It was a very sloppy job. Thankfully, it was straight, but needed a lot of cleanup. The grout is not complete at the edges, or in many spots where the tile meets the cabinet or countertop - this needs to be filled in. There is grout on top of the tiles which now needs to be sanded off and will create quite a mess. There isn't a gap at the bottom for the caulk to be applied. The tile at the top of the cabinets is very uneven and will need to be covered with 1/4 rounds to mask that. The edge by the fridge was not installed in a straight line. Outlet extenders were not installed in the outlets causing 'floppy' outlets. His response to my e-mail stated this: I am sorry to hear that you were dissappointed with the tile work. Kind regards, Tom Schultz. So on top of his fee, I had to pay a second, more experienced, installer come in to clean it up. He was a VERY nice man, just wish he had been more honest about the amount of experience in tile installation.

Job 1: Tom is incrdbly nice to wrk w/. He is responsive, & honest. He is very meticulous. Tom gives you cmpltd results nothing less than what he would do in his own home. He does a thorough cleaning after the job is complete, & keeps the wrk area fairly contained & clean during the project. It was helpful to ask Tom his advice on many styles of tile & the different ways to pattern it. Job 2: This was the second project we had Tom do for us. Just as w/ the first one we are very pleased with his wrk. There was a mis-communication w/ the lumber cmpny when we ordered the flooring & ended up w/ the majority of the lengths 12-15 inches. Tom was fantastic in positioning the slates to appear natural. It was Tom?s suggestion to remove the exhaust fan & install an under mount microwave. It was a wonderful idea. It freed up so much space on our new granite countertops. Tom is a one man show so the projects tend to run slow, if you can wrk w/ that his wrkmnshp it is definitely worth the wait.
