Blue Wolf Chimney - Sweeping, Repair, Relining, Dryer Vents

Jim, the owner, was terrific! He was very responsive when I said that I needed someone that day. He arrived just a few hours after my call and was able to quickly figure out the problem. It took a couple days to finish the work, but he was professional, pleasant to work with and was on-time. His problem -solving skills made the situation workable and I appreciated the care he took to do the job well. I would certainly hire him again.

Very professional and upfront, from scheduling to pricing, to time to complete the job. Took the time to explain the work to be done and why. Pricing was lower than expected. Very experienced, owner actually does the work himself, not contracted out. Highly recommend Blue Wolf if you want someone who takes pride in their work and treats customers with honesty and respect.

This was a Big Deal so the price was great. I delayed the start for my convenience but we were able to set a date with one phone call. He arrived on time and prepared to do the job as we discussed. I had to go out for a few hours and when I returned the job was done. On one stair I had done a patch myself several years ago but the cement kept coming off. I was especially pleased with the way he integrated his patch with mine to make the stair look seamless. He called to ask if I was pleased with the work. I said I wished the wall patch had a straighter edge. He said he would come back to fix it after the first layer was dry. This made sense since the lost concrete section was too large to do in one layer.

Jim charged us for the visit because the pitch of our roof is very steep (it's a dangerous roof to climb). If work would have been done, he said we could apply half of that cost to the work. However, when Jim inspected the chimney from the roof and attic, he found an even bigger problem than we anticipated. He said there was a liner for our downstairs furnace -- but that the upstairs furnace was connected to the chimney with no liner and because of a metal plate at the top of the chimney around the liner had been completely blocked off, with nowhere for the furnace exhaust to escape. Obviously a very dangerous situation -- so we are so grateful he found it. He suggested that we contact the people responsible for this and insist they fix the problem. We can't thank Jim enough for finding this problem. We would definitely call him again for future services.

Jim was very professional and honest about the work that needed to be done. I felt like he was giving me the truthful assessment of repairs required, which was not the case from another of other providers that quoted for the job.

They would not come out and honor the deal.

We bought the big deal. The experience was pretty good. I think it was our fault so we hired someone to look at our electric fireplace and cleaned it out. We thought that they have part because our starter went out so they didn’t do that. That’s our problem because we didn’t ask them questions. I thought if they work with gas fireplace, they would do that. He was very, very nice. He was here for almost three hours. He left it real nice but the house cleaned. He was here on time. We were able to get him right away on both. I would use them again to clean out the fireplace.

He was professional, cleaned up after himself, and I feel he did a great job. He was honest, and didn't try to automatically "upsell" more services, which I appreciate. Because of that, I will definitely use him again.

Jim arrived promptly, answered my questions, worked quickly, and cleaned up the old rock wool embers and carbon buildup on our gas logs and fireplace. He arranged new embers and volcanic rock in a nice realistic arrangement. Nice guy, and does good work. Would recommend highly.

Jim first came to clean my gas fireplace on an Angie's special price. He took all of the parts out (burner pan, fireplace grate and logs,etc) and since they were over 30 years old the were disintegrating. I ordered a new gas log set which came to the house 2 days later. Called Jim and he came the next business day. He had to redo the connector line because of the age of the gas line. He was efficient, clean and very easy to work with. I'd hire him again without hesitation.

He did a great job. We had just moved into a new house and had no experience with gas fireplaces previously. He walked us through how it works, what we should do for ongoing maintenance and went through safety precautions. He was professional, cleaned up after himself and was overall just a great guy.

They do not work on wood fireplaces.

Being it is a new house my wife and I needed the piece of mind that our inside natural gas fireplace was installed correctly and had a couple questions on a outside log burning w/ gas starter was also safe. Jim took apart the inside unit and checked for operation and cleaned it, while explaining some items about it we did not know. Jim said it was a good unit and was very professional, protected our hardwood floors and cleaned up any mess made. We would definitely do business with him again except he said it is really too far for him to go. We agree and respect that, Jim did however recommend a place that is closer that he said does good work, we would definitely recommend him to others prompt and great follow up. .Thanks Ken & Pat Sokol

Mr. Zilligen of Blue Wolf worked from inside the house and also the outside. There was a missing cap and he replaced it. He also moved and turned dryer to its side and removed all dirt and dubree. He spent time explaining what he was doing and was very professional. I would recommend his services highly.

I was selling my 117 year old home and the buyers wanted me to put a cap and crown on one of the chimneys. It was 31/2 stories high! I needed to get it done ASAP. in order to close on time. Jim from Blue Wolf got the job done right away. It required him to build a frame on top of the chimney and then carry many buckets of concrete up 3 1/2 stories to build the crown. When the concrete dried he went back up to remove the frame and then install the cap. He did a fantastic job! This is something I should have done when I bought the house twenty years earlier to prevent damage to the chimney. If you don't have a proper crown or cap on your chimney you should have Blue Wolf install them. Jim' expertise, reliability, and professionalism is impressive! I highly recommend Jim from Blue Wolf for any chimney maintenance and/or repairs.

Jim from Blue Wolf Chimney came out right away and used his chimney sweeping tools to clear out the dryer vent. He even went to the roof of my six story condo building to locate the problem. Jim was very professional, explained what he was doing and left my home as clean as when he arrived. He was very friendly also!

I live in a townhouse and the dryer vents had never been cleaned. It ended up being a very extensive job and he did wonderfully. He was on time, professional, knowledgeable and informative. Very nice. I would highly recommend him to others.
