"Excellent!! We have used Mario and his team for 3 years...Spring cleanup and Fall spruce up, mulching and tree/brush removal in our heavily wooded yard. Mario doesn't stop until we are satisfied. If he doesn't answer the phone himself, he is quick to return a phone call and get us on his schedule. Punctual. Very fairly priced. Hardworking. And, they leave our yard clean and well trimmed. No litter left behind. Driveway and sidewalk are spotless. Mario is our secret treasure for a beautiful yard."

"We had the pleasure of working with Pete Bowen and his team on installing an irrigation system. From the beginning of providing a detailed proposal, to managing oversight installation, to testing the new system, and training us in the use of Hunter control, Pete has been personable and professional. He was available in person and an iPhone and answered all our questions. Also, we were surprised that Pete is so experienced with the Backflow process, and able to provide the late Fall closeup and in Spring for start up the system. I would also like to mention that the experienced and industrious guys on installation feel even better that decision had gone with Pete."

"Wilber Bonilla from Greenery landscaping is in the process of landscaping our property, adding a stepping stone walkway and has built us a lovely 16'x32' interlocking paver patio. We are beyond ecstatic with his work. He has great suggestions and listens to our desires in making our property beautiful, but keeping it low maintenance. Once the weather permits he will add a stepping stone walkway and more plants/shrubs. Wilber contacted us through home advisors after we requested a patio estimate. He has been in business for himself for 2 years now but has 15 years experience. Wilber and his team are meticulous and have gone above and beyond our expectations."

Mulch and Topsoil questions, answered by experts

If a big freeze catches you by surprise and you don’t have any deicer to hand, you can reduce the chance of taking a tumble by laying gritty, anti-slip materials. Some natural, readily-available options that don’t melt ice but offer traction underfoot include sand, wood shavings, kitty litter, and fireplace ash.

Yes, it is possible to add too little mulch. Anything less than 1 inch will likely result in too little coverage around your plants, allowing weeds to grow through and minimizing the positive effects that a deeper bed of mulch would have, like maintaining proper soil moisture and insulating the ground.

It depends. High-end colored mulch can be fairly costly. However, you'll have to replace less-expensive natural mulches, like pine needles and cedar mulch, more frequently.

The cost is balanced out somewhat, though, as although you'll have to replace colored mulch less often, you'll have to replenish nutrients in your soil more frequently to make up for the decrease in organic matter and nitrogen from the mulch.

Mulch is best used in garden beds and yards, not in your driveway as pothole filler. It is meant to stimulate plant growth. Upon repeated pressure, it turns into compost, which also serves as fertilizer for weeds to take over. The roots will then break into your driveway, leading to more material loss and structural collapses.

Grass varieties such as tall fescue, zoysia, Bermuda, Bahia, and centipede grow best in sandy soil. These types of grass are drought resistant, so they help retain water and nutrients more easily. Consult a local lawn care company to determine the best type of grass to plant in your sandy lawn.
