Description of Work: The problem was previously diagnosed - roots in lateral sewer line - approximately 15 feet needed to be replaced. Called Eric on Friday - told him to bring small equipment because the backyard is enclosed by a brick wall. He showed up on Monday with a large back hoe which obviously was not going through our double gates. He said pick and shovel work was too backbreaking at his age and convinced us to take down 12 feet of the brick wall that was shifting near the line. Then he told us two trees would have to come down to accomodate his equipment. What a huge mistake to trust him! He charged us $4300 - including $130 for travel - $74 for saw rental (which he told us he ownes) - and $165 per hour. Plus the cost of removing trees - he called in a friend! We think he is by far one of the most unethical people we have crossed paths with in a long time! We asked him to give us a price upfront, but he said he didn't want to shortchange himself. We let things get way out of hand because we thought we could trust him. A huge mistake we will never make again! Our yard is destroyed - it will take thousands more to replace the wall and repair yard. Instead of a 15 foot trench and a $1500 line repair - It's going to end up costing over $10,000.

+ -1 moreI?ve known his family for many years and they are excellent plumbers. When the person came to fix the water heater, the valve that was shipped from the company had not yet reached me. It was a coincidence that while he had just finished replacing it, the person from UPS delivered the new valve. I asked him if he would take some money off since the replacement valve had arrived, but he didn?t agree to that. He was here for about half an hour and charged me $700.
Description of Work: A bad valve in the water heater was leaking and I used Eric Hefner Plumbing to replace the valve. The water heater was still under warranty.

+ -1 moreIT WAS FINE, BUT EXPENSIVE. OUR INSURANCE PAID FOR MOST OF IT. THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
Description of Work: WE HAD A LEAK IN THE WATER LINE TO OUR HOUSE AND THEY REPLACED THE LINE.
