CABARRUS ROOFING

We signed a contract on 11/04/2015,and gave Cabarrus Roofing $8000.00 (part of the $16,500 contracted price) to order the metal with the understanding the roof had to be installed by 12/14/2015 as we had solar panels being installed. Cabarrus Roofing agreed and stated it takes 1-2 weeks to receive metal. Two weeks later on Monday, 11/16, I called for update and was told by the roofer, " I will follow up and push order". No call back that week. All contact with our roofer were initiated by myself: Wednesday,11/25 -was told," still checking but this is a special order, due to color choice-brown. I will follow up and let you know". Monday,11/30 -the roofer said it is still not in but he would come out and measure our entire roof so when it came in he would be ready with all the cuttings required for installation. Thursday12/3 text roofer to see if he had made it out to the house and text came back as he would be out that afternoon.He came out measure and stated the metal is still not in but would check again. Roofer also insured roof would be completed prior to 12/14. Monday, 12/7, I text roofer after 5:00pm on status of metal order. Text came back from him that we have a special metal that takes longer. He would try to do his best to push order Tuesday 12/8 2:00 PM, I called the plant in Fayetteville NC where roofer stated it was being produced,for a status. They stated they did not have my order. I called the roofer and he said he had ordered it from Salisbury NC which ordered from the Fayetteville NC plant. I called Salisbury NC plant and spoke with the manager, Eric. Eric looked up the order through Cabarrus Roofing and said he did not have an order. He also looked under the roofing material type (metal gauge and color) and still did not have an order. The manager stated our metal would be cut and colored in the Fayetteville plant, but still is within the 2-week order time Tuesday,12/8, 5:15 PM we called Cabarrus Roofing and told them there was no order and Cabarrus Roofing still told me the order was in. We gave him a deadline 12/9 by 9:00 am to get back to us. Wednesday,12/9 at 8:20 Cabarrus Roofing called and still claimed they ordered but would return our money, which was returned at 6:00 PM that day by check. Normally the time frame would not be a concerned but due to the solar panels installation and all inspections by Dec 31 for tax credits we had to adhere to this deadline. We explained this to Cabarrus Roofing at time of contract AND upon giving the owner a check for $8000. Our contact repeatedly stated he was checking and following up. We were lied to several different times by the statements of checking up on the order and the order was a special order. We had postponed the solar panels 2 times due to working with the roofer?s schedule. He cashed our check on 11/5/15 and while we did get our money back ,Cabarrus roofing never ordered our metal, kept our money for 30 days, and we never received a metal roof.

The roof was fabulous, but they never came back to finish the job and put up the gutter or do the chimney resealing that they were paid for. They never answered my phone calls, so I had to buy gutters and put them up myself.

THEY WEREN'T HERE ON TIME AND DIDN'T FINISH WHEN THEY SAID THEY WOULD.

DID A GREAT JOB, CALLED ME WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, TOLD ME THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT MY ROOF NEEDED (DIDN''T TRY TO SELL ME A NEW ROOF OR THINGS I DID NOT NEED.)
