The provider arrived lacking some of the usual tools required to provide an accurate quote ie a measuring tape. The provider also returned a non-formal quote that contained a slew of misspellings that looked like a quote a two year old did. Lacking in professionalism and desire in my opinion. Would not use now even if he was the most reasonable.
Description of Work: The provider came out and viewed the area I was having drainage issues with. Also inquired about burying other drainage pipes I was currently using in the yard.

I was not even going to respond to this except to say that this is a very rude review. Customers love our initial informal quote process. It allows us to verify the scope of work is correct before putting things on an official quote form. You asked us to provide a quote for the work you desired. We did that. It is very unfortunate that our expectations were not the same and that you chose to leave such a rude review without even responding back to the quote we provided.

I sent an email inquiry via their website earlier this week. The website says that they respond to emails on the same day that they receive them. I have not received any response. (Please Note: I chose to email rather than call because the and quot;Contact Usand quot; webpage on the provider's website reads as follows: and quot;Have a question? Please contact us! We prefer email, because we have your information in writing and can do some quick research on your problem before we call you back. Since we are out in the field most of the day, voice mails are often returned the following morning. Emails will be replied to the same day they are received.and quot; If same day replies are a challenge with email, and phone calls are preferred, it might be better for this statement to be removed from the website!)

First of all, Jeff Corley carefully surveyed the area and asked me questions. He asked me what I wanted to have as an end result of anything he might propose. I told him that the only thing I could see was to install a french drain to move the water somewhere else. From what he discovered and also suffers from himself, is an elevated water table. He said he could indeed install a french drain, but it would not be the solution I might think it to be. He suggested that as in the past, let the summer heat take care of it. It did. I really appreciated Jeff's honesty. As such, if anything in his realm pops up again, he will be the person I call.
Description of Work: I have a wet area in my back yard. Have had it ever since we moved here 12 years ago. This year, however, it hasn't dried up as in previous years.

Very professional and thorough evaluation of the prpblem. Sideslope provided alternatives to fising the problem. We chose one based on their recommendations. Propmpt repairs and very clean work. One of the few companies that offered the engineering and repairs as a package. We had engineering evaluation performed previously but had trouble finding a company willing to do the repairs. The scope was either too large or too small. They re defintely on our list for future work if we need them.
Description of Work: Gave a consulatation and provided repairs to several drainage issues we were experiencing in our community.

If we had bought the house we would have used this company to do the work. The problem was that the main source of the water flow issue was on a neighbor's property. We couldn't deal with that complexity within the timeframe we had so we did not purchase the house with the annoying and neglected water issue. Therefore we did not move forward with the project.
Description of Work: The company sent someone to give us a quote to deal with some water issue on the side of the property. It involved adding some rocks to encourage the flow of the water in a certain direction along with mitigating an issue with a pipe buried under the back yard which allowed the water to flow thru the property to a drainage area beyond the driveway.

I called Jeff because he was one of the few drainage professionals that was also an engineer. Our project was large and daunting and included surveying and rerouting drainage between 5 homes. There's an 18" storm drain dumping onto a lot which is then carried by a swale from house to house into a neighborhood common area. Pools were built directly in the middle of the swales blocking the water causing massive flooding. Jeff came out and surveyed all of our lots and came up with a route that would alleviate the problem. His estimate was by far the most reasonable but unfortunately with so many neighbors involved, trying to get on the same page made the project difficult. We ended up not using Jeff because the neighbors couldn't agree. We used Jeff's survey results to take to our HOA meeting because it was so detailed. He knows what he's doing and I would call him in a heartbeat for any other drainage issues I face. He's always on time and very knowledgable on drainage.
Description of Work: Hired to evaluate major drainage problems between 5 home owners from water coming off an 18" city storm drain.

Jeff came out, was on time, very professional. The only reason we didn't use this company we were able to get a bid from another company that was much less for the exact work, being retired and watching what we spend, we went with the lower bid.

Work was not to my satisfaction (and I am an easy guy to please). The French Drain installed per his recommendation did not solve the water problem at all. Did not complete drainage pipe to the street, either. 10 feet short, which I have to finish.

We had many communications with this customer. We even reviewed a home inspection report at no charge. Due heavy rains almost daily, we were unable to schedule a site visit as quickly as the customer needed.

Description of Work: Jeff was kind enough to come to my home and examine my property to determine the cause of a drainage problem. He promised to send an estimate for repairs, which he did. The estimate sounded fair but we have decided to wait to do the repairs. I would definitely recommend Jeff from Side Slope.

Description of Work: The pipes on our pool had a leak due to an improper connection between the pool wall and a retaining wall. We also had soil erosion under the retaining wall that was causing our spa to be unstable. We were very concerned that this repair would run around $30,000 for an entirely new wall. Jeff found the root issue and repaired just that issue without trying to sell us a completely new wall. He also installed low walls around our pool equipment and HVAC pads to stabilize both areas. The work was done quickly and professionally. If Jeff needed to reschedule any meeting, he always communicated to let us know what was going on.

Jeff Corley was very responsive. He scheduled a meeting to understand the need. He talked me through the options and prices. He provided a proposal within a week of the initial discovery. Jeff scheduled the work within a week of my acceptance of the proposal. His crew was very professional and were focused on meeting my expectations. After the work was complete and the crew left, I inspected the installation. I asked for one modification. SideSlope made the modification within two weeks. They did not request any payment up front. They said that I would pay when I was satisfied with the work. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely recommend SideSlope to anyone.
Description of Work: Installed a 20 foot long by 3 foot diameter storm drain pipe to extend the existing storm drain on the side of my home. Backfilled with dirt and graded the area. Added seed and straw.

I contacted Sideslope on 9/26/11 and Jeff responded by email very promptly, but he was very busy and by the time he scheduled a date it was mid October although he kept in touch quite well by email. However, I never received a quote.
Description of Work: Contacted Sideslope for a large drainage problem in my backyard having to do with a natural runoff that is about 8' deep x 8' wide and runs beyond the length of my house. The sides of the banks are eroding leaving the root systems of huge trees on top of the banks bare. Plus my backyard is becoming more and more sloped as I lose my land to the runoff.

I liked that they were completely open and honest. They came out and told us matter-of-factly what the problem was, what they were going to do and what the price was. There was no hard sell and no pressure to close. Their price was what I expected it to be and what they have done works. It is a very small business. They respond but they are definitely not in it to make a ton of money. They are very laid-back. They also volunteer to do community work and so the response is not always immediate. They probably need to work a little bit on responsiveness. They were here when they said they would come out. They were very professional.
Description of Work: We used SideSlope Engineering to fix a problem with water flooding our yard and driveway. We have a slope in the back and all the water from the people who live behind us, who are on an incline was coming down into our yard and taking a natural path down our driveway. Our driveway was like a creek; it was like 1 1/2-3 inches deep.

Jeff, the owner, was really knowledgeable and told us a good plan of what they were going to do. He sent out a crew to do it on a Friday of a holiday weekend. He wasn't with his crew and they did not follow his instructions. They just wanted an early weekend. We were displeased with that. Jeff came out and reevaluated it and redid the work himself so that the drains worked. We were disappointed at first, but in the end, we were satisfied.

After a couple of weeks of emails and a week or so delay in the scheduling, SideSlope was able to do the installation. All went well, and Jeff even came back shortly after the installation when we determined (after another rainfall) that additional rip rap was needed. We would definitely hire SideSlope again.
Description of Work: Jeff Corley and his team addressed a complex drainage/erosion issue on a bridge comprising part of our driveway. Storm water was pooling in the driveway, and during heavy rainfall flowed off the opposite corner of the bridge eroding a portion of the creek bank. Seriously heavy spring rains had created a gaping cavern under our concrete driveway! While other contractors only recommended creating a swale at the cavern site, Jeff determined that the problem was the ponding water and adjusted the pitch there, installing concrete swales and rip rap on both sides of the bridge to direct the water toward the creek. We've had many heavy rains since and I no longer worry about our driveway collapsing! Fortunately, we went with Jeff's expertise which resolved the problem. Otherwise, we would have spent a lot more money to address the resulting erosion issues but not the problem creating them.

Jeff was great. Firstly, he was easy to contact via email, was very punctual to our meeting, and very quickly got me an estimate. I was on a tight time frame and he fit me in quickly. Once on site, Jeff and Daryl did a great job of working around my existing irrigation system, plants, and utility cords to successfully install the drains without damaging anything in the yard. Shortly after installation, we got a huge rain storm, and the driveway drain handled all the water with no problem. I got 3 total quotes on this job. One was for $1,500; Jeff and another were both around $1,100. I went with Jeff because he was easier to deal with and more professional than the other company at a similar price point. I would use him again for any drainage project.
Description of Work: Jeff installed a drain in my driveway and a French drain my small backyard, both draining to the back of my driveway.
