They did an outstanding job at clearing and grading our heavily wooded lot. They were very reliable and worked very long hours to get our job done very expeditiously at a price that no one could match. These guys greatly exceeded our expectations. I would recommend Robert and his crew to anyone that needed clearing and grading work.

Mr. Muse analyzed the drive and the complex slopes leading into the driveway and proposed a design to fix not only the driveway but also a drainage plan to prevent rainwater from gathering and creating the washout gullys that has been a problem since we had the house built. His estimate was far below what I had guessed it would be. He described the timetable that he thought he could work, even adjusting to avoid a muddy driveway from an anticipated rain over the weekend. He showed up on the day he had promised and completed the work promptly. He is very friendly and shows that he takes pride in his work. He has concerns for his clients making sure that we could get in and out from our house all the time he was working. We plan on hiring him again in the spring for another job.

Everything went great. Robert came by and we discussed the types of gravel that would be best for my dogs, he suggested pea gravel and I went with that. Fifteen tons of gravel was delivered on Friday and they spread it first thing Monday. It looks better than I expected. I'm happy and most important my dogs are happy.

We reached out to several providers to see if they could meet us to provide a general estimate and didn't even receive responses - Robert Muse was the exception to this. Robert kindly meet us at the lot, answered our questions and provided insight on the clearing process and the amount it would likely cost (and worst case). Robert spent about 45 minutes on property with us and answered questions we had about clearing / excavation and potential costs for concrete (driveway / foundation / etc..)... His willingness to provide us this general quote and additional information was instrumental to our offer on the lot. Our offer on the lot was accepted on 7/8/2016 and we are now in the due diligence period. We will not likely break ground on our home for 1 to 1.5 years - but we will be reaching out to Robert Muse for a firm estimate on excavation and grading (and other services) and hope we have the opportunity to have him work on our project as he has already shown his willingness to provide excellent customer service. Robert thank you for being so generous and kind to help make this lot purchase and future home building a reality for us.

We are on a corner lot with a very short and narrow driveway . We ask Robert to widen the driveway so we would not have to park on the street. We also have a drainage ditch at the back of our lot which with heavy rains was backing up into the yard and water standing. Robert dug the ditch out and connected it to the ditch on the vacant lot next to us. Mr. Muse was present at all times, his crew knew exactly what to do and we were kept informed of each step involved. Easy to work with, reasonable, and prompt.

I hired Muse Hauling and Grading to install a new gravel driveway on my property and I am glad that I chose them. Robert went above and beyond to make sure that I was getting the best price he could offer. He came out exactly as promised and they did a great job. Never thought I would be much of a fan of a gravel driveway but i'm impressed and I couldn't be happier. He skipped NO corners making sure that the job was done right and that I was satisfied with the results. Since then I have hired Muse Hauling and Grading to do additional work for me. Fantastic!! Work was done promptly and for a very fair price. Site prep was perfect and no issues at all with the site prep when the building process started. My land and house are a true work of art thanks to Mr. Muse. Also, his communication was terrific, and that is very hard to find these days with just about any type of contractor. Would definitely recommend!!!

Start went well, around Mid-June I noticed a crack in the concrete. I finally got to talk to Mr. Muse on 9-4-2015 to advise him of the crack and he said he would check it out. I did not hear from him and sent a letter 10-30-2015 asking for his plan to fix the problem. He finally showed up and said that he did not know how the crack occurred, since it was not anywhere close to where the cars are parked. He made some type repair that made the crack disappear until the area was wet and you could see the repair. Later in the January the crack appeared again. I sent him a letter 2-16-16 about the crack. I never heard from him and sent another letter 4-12-16 and copied Angie's List. This got a response, a text message on 4-20-16 "I'm addressing your letter. I'll be sending you information soon regarding the small crack in you drive that has developed. I'm preparing all documentation of the entire event, excluding concrete company that supplied said concrete mix ... R.Muse". Now its May 2,2016 and I have not heard form Mr. Muse. Also when the concrete was poured there was a lot of "splash" on my two new garage doors. I mentioned this to Mr. Muse and when he tried to repair the crack, he also tried to clean up the "splash" but actually took some of the finsh off the door panels.

Excellent!!!! We have used this provider before for grading and gravel work. That was the main reason we chose them again, as they had done such an outstanding job previously. They have very fair pricing, and the work is extremely detailed. The owner of the company is very meticulous, and oversees and works on every job. In addition, he follows up after the work is completed to make sure that everything is done to the purchaser's satisfaction.

The first project I requested from Muse was the installation of a larger culvert under my driveway. To prevent flooding, I needed to upgrade from the regular residential 18" pipe to something at least 30". After months of trying to use concrete companies, who could not install culverts, I found Muse on Angie's. Not only could he do the job, but Robert also worked very hard to obtain the largest diameter culvert he could find. I was quite happy with the turnaround time to start and complete this project. The second project that Muse completed for me was the graveling of my private drive, which he was able to do the very next day after my request.

Robert and his team replaced incorrectly sized drainage culvert pipes under 2 gravel driveways and 4 concrete driveways, and they removed 100-feet of the wrong type of culvert pipe from a yard. For the driveways, they cut out the old pipe, put in the new pipe, and returned the driveway to its original condition (put back the gravel or poured new concrete and matched the pattern of the old concrete). For the yard, they removed the pipe, rounded the area off, and put out seed and roll-out straw. It was a long process to coordinate all 7 affected parties, and the weather didn't always cooperate, but Robert was very patient, sticking with us every step of the way. He was professional and followed through on what he said he would do. We are very happy with the work he did, and we will be recommending him to others. Great guy, and great work!

The results were perfect!!! Never thought I'd ever say that as I can be skeptical and really was not a true fan for graveled drives. Well, I am now a true believer. When l I walked through to examine the "damage", I was simply taken aback by Mr. Muse's thoroughness and professional detail. He even took the time to excavate the wooded trenches for better drainage. The gravel provided the entire road a more natural complement to our homestead. I never knew gravel could look so lovely. Its stony texture brought out the beauty of our natural habitat. I wish I could share pictures of the before and after. Also amazing was that the entire job was done in no time -- and, no, it was not a rush job -- it was efficiently done and not haphazardly just to get the job done. Also, special credit to Mr. Muse's assistant who helped make the project a success. I want to thank you Angie List for your fine recommendation. After so long a search, it was worth the wait. Wish my parents were here to see how pretty their property looks, thanks to Muse Hauling, Grading & Excavating Service. Again, many thanks.

When I told him what I wanted to have done, he agreed to come out for an estimate within the next couple of days. He called several times and said he would be there for the estimate, but he never showed. He never bothered to call me back either. I think that he might be more interested in hauling services or really large jobs instead.

Robert and his crew were very punctual and responsive if I had a question or needed to schedule a work date. The finished product speaks for itself...all items discussed in the proposal were met for the agreed upon price. They even finished a day earlier than predicted. Any damage done to the yard from the heavy equipment was repaired and graded. I would definitely recommend Muse for any shoreline stabilization and grading work.

Initial communication and scheduling was good. Robert suggested a different approach by keeping the driveway tighter coming up the hill. After the work was complete I was not able to make the turn with boat in tow. So he came back and cut some of the hill out. 2 loads of dirt and 2 load of gravel, drain pipe. Grading and leveling work was done with high quality. On return visit grading work was no cost but additional load of gravel was needed.

Robert Muse was very good about asking me what I wanted to do with the driveway. He provided good insight and offered helpful suggestions. I appreciated his time. He was very professional and easy to speak with. His estimate was very competitive. I am still in the process of putting together a plan for my home improvements. I found Robert Muse more than 2 years ago when I bought my new house, and have worked with him ever since. His company is called "hauling and grading", but he does much more than that. In addition to grading, he has great ideas for designing the property layout based on my needs and, for the work he doesn't do himself, has a terrific stable of expert subs. For example, after helping me design a new driveway and walkways, the concrete guys he brought in were absolutely awesome. He'll serve as G.C. for any outside work that needs doing (even as small as pine straw delivery and spreading), and works hard to get the best prices for his customers. He's prompt, reliable, and a delight to work with. I highly recommend Muse Hauling and Grading!
