Description of Work: I used Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee for handymen service. They replace the board of the base underneath our sink you know how a lot of time the pipe leaks it will make the base of your cabinet cave in so he replace that and we initially needed him for the ceiling fan so he installed the ceiling fan but he installed the ceiling fan the next day so he kind of charge us to at least he stretched it out to the next day and we paid like it was for like the hour I had to wait for electrician, the electrician wasn't with him he had to get electrician to come in and do the job he's suppose to able to do all of that, it's general contractor he said he do plumbing, electrical and all that other stuff yet he hired different people and they couldn't come the first day so we had to pay that price for the second day because they had to get the guy to come.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
I was confused when I read this customer's review. Sadly they are under the incorrect impression that they were billed additional money for having to come back another day. Frankly speaking, they have understated the amount of work that they had us perform as well as the circumstances under which they were accomplished. I pulled up our records and we were at this customer's home three consecutive days: 6/13/2016, 6/14/2016, AND 6/15/2016. The following is what we accomplished: - Cut out and replace the bottom floor of (1) sink cabinet - Reinstalled trim on the toe-kick board - Repaired rotted sections of wood around the front entry door system - Replaced brick molding and shoe molding around the front entry door system - Caulked, primed, and painted the front entry door system - Replaced a light fixture in the master bathroom - Hung a ceiling fan in the 2-story foyer (which required 2 men for safety and specialty equipment in order to perform that installation) We perform all manner of home maintenance and repairs. Our general technicians each have multiple skills but, for the safety of the customers we only allow our electrician to perform electrical repairs. I told the customer that my electrician was booked the first day but I could go ahead and have the general technician start with the other repairs and they were fine with that. Each day they were given a window of arrival between 8-9 AM. The first day the general technician arrived at 8:45 AM. The second day he arrived at 8 AM. And the third day, the electrician and the general technician arrived at 8:45 AM. All three days, our actual arrival time was within the one hour arrival time given for each day (8am - 9am). The customer was charged for the exact amount of time and material used and not a penny more. The minimum service call didn't even apply because they had more than 4 hours of work performed and they were given a $30 A.L. coupon which made the entire job a flat $45 per man hour (35% below minimum standard maintenance rates for the Charlotte and surrounding areas). It grieves me that some customers will stoop to minimizing the actual work that was performed on their behalf when the work that they requested us to perform was a larger job than what they had hoped it would be. Everything was fine and this customer was happy with the work that we performed and the manner in which our men conducted themselves in their home. They simply did not like the total cost of the repairs and wanted to pay less than what it actually cost. Since they did not get what they wanted on the cost, instead of being thankful that they received a high quality service for their money, they chose to demonize a good company six months later with an embellished review. I find it interesting that we never received one bad comment or complaint directly or indirectly until now. We are an honest company with no less than 15 consecutive years of receiving the Super Service Award in multiple categories. We did not establish that reputation by dragging out jobs and over-charging our customers. Nor would we jeopardize our long standing reputation for the paltry gain of a couple of extra dollars on a job. If you want an honest, quality-minded, and safety-conscious company, call The Bizzzy Bee. We look forward to meeting your home maintenance and repair needs, Vince Curcio-The Bizzzy Bee.

Description of Work: We initially contacted The Bizzy Bee due to concerns regarding rotten wood on our home and to have brick reconstructed on the back of our home. Vince came out to give us an estimate on completing the repairs. We were initially impressed with how he handled his business. He took pictures and we thought listened to our concerns. While he was here, he did point out other issues that he thought should be taken care of and told us he would send us an estimate and we could decide what we wanted to be done. A contract was sent to us and we did review and sign it and sent him a check for materials before the work could be scheduled. Bizzy Bee received the check in April and work did not begin until June. We were told that they were behind but if we knew that the work would not begin until June we probably would have gone with a different vendor. There was some misunderstanding on both of our parts concerning the brickwork, and in the end the brickwork would not be done. In fairness, we should have gone over the final lists of the project elements more closely, as many of these were not on the final contract. We personally would not use Bizzy Bee again to work on our home.

Description of Work: Over billed by thousands, over charged in material, installed wrong product, quoted one price and charged different amount. took out my windows and left them out for three weeks, and then the product was the wrong size, and I got billed for labor. Installed a skylight window by from door and it was a different size then the one on the other side of the front door, so I had no choice but to buy another skylight, and of had to spend yet more money . The overall experience was very, very, very bad, and cost way, way to much. Felt like Vince took advantage of me every way he could.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
This customer has completely distorted the reality of the facts concerning their repairs! I met with this customer over a year ago and provided an estimate for replacement and repair of wood rotted TRIM on specific windows and the front storm door on their home. Also we were going to replace (2) pieces of glass which is VASTLY different than replacing entire window units. For whatever reason, this customer delayed addressing the damage on their home for another full year. Meanwhile those areas of rot continued to leak and expand the damage. Wood rot that is left unrepaired leaves the inner wall and framing susceptible to water intrusion. By the time this customer hired us and we came on site, their simple TRIM repairs and GLASS replacement had worsened, compromising the integrity of the original windows we looked at plus several additional sections of window trim; including, the front entry door sidelight. Also the neglected damage caused interior wall framing damage. This customer created their own additional damage by sheer neglect of long overdue maintenance repairs needed on their home. That is hardly the fault or responsibility of Bizzzy Bee. As hidden damage was discovered, it was shown to the customer and they requested IN WRITING that we make all necessary additional repairs. We replaced (2) of the original windows that were supposed to be glass only and (1) front entry door sidelight which was supposed to be trim only, along with making the additional framing repairs. These were custom windows and a sidelight that had to be special ordered. Additionally, another large triple window with a half round above it (not part of the original contracted repairs) was added to our list of work items; along with (3) addition triple windows with trim and sill rot repair, plus the screens that go on those windows. Hardly a small add-on to the job. The material cost alone was more than the original proposal and this customer actually acted like we had jacked up the bill??? I was shocked and honestly insulted that they thought we were trying to take advantage of them. After the initial removal of the rotted trim, when we realized that the rot damage had been allowed to go on too long, a decision was made with the customer’s full knowledge and agreement to pull the rotted windows, repair the damaged framing and cover those areas with protective plywood and plastic while we wait for the new windows to come in. We have no control over custom window lead times or any other lead times of a special order item. When our vendor ordered the windows and sidelight, they ordered the correct sizes. When they came in, one of them was manufactured at the wrong size but it was not caught by them before we picked it up. The vendor re-ordered the replacement and agreed to cover any additional labor for their mistake. The wrong sized window had NOT been installed as this customer claims because it was too large to fit in the opening. But was only delivered, and this customer was NOT billed as they have claimed for any additional labor that was attributable to the wrong sized window. The sidelight by the door was ordered correctly. Unfortunately for this customer, the building codes that the manufacturer is governed by had changed. It did not change the overall perimeter dimensions, but the codes did change the inside perimeter dimensions of the glass. Sidelights today have to meet specific high wind ratings. We had no way of knowing that this customer’s sidelight did not meet current codes. We can only replace with what is available and allowed by current building codes. This left the customer with a sidelight that was mismatched with the other one. Changes in code are beyond our control and the customer had allowed the rot on the sidelight go so long, that there was no repairing it. It had to be replaced. They CHOSE to delay the repairs, they CHOSE to have all of the additional repairs completed, they CHOSE to replace the other sidelight to match the new side light. And now, they want to cry foul when the consequences of procrastination cost them substantially more money. Throughout the entire process, each repair that changed in scope of work was shown to the customer and they were fully aware and requested in writing that we complete the addendum repairs. They also added other work that was unrelated to the original scope of repairs such as replacement of window screens. Did we suddenly go from an honest and upstanding company to a criminal organization that robs people of THOUSANDS of dollars? I hardly think so. The fact is that when I was unwilling to NEGOTIATE the final bill with this customer, after they got all of their repair needs met, they have now turned to attack and demonize my company. Because I did not allow them to take advantage of me or my company, they used threats of putting in a bad report to Angie’s List, but we have way too many good reports that speak to our real character and the genuine quality of our service. We stand ready to serve anyone who needs our help and we will do all that we can to assist each and every customer to the best of our ability with a quality service. Vince Curcio, The Bizzzy Bee.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
While I appreciate this customer's positive feedback, I would like to clarify how we invoice. When we write a work order or addendum to a work order, it clarifies the work to be performed. This takes place prior to any work being performed. When we invoice the completed work, we invoice based on the written work order. There is no reason to rewrite the same information twice; once on the work order and once again on the invoice. The invoice clearly states that it is for the approved work per the written and signed work order. We will write the information twice when requested by a customer, but this is actually unnecessary because all the information has already been listed and the customer is given a copy before the work begins. We do not perform any work that has not been agreed upon, so there should be no questions as to the scope of work being billed. I hope that this clarifies why and how we invoice the way that we do. We look forward to serving you as needed, Vince C. at The Bizzzy Bee.

Description of Work: The service was reasonable, and the handyman was helpful. I was quite displeased when I paid the handyman to get some items at the store and he came back without all of them. That is pretty unreasonable for a well-established company and especially with their rates. They should definitely implement a system to help prevent such silly errors with appreciable economic consequences.

Description of Work: This provider was very responsive and had a great "service" attitude. I called them for help on some minor issues at a rental and they responded immediately and scheduled a convenient time with my tenant. They hung mini blinds and painted a hall and bathroom ceiling after a roof leak was fixed. As I understand it, they could have fixed the roof leak too!
