Greenwood Hardwood Floors

Greenwood Hardwood Floor company did the installation of the red oak kitchen floor in approx. August, 2009 in our house. The company was chosen and work contracted by the then owners of the house, my husband and I being the new owners as of November 2009. After a dishwasher water accident before closing (late October 2009), Greenwood was asked by the previous owners to come back and do a quote for the repair of the floor after dehumidification using regular dehumidifiers. They did come to do the quote and came a few times to monitor the progress. After closing, we set up a date for removal of the floor but had to call to reschedule this due to a holdup with the insurance company settlement. After I left the message to reschedule, Greenwood Hardwood Floors did not return any calls from either my husband and I, the head broker of our real estate company, or the listing agent of the sellers. Discussing the quote they had originally done on the floor prior to closing was important to the proper settlement with the parties involved and made things very complicated/stressful. To discuss the details of the workmanship of the oak floor itself, we were there for the demolition of the floor (it was unable to be salvaged and repaired) and the floor company who did the work said that between 10-15% of the floor was never even nailed in. Also, they built the dishwasher into the wall and both the plumber and dishwasher repair person said that whatever machine feet adjustment distance there was, there is no way it could be taken out without tearing out the floor. Greenwood's estimate on the repair of the floor was cheaper than other companies, but buyer beware. Both large real estate companies we dealt with in trying to come to a resolution have vowed to never use or recommend their services again due to their very unprofessional behavior of not even calling people back. To tell someone "No, we will not continue this job." is acceptable. To just drop off the face of the earth in the middle of a job is not.
