+ -1 moreService Tech msg when he was on his way. Arrived on time and was very professional. However, the estimate for the replacement unit was 3 times higher than what a unit should cost to replace. So needless to say, I was disappointed in their quote.

+ -1 moreHorrible business. I was out of town and was very hot and kids rooms had no air flor. Called Ease air and they sent someone next morning. He crawled in crawl space and told us we had no ductwork and that everything needed replacing and then quoted us 7000$. I crawled under the following week just to find there is duct work but the just the 1 flex duct fell off the blower of the Heat exchange. Never do business with them ever. I live in Denver NC.

Anybody he has ever sent to our home, has been just as professional and reliable as Mike himself. I can't say enough good things about Cool Comfort.

Description of Work: I had work done on a number of separate occasions. First was my a/c system (turns out that I needed new filters and to clear a drainage pipe). Next my heating system needed a new control panel. They took the initiative to look into a possible warranty for my unit thereby decreasing the total bill by hundreds of dollars.

+ -1 moreMike and he's associates are fabulous. 'A's right across the border. They aren't cheap but they are worth what you pay. Responsiveness is especially good with them. There is a few contractor that a housewife would like to depend on. Mike is one of them. Very very (personal) excellent communication and great responsiveness and very very considerate.
Description of Work: The day after we came home from vacation. We'd been gone about 6 weeks and they called us about the day before we came home and say our heat pump was making a funny noise. We had to travel back we got home and at no air conditioning (and then they just came in first away) and this was - yeah- they were there the next morning out here I should say. and they got it fixed. That was in late May and we where having a heatwave. (Recollect cost) No, but it wasn't as much as I expected.

+ -1 moreThey did good work at the time. I know what freon costs and they charged about three times the cost of freon. Freon is $30 a pound and they charged close to $90.

+ -1 moreWe used the same company last year and very happy with the services and the cost. One of the HVAC unit stopped working on the weekend. I called Mike in the morning and he said someone will be there in the afternoon. Danny the technician was here in the afternoon. He was very professional and knowledgable. He fixed the problem in 15 mins. Since we have a warranty for all the appliances, Hvac units, i dont know the actual cost yet but i think its under $100.

Mike called me back the next day and discussed the situation and he said he would have his technician give me a call to set up an appointment, Never got a call back. Funny thing happened when I was looking for another company and writing this review, the technician called me. If it takes 10 days to call me back for an appointment, I can imagine how long service would take. No thanks.

+ -1 moreI was headed to work this morning and traffic was slow and the COOL COMFORT van was behind me. Traffic was slowed because there was a traffic in the lane ahead of me; I waited until I could get passed a tractor. I started to go around the tractor and the van from Cool Comfort then went around me on my left while I was trying to pass the tractor on the left. By the time he got around me the incoming cars had to go off of the road. It is just crazy to drive that. I also called the company but I do not think they will do anything about it. So I thought I would let others know on here.

Description of Work: The workman analyzed the problems with my AC system, which was not cooling at all. He recognized that our system is in its final year or two, but was happy to assist us in stretching out that period by injecting freon into the unit. Over the last four or five years, we have had similar occurences with our aging AC. Over that period of time, we have had a number of well-know companies who regularly advertise on television come out and pronounce our system Dead on Arrival. Almost all of them have insisted that we immediately replace the system. And when they wrote up their estimates, they marked up and DOUBLED the actual cost of the unit they proposed installing, in addition to charging about $100/an hour PER MAN for the two to three man crews they suggested sending out. I have no problem paying a 15 or 20 percent markup on the unit to cover the cost of shipping and delivering it. But doubling its actual cost (naturally without acknowledging that) PLUS charging those kind of per person rates, especially when it seemed that the other two men were primarily there to assist in the grunt work, seemed very unfair. I discovered it can be extremely difficult to find an HONEST AC company. I have gone through at least six to eight written estimates during this period. Out of all of them, I found two to three that were actually honest and fair in their assessments and their prices. This company is one of them. I will now be asking THEM to give me an estimate for replacing my heat pump when it finally comes to the end of its life. These are good guys!

+ -1 moreI called Mike on a Sunday night and he returned my call the next morning. They came around lunch and checked on my AC unit which was freezing up and determined it needed some freon. Charged the system and had me back in cool comfort in no time. A couple of days later the other unit in my house was not coming on. Impressed with the quick service the first time, I called them back. Admittedly, I was thinking in the back of my head if the second vist could have been related to the first. Turns out when they got the second unit open, I simply had a dead bug keeping a connection from making. They cleaned out my unit and checked the freon in the second unit. My fears about the two visits being related were quickly put to rest when the technician told my wife, there would be no charge for the second visit, since they had just been out a couple days before. Thanks for the quick service and not taking advantage of a guy with a dead bug in his AC.

Of course I went straight to angies list and found Cool Comfort. They had a good rating and they were local so I called. They came out within 2 hours and checked the unit. They guy was so nice and friendly and fixed the unit. We were really worried because it was an old unit and we were afraid he was going to say it was too old to fix. It was a great experience with a great serviceman. We have finally found a company that we will use again and again!

+ -1 moreHe came out the next day with another part and replaced the condenser. We just had to pay a $100 tray fee as it was covered under warranty. We didn't have to pay their charges. He was great. He was a very nice person who diagnosed the problem right away. He told us what we needed and when we would have it. His disposition was very nice. He was somewhat witty as well.
