contact at that company, but I was able to search online with the information he gave me, and I was thrilled to find exactly the type of system I was looking for for a very good price. Since I was having the floor of the bathroom tiled, as well as a new shower set up, I really had to ask him to come at very specific times such that he would be early enough as to not make the project get delayed. He was able to accommodate me, and he showed up exactly on time, worked hard, worked fast, and was extremely neat and cleaned up any mess he made by the time he gave me the bill. I will definitely use him again.

The provider gave us a quote over the phone, and we were then able to set up an appointment within one week. He arrived on time along with an electrician he arranged to complete the necessary electrical work. The work was performed in a professional manner in a reasonable amount of time for the original quoted price. Overall, we are extremely pleased with our experience.

The Tech arrived as promised and was preparing to do the work when I requested the use of a different type of pipe fitting to be used. That seemed to bother the Tech and he then warned me of the possiblity of future leaks. A week after the replacement of the faucet there was a leak and I was charged for the repair.

I've had Wallace Chambers do various plumbing jobs for me, in two different houses in Durham, both built in the 1920s. The first was in Forrest Hills, where he replaced the ruined galvanized pipes that ran from a second floor bathroom to the basement. Not only was the work done to perfection and quickly, but he left everything completely clean. More recently, in my new house in North Durham, he has replaced the sump pump in the basement, keeping the quarter inch standing between the tank and a sewage spill in my mother in law unit at bay---two days before Thanksgiving! Last week, he figured out how to handle a water leak that has clearly been with this house for years, and he threw in a little extra by adjusting my screen door when I complained about it. I would call no one else. He always returns your calls, shows up when he says he will, and does the work with efficiency and care. And he's nice to pets!

Came home to find that my water heater was making a hissing noise! Called A & A plumbing and the phone was answered right away by the owner, he told me that he was on a job but told me that he would be coming to me as soon as that job was done and gave me a time frame. He arrived within the timeframe, he was friendly and knowledgeable and quickly diagnosed the problem and immediately got to work to fix it. He was extremely tidy and went above and beyond putting things back together, even cleaning up some things that I had spilled before he had even come, he actually left the area more tidy than he found it! He explained in a clear way, that I could understand, what the problem was and how he was going to fix it and answered all my questions patiently. He thanked me for contacting him and left me with a business card and pen with the phone number on them so I could call if I had any more questions or further needs. Would use this company and recommend him for sure.

The toilets were well installed and have operated well for years -- this is in contrast to an install of the same toilet by another provider in a different bathroom of our house which ended up leaking and destroying the wood floor beneath it.

He is a tremendously skilled plumber. If he is going to be late for some reason, he will call you and let you know when he is going to be there, and I think that is very important. He is really down to earth and business like.

Mr. Chambers was very patient with me on the phone (as I called three times before we decided to hire him). I did speak to two other companies as well, but he was the most helpful. Since the source of the problem was a mystery to me and my husband and the septic system people, he was unable to give me an estimate prior to arrival. He arrived on time and was able to diagnose the problem and repair it quickly and cleanly. We had had a terrible odor in a half bath and the solution had eluded us. Previous experiences of plumbers had led us to be very leery, but we were extremely pleased with Mr. Chambers and will definitely use him again.

Mr. Chambers was very punctual, calling to confirm the appointment the day before and arriving right on time. He was very clear about his estimate and additional work that would be needed due to the new tile floor. His work was thorough, his manner was friendly, and his charges were very reasonable. He cleaned up very well when he was finished. I plan to hire him again and recommend him highly.
