Horrible experience - they were very knowledgeable and helpful in the beginning of the project and then completely flipped a switch on us once the actual work started. They were very adversarial and aggressive with change orders and progress payments and conducted themselves in a very unprofessional manner while interacting with us and all of the other contractors that were working in our home. Our biggest mistake was letting them get too far ahead in the progress payments to where we didn’t have any leverage to make them finish the project as originally contracted and agreed upon. We had to eventually terminate the contract and pay more out of pocket with another contractor to end the nonsense. I can see them performing okay on smaller jobs without other trades involved and I’m afraid our project was too big for them. I would highly recommend holding back at least 30-40% of the total contract amount (change orders included) until they are 100% finished if you decide to work with the Hartley Group.

Very responsive and punctual arrival with William. Through and professional evaluation and follow-up with detailed estimate. Stephanie was quick to respond and email for appointment and estimate. Although I did not contract for the job, I would definitely use them again.

The Hartley crew came by and was on time. They were very professional and explained the entire job to me as well as answered any questions I had throughout the entire process without any issue. The job took about 3 days and they made use of that time with excellent proficiency. Once the job was over we walked the job to make sure everything was done to spec. I will be calling them again to do my floors in the future. You couldn't ask for better quality and professionalism. If there is an issue they will handle it. I was very very satisfied.

I hired The Hartley Group to build a custom fireplace and mantle, from the very beginning the professionalism and Customer service was second to none. I told them exactly what I wanted and they built me exactly what I wanted with quality that was mastered. After being so pleased with the work I had them install all custom trim and doors in my house they are absolutely the best custom interior carpenters I have ever seen. I have referred this company to friends and family who have also been blown away by the customer service and quality of work I highly recommend The Hartley Group.
