Description of Work: While the clock was ticking I had to run to the hardware store to get supplies 2 times. Maybe personal communication before the call would have helped; however, I understand some things need to be tested before work can be done. Just disappointed that I had to spend an additional $50.

Description of Work: The electrician came on time and was a nice gentleman. He arrived driving a Lexus (really?) because he said his truck was in the shop. He didn't have a ladder tall enough to do the job, so he talked me through the final installation of the ceiling fan, since I was taller. I was glad to learn a few things from the electrician and that the job was done correctly. But it seems to me a handy-man company ought to have access to an 8 ft. ladder and send electricians who have equipped trucks. I'm sure there's more to the story than I'm aware of, but that was our experience.

Description of Work: The Angie's List ad read" $69 Electrical Service Call". A technician, not an electrician came to my house and could not solve the problem which I had described in my appointment request to the company. The service man said that he did not have the tool required to solve the problem and that I should hire an electrician. That's EXACTLY what I thought I had done! Who in the world would hire anyone BUT a licensed electrician to do electrical work in their home? If someone doesn't know what they are doing, faulty electrical work can cause your house to burn down. Ironically, I live next door to the fire chief. Anyway, I would like a full refund and believe that the Angie's List ad should be reworded. I will say that the serviceman was very polite.

Description of Work: Designed and built a wood/screen covering around and on top of my AC units to keep the leaves out. He designed it to look very nice; the top can be lifted off when service is required on the units. Highly recommend Mike.

Description of Work: Mike Strassner reinstalled backing, insulation, and siding from the front alcove of my house which had been removed to replace the front door and side lights. This was a bit more complicated than it sounds because the geometry of the entrance and the porch had changed, and outside electrical outlets had been installed on each side of the alcove. Then he reattached the left & right porch rails to the house and set the front posts in quick set concrete. Next project: REPLACE an old rotting wooden door to a storage area at the back of the house with a steel entry door... required installing hinges, lockset, deadbolt. Again this was not straightforward because it was necessary to shorten the steel door by about 3 inches at the bottom and CUT OUT an entry opening for a cat entrance to the storage space. Finally, Mike took a look at a deck and storage shed to see if it could be repaired or if it just needed torn down. Tearing down seemed appropriate so that concluded his work for me at this time. I will be using Mike for some future projects.

Description of Work: I used an Angie's list deal of $275 for a handyman for the day. He showed up on time, did the work I asked of him quicker than I thought so he did some additional work that I was prepared to do. Frankly, I was worried that he would work slowly to "milk" the time, but it was quite the opposite. He was professional, honest, and reliable. He did several different jobs of varying complexity and communicated weel throughout the day (even when I had to leave for a couple of hours). I would highly recommend this service to anyone needing some handy man work done!

Description of Work: They were not very aggressive at following up to make an appointment. I guess they have their money, no problem. Me, I have to work a full week to make mine.
