This guy is a freakin scammer. Who knows what his business name is now, he goes by JGP restoration, JGP building company and sunset homes but his name is Rich Wojtalik. He installed siding and windows for us in 2014. Even from the beginning, communication was horrible. I had to constantly track him down and find out when the work was to begin seeing he did not start when he said he would. Anyway, let me get to the BIG issue here. We put that house up for sale in Nov 2018, and upon the home inspection, the inspector discovered moisture around EVERY SINGLE WINDOW. I contacted Rich Wojtalik, he came out to assess everything himself and he found that the windows were not properly weather proofed, agreed to come out Nov. 27 2018 to make "all necessary" repairs. I have that in a hand written note from him, emails and texts. He wanted us to pull off all of the paneling ourselves beforehand and send him pictures of everything so that he could gather enough materials to do all of the repairs. We discovered BLACK MOLD behind EVERY PANEL AROUND THE WINDOWS so we did not disturb anything else and told him he could just expect to repair everything seeing it looked so bad. So he came out on Nov 27 2018 to the "repairs". Yeah, that was a big joke. He literally CAULKED AROUND THE WINDOWS, PAINTED OVER THE MOLD AND REPLACED A FEW 2X4s. Not, rewrap the windows and properly sealed them, HE CAULKED THEM!!!!! So after arguing with him about doing it correctly, he stated that we could just turn it in on his insurance and said he would call us with all of that info that afternoon after he finished another job he had that day. Well of course that was a fight and the insurance info he did give us said they did not insure him at the time so there was nothing they could do. This guy knows exactly what he is doing and how to screw people over without getting caught. He warrantied the labor on his work for 5 years and he is not sticking to the warranty. We had to cover the costs of those repairs from someone else, my dogs were sick, we have all been sick and he doesn't care at all about making it right. DO NOT TRUST THIS CROOKED MAN!!!! He has multiple businesses he operates from, not just this one, tell me that's not shady

Rich worked with our insurance adjuster to come up with a scope of work (roofing, screens and repairing water damage) and price that was agreed on by both parties. Our contract also stated that we would receive a $500 coupon if we kept the JPG sign in our yard the week before the roof was completed and the week after. Our contract from Rich exactly matches the amounts paid by insurance and clearly shows the coupon applied to the total owed. He cashed our check and then put on our roof. While waiting for the rest of the work to be scheduled his wife e-mailed us asking us to pay the remaining balance of almost $700 even though they had been paid in full and not yet completed all of the work they had been paid for. When my husband called and e-mailed Rich he initially ignored all questions about the work that hadn't been done but then stated that they hadn't charged enough to make any money on the job and therefore wouldn't finish the work they had been paid for. They owe us a refund of nearly $700 and refuse to do the right thing.
Description of Work: Roofing, replace screens, comb and straighten ac condenser fins, move out and reset master bath, drywall tape and joint, spot seal with stain blocker, paint master bath, floor protection and labor for master bath drywall.

Initially, everything with JGP went very well. The inspector that initially performed the roof inspection and found the wind and hail damage was very courteous and punctual. The representatives and salesman that followed were also vey punctual and professional. However, this is where the "disagreement" begins. Before work began, I was provided samples of the replacement roof shingles on a typical manufacturer's sample board. I selected the dark brown shingles as that was the closest match to our current roof, and it coordinated with the other colors of the house. So everything was scheduled very easily, and all insurance work and notice was done pretty easily. So work began a few weeks later early in the morning, and I pulled out of my driveway excited to come home and see my new roof. However, when I pulled back onto my block that evening, I was pretty surprised at what I pulled up to: a bright tan roof! I immediately searched for the supervisor, but there wasn't one to be found. On top of that... nobody spoke english. I called the next morning and was told to speak to the supervisor when he arrived for final inspection. When they did, I told them that the roof was the wrong color. He firmly stated no, and that I must somehow be mistaken, because their order forms clearly state I ordered tan. Why would I order a tan roof for a yellow siding and red brick house?!? They continued to insist that I must have told the salesman tan instead of dark brown, so it was somehow my fault. They refused to take any responsibility! Despite my complaining, they moved forward with the insurance billing, and everything was paid. So now, I'm stuck with a tan roof and red brick, and a constant struggle to find a way to make it all match and coordinate. I pull up ot my house every day and hate what I see. A few weeks after this, JGP went me a nice little email asking me to refer them to my friends. I again brought up my complaint, and they not only denied it, but they again accused me of making some kind of mistake. What kind of mistake could I have made? I pointed to a shingle on a sample board, and said, "I want that one." The salesman must have put in a typo with the item number or something. Regardless, they don't care, and they've expressed how much they don't care several times. To pour salt on the wound, since the roof has been complete, I've had several roofers come to my door asking if I'd likea new roof. When I explain that it is new, they take a step back and look at it, and give me a weird look. I went with a 20 year roof since JGP said the 30 year roof would be an extra $500-$700 out of my pocket. Come to find out, no other roofer in town charges the homeowner anything extra for the 30 year roof. I strongly advise anyone to go with another roofing company for any work. JGP is sloppy with the ordering, unsupervised, and have no acocuntability or professional care for their mistakes.

I feel sorry for [member name removed], The core problem and reason for his complaint is the fact that he picked out his roof color without his wife's approval. As a result his wife did not like the color he chose. Our new policy is to make sure all parties are involved in making color selections. Sincerely, Richard Wojtalik JG P Restoration Company

The work would have been fine if the supervisor stayed to complete the job. JGP did pay attention to the problem and correct it with apologies.
Description of Work: I found moisture damage to the plywood under roofing shingles and contacted JGP buiilding company. They sent someone to look at the damage almost immediately. The roof had a slow leak near some flashing. I was given an estimate for the cost of the repair and we scheduled the work. A team of workers showed up on the scheduled day and time and worked very well as long as the supervisor was on the job. When he left they quickly finished and were gone without telling me they were leaving. I went into the attic and could see a hole to the sky large enough to put my fist through. I called JGP and they sent the supervisor back the following day with a different crew. They finished the repair and so far the roof seems to be fine.

Things went very well. He came right out the very same day I called him. He happened to be in the neighborhood. He got up on the roof. I had a little leak there; a tree limb had actually punched a hole on my roof. He used some roofer cement up there and fixed the hole. He actually cleaned up some gutters while he was up there too, so, he did a great job.

First let me say that we tried very hard to make sure all details of the job were discussed and in writing in the contract. We even requested the owner come out to review the contract before we signed it. While Rich at JGP was always responsive to our concerns, we felt many of them could have been totally avoided had there been better communication with his crew, and had he been on site at the start of the job. Some of the things we found very frustrating were call backs on a poorly installed flashing (photo). Improper material was used the first time (rolled tin or aluminum) and they did not have a bending device, resulting in a very wavy finish. (photo) Plus they spray painted it vs. installing a proper flashing material. The flashing was installed very high up the brick wall, and was not embedded in the brick mortar resulting in a "seal dependent" flashing. (see photo) The Certainteed training video online even advises against this. JGP is supposed to be a Certainteed Master Shingler which was another reason we were so surprised at all the problems we experienced. The flashing was redone on a call back, but we never agreed that it was done to our satisfaction. (photo) The work crew JGP sub-contracted to broke a tress in our garage. The owner of the company was not notified by the crew leader, nor were we. The crew removed wood we had in a covered pile and did an inadequate patch of the tress. The roof sagged visibly from the outside since it was not jacked up and braced from both sides. This was also corrected on a later call back. (photo) We would just have appreciated being told from the start, and the repair done properly the day of the re-roof. The crew also removed other homeowner materials that were outside. They weren't expensive items, just ours and things we had saved for other projects. The crew even took two flimsy untreated twin bed frames we had saved just for supports in the garden, nailed them together and climbed to the 2nd story fascia area, which was not in any way a safe practice. Other smaller issues were also addressed like the crew not painting the pipes to match the shingles. An area of the drip edge was patched instead of overlapped, and was later corrected. (photo) We also discovered that the membrane material that we had specifically specified in the contract because of the low-slope areas (Certainteed WinterGuard) was not delivered and used. A totally different brand and slightly thinner material was used. I immediately spoke to Rich about this by phone and he said the wrong material was delivered. Since it was almost 10:30-11:00 a.m. before the materials were even delivered, and the roof had already been removed from our garage, we opted not to have to wait for a re-delivery. As it was the crew was here after dark. We later learned we should never have let them do any tear-off with out the new materials being here. On 6/6/12 after a rainy night, we discovered water coming in where the two new low-slope roof lines meet. (photo) Another call back resulted and some adjustments were made to the new fascia board and more flashing added. Hopefully it is sealed properly now. Despite asking for very thorough clean up, especially of nails because we have dogs, an unsatisfactory amount of debris was left behind (photo). Positives about dealing with JGP were: they answered their phone and email--Ann in the office was very pleasant. Rich, the owner was always professional in person and did follow up on the call backs promptly. We just feel the overall job was not done well, and we should not have had so many workmanship issues that required call backs and a waste of the homeowner's time. We also need our main and larger roof redone, but because of this experience, will not hire JGP for this job.
Description of Work: JGP replaced 2 low slope areas of roofing, plus the garage. Note: If a C - was available, that's what we would have selected as an overall rating.

I would like to start by apologizing to the member for not performing up to her expectations. My crew did make a couple of foolish mistakes that where later corrected. One, they installed coil flashing material to her brick wall, which had to be removed and replaced with the correct material and second they discovered a cracked rafter in her 60 year old garage and used some of the material she had in her attic to make the repair. The above items where addressed promptly and the proper corrections where made to remedy the issues. The member is a very theerall customer and I appreciate that. Her project was a unique job because we where dealing with an older home with unique challenges. I felt at the end of the project all her expectations had been meet and full-filled. It was very disheartening to find this report on Angie"s list after working so hard to make your customer happy. I will definitely use this experience to better my company. Rich Wojtalik

Extremely well. We had several estimates and suggestions for home roof leak, but JPG found the problem and it was a fairly simple repair. They were very professional and pleasant to deal with. Called them again after recent hail storm. They again inspected roof and reported there was no damage. Will definitely use their services again if the need arises.
