They were very thorough and helped me with everything I needed. They also answered all of my questions. He was a nice young man.

The first appointment was canceled as the service provider was delayed at another site and would be unable to keep the appointment. Although it was a slight inconvenience the office staff was very professional in keeping me apprised of the situation and worked with me to reschedule the appointment. On the second appointment the provider was again delayed from working at a site schedule ahead of mine. The office again kept me updated on the delay and later did let me know when the provider was on his way. The provider arrived 3-4 hours later than scheduled but as we were flexible on time it was not a big interruption. The provider went immediately to work after giving a review of the scope of work needed. We suspected that this was going to be a tough installation for some of the bathrooms as not all could be reached from the attic space. In one of the bathrooms additional cuts to the ceiling drywall needed to be made. The provider did as good a job as possible to re-plaster the ceiling and was very upfront that it would need some paint work. The work took about 2 hours longer than we hoped but was not really surprised seeing the extra labor needed in 2 of the 3 bathrooms. The clean up was adequately done and all old parts were boxed and stacked in our garage when completed. Overall I am quite happy with how the work was done and the outcome of the project.

I would have been OK with the total price going over by $100 or possibly $200, but I was shocked when Anthony Rivera presented me with a bill for an additional $505 above and beyond the $95 I had already paid for Angie?s List deal. Alpha Contracting provided no estimate ahead of time to indicate the cost would go this high, even though they had ample opportunity upon arrival to evaluate the work involved, and alert me ahead of time if their final cost was going to be six times as much as their original deal! Had I known this, I would never have authorized them to proceed with the work. I was also disappointed to see that the Anthony Rivera charged me $80 for the hour he spent driving to and from a Home Depot that was15 minutes from my house to pick up miscellaneous supplies (I had already purchased the fan itself). He could have sent his assistant to pick up the supplies at half his billing rate, but really, no extra trip for supplies should have been necessary in the first place. He knew the work he was coming out to do and should have brought the appropriate supplies with him. When I brought these concerns to Anthony?s attention, he agreed to reduce my total cost from $600 to $295, but I believe my pending review on Angie?s List was the reason he did so. Because he did issue the refund, I am giving him an overall grade of B. However, I am not comfortable with someone who does business this way, and I would not hire him again. Additional Comments: I was very disappointed to read the response provided by Mr. Anthony Rivera on my Angie?s List review of Alpha Contracting back in July. My reason for joining Angie?s list was to read and provide candid reviews on service providers, but I was not prepared for the lengthy personal attack Mr. Rivera posted in response to my review. Contrary to Mr. Rivera?s assertion that ?nothing would please this client,? I actually was pleased that he refunded the amount I was overcharged for the actual work he provided. He makes it sound like this installation was very complex in order to justify the time he spent on the job. In reality it is very common to find pipes, electrical lines and other things when you open a ceiling space. An experienced contractor knows this and simply works with the situation he is given, without all the drama. The fan that Mr. Rivera installed for me was a Panasonic model FV 30VQ3. This fan has received great reviews from others who purchased and installed it (a 4.5 out of 5 stars from nearly 400 reviews on Amazon). So I wasn?t expecting Mr. Rivera to find the installation to be so difficult and time consuming, and I don?t think he should be charging customers for his personal learning curve. I also feel I need to state in my defense that I have given many good reviews to other service providers, when good reviews were earned. Out of the 6 other companies I have reviewed to date, I have given 5 an A rating and 2 Page of Happiness nominations. What concerns me here is that I would hope Mr. Rivera would have learned something after his work for me and would have provided better service to subsequent clients. However, judging from some of his reviews following my project, this apparently was not the case. I was dismayed to read some of the C, D, and F reviews he received from other customers in the weeks following my experience, where they reported perceptions similar to mine related to overcharging. Maybe I am responsible in part for this. One disappointed customer stated that he hired Mr. Rivera because of his previous good reviews. My previous overall grade of B was one of those. I based that grade on the fact that Mr. Rivera did issue a refund after charging my $600 for a project that he should have been able to complete for less than $300. I can see now that my grade may have been misleading to others who only looked at the grade and perhaps did not have time to read my comments. So, based on my service experience with Alpha Contracting, I have revised my overall grade to D.

Anthony arrived and asked to see what needed to be done. I showed him the existing chandelier in our dining room and the new one to replace it. He and his co-worker replaced it without any trouble. He was professional and did a nice job.

The contractor arrived when he said he would and called in advance to let me know of his arrival. There had been a slight miscommunication about work to be done but that was straightened out. He and his assistant did all the work in a very professional manner.

The office staff is amazing...prompt response, follow up, reminder... The electricians were courteous, friendly, competent and neat!

The crew was here on time and were very friendly and professional. The job was a positive experience and went well. The only issue was price. The $95 job turned out to be $215 because of the time factor. One man for two hours, two men for one hour. However, I do understand the time factor and will consider it the next time I hire. Overall, it was a good experience and will definitely use them again!

Anthony and his assistant arrived promptly and proceeded to replace the light fixture that was my main focus for their visit. Anthony also checked the other lights and rewired two of them to operate as motion sensors, as they should have. He gave me various options to consider for some future electrical work. I will definitely call him again.

Anthony and his group are great to work with! He was very responsive to all my questions and worked with my schedule to get the job done. I was unsure what could be done in my kitchen and he helped me evaluate my options. He does quality work and I am very please with the results.

Anthony showed up promptly on schedule and did work smoothly and quickly. My wife and I are very pleased with the result, and have asked him to give us an estimate for more work we may have done in the future.

We will be doing additional work with him over the summer. I was really happy with him because he solved the problem. He was also very prompt and fair.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal special offer for this service. The deal was $95 for two hours of labor and I did not spend any more than that. He was very helpful; I was pleased. The service was excellent; he came on time, did what he agreed to do. He would have stayed longer if I have other things that I needed but I had gotten everything that I needed.

I didn't feel like I got two hours of work done, especially since he was on the phone so much. I also felt like I was charged too much for the materials. If I had known, I would have had someone help me pick them out in the store for a fraction of cost. Lastly, nothing worked because he did not bother to turn the switches in the box back on. I am not that familiar with it, so it too a while before I got my kitchen appliances and bathroom plugs working again.

It went very well. Anthony Rivera is a great electrician. He was clean, courteous, prompt, and performed the job well.

The electrician was very friendly and very competent. He was on time, he did exactly what we asked him to, and he cleaned up after himself. It was great.

Anthony and his helper arrived right on time and were very professional in handling the work required. They explained their reasoning for requiring different types of switches and outlets because of new code requirements. We would definitely use Alpha Contracting again in the future for any electrical work required.

Anthony helped me decide where to place the lights and explained what would look best on my front porch and in my kitchen. They covered the essentials in my kitchen and did a good job cleaning up and removing the trash. Anthony explained each step before moving forward to ensure that I understood the process. He was friendly but professional. I have already recommended him to a neighbor and will use his services again when electrical work is required. All in all a very good experience. Anthony Rivera arrived on time with a work van. He introduced himself and offered his card at the door and was wearing a uniform with the company name on it. We discussed the work to be done and he preceded with it. He performed all work using his tool supply and provided needed supply for completion of job in three hours. He cleaned up all mess and showed me all work performed and went over the bill which I paid with a check. He installed two new ceiling fans and readied another fixture for quick installation in the near future. He was very professional and courteous and conscientious of my home and time. He offered his professional advice on placement and functionality in areas where the fans would be best utilized which was appreciated.

Our home office did not have an overhead light, and we wanted a ceiling fan also. The Angie's List Deal of 2 hours of Electrician Service for 2 hours for $99. was perfect. We also needed a kitchen light fixture installed. We had purchased a light fixture for the kitchen, expecting a simple DIY install. After removing the old florescent fixture, there was a only a junction box, rather than the pre-wired electric box we expected. Both jobs required an electrician to complete. Since we wanted additional work done, we were glad that the deal rate could be applied to the additional work. From our initial call until the work was completed, everything was handled professionally and in a timely manner. The receptionist, Anthony (business owner/electrician) and additional electrician were courteous, efficient and worked diligently. We will be calling them again for future work, and will recommend them to our friends.

They put in an elecrical box for an air conditioning unit.

The work was performed carefully and the finished work was neat. We had a new doorbell installed and Alpha Contracting identified an additional problem with the switch at a side door, which they were able to repair with parts in the truck. Alpha Contracting then updated several dimming switches, removed three double sockets and hung two lights. I am hiring this contractor again.

I used alpha contracting with the big deal. 95 dollar for 2 hours. I had 2 ceilings installed on my patio. He was on time, introduced himself as the owner and immediately starting working. I knew in my mind this going to be more than 2 hrs and prepared to pay extra money BUT I was completely wrong, He did h*** of great job and finished at exactly 2 hrs. No breaks, no finding a reason to slow day. I was very impressed!!...I truly believe in just finding one electrician, one plumber, one landscaper, no Hvac guy and alpha contracting will be my one electrical company

Anthony and Mike were perfect. They arrived on time, were courteous, professional, and installed the equipment exactly as I wanted it. I will definitely be hiring Alpha Contracting again in the near future.
