Just a fantastic experience right from the start. Even though I called Cooley Roofing in late July, which is busy for roofers, Troy came out that afternoon to look at my roof and give me an estimate. I was determined to talk to at least three roofing contractors before making a decision and Troy Cooley was my second. The first guy seemed very good also, but Troy was so knowledgable and enthusiastic, that I signed a contract on the spot! We even drove around Advance and looked at a couple of roofs with shingles similar to the ones I was considering. One of the things that sold me on the shingles that Troy had available was his guarantee that he would use all Timberline materials and not cheaper ridge cap substitutes. Also, his workers hand nail the shingles instead of using nail guns. It took me several days to decide on a shingle color (I ordered the Timberline GAF architectural shingles in "Barkwood" which look beautiful, but I really wanted the slightly lighter "Driftwood" color which is not available in the Southeast - my only disappointment), but as soon as I called to order, he set me up for installation in less than a week! The guys got there early in the morning and Troy arrived a little later and was in and out, but he has a supervisor there all day. They worked amazingly fast and almost until dark to finish my roof. I have a somewhat complicated roof with two chimmneys and two porches, but they still tore off my old shingles, replaced rotted timber, and put on a new roof in one day. Troy came by to check several times and then returned for the completion. Everyone was friendly and professional. I also ordered a new gutter system from Cooley and he sent the nicest man and his teenage son to install that the next day. Everything was cleaned up and hauled away. While I was initially considering a metal roof, I am so glad that Troy recommended the architectural shingles. They have so much texture and look very similar to cedar shake. Just what I wanted. I cannot say enough good things about the whole experience and have already recommended him to several people.

The quality of materials and workmanship were excellent. The job site supervisor (John) kept us up to date on the progress and did a great job of managing the project and the team! They go the extra mile to create a quality job, all hand nailed, using 2 extra nails per single (2 more than the local code requires, but the number recommended by the manufacturer to get the highest wind rating. The job site was left clean, other than a new roof you'd never know they'd been there. Troy Cooley knows his business and executed just as he described it in his sales presentation to us. Of all the roofing contractors we interviewed his presentation was the most detailed and educational. .

His estimate was competitive with other estimates but he was the only one to personally come by my house to review the estimate and show me the materials that would be used. I got the estimate in the fall but didn't schedule until the following June. The price was the same as quoted. Once I was on his schedule they showed up on time and completed the work on schedule. I vey happy with the finished result. The only negative is that he does not respond to e-mail. The best way to contact is via phone. He was very quick to respond to messages.

Cooley Roofing & Construction was great. I got them off of Angie's List. It was a nice guy that owns the company. He met with me initially and talked to me about the price. He scheduled an appointment and came out. They were going in, in a day and the work was really professional and they followed up again after. Everything went well. One, we picked him off of Angie's List and he was just the most knowledgeable and professional which were the reasons why we picked him.

Could never get them to even return my calls regarding doing some repairs, so didn't use them.

I contacted Troy and he came out the next day to look at the repairs that needed to be done. My dogs had chewed on and pulled two corner pieces of the vinyl siding away from the house. I also had a piece of siding that had a small hole in it from before I moved into the house in 2007. He looked at everything and told me that the vinyl corners i had were not being made anymore but assured me he could find something similar so that it would not be obvious that those two corners were not exactly the same as the rest of the house. He had his siding guy come out the SAME week and fix everything! Everything looks great and you can't tell that I ever had to fix anything! Troy is very professional and gives you all of the details before starting the project. He was also sure to let me know exactly who was coming to replace the siding and what he would be driving so that I would have piece of mind. He called the morning of the repair to let me know they were on their way. I would definitely hire them again!

Replaced portion of roof.

Cooley gave us a lower estimate than the other company we contacted, seemed very well informed about the roof damage and how it should be fixed, and were recommended by our property manager. They showed up on time, did a great job, cleaned up afterwards and stayed on budget. We had a tight time frame for the work, and they made it. Would definitely use them again (although we expect this roof to be good for many years).
