Absolutely excellant work. The work required skill and muscle power; and they did everything just right. This work took them well over 100 hours to do, as I did have a lot of things I needed fixed. This is real value to me to have a company that can do such a broad range of skilled service and for a good price. I would have paid much more if I had specialists come in for each little job, and doubt the work would be any better. Highly recommend this company!!!
Description of Work: I had a long laundry list of things to repair on my house. This list involved replacing rotting wood under gutters, gutter replacement/improvement, leveling areas under my deck and play area, removing old play structure, drainage issues from the gutter spouts (digging drain pipes in the ground), making a platform for my rain barrel, cleaning/preparing deck for restaining, cleaning mildew off patio roof, and probably a few other things I am forgetting (I procrastinated by 4 months in sumitting this report).

Bizzy Bee did a great job. Within 2 hours of calling their number, the owner (Vinnie) called me back and was able to schedule my work within 3 days. I had to reschedule our original Friday appointment because my wife and kids were sick, but Vinnie was able to work me in on the following Monday. Patrick was the person who actually did the work in the house and he did a fantastic job. My wife commented on how professional and courteous he was and he even offered up some advice on some small jobs that we could do ourselves around the house. I've used a couple other "Handyman" services, but Bizzy Bee by far has been the best and will be the only service I use going forward.
Description of Work: Bizzy Bee re-caulked a shower and replaced floor molding outside of shower that had been damaged due to water leakage. They also replaced some additional floor molding in our kitchen.

We originally found them to do screen repair, then a more major roof repair and most recently find a leak and repair the gutter. Every engagement has been a total pleasure from start to finish.
Description of Work: Bizzy Bee has done a number of projects for us. They are totally honest, about what needs to be done, about getting it done without wasting money and in their determination to make everything they do lasting.

Their work was eqsuisite. I love their work. They came a day early. They charged me an arm and a leg! I had the invoice in my hand and not even 5 seconds later Vince was asking me when he could expect payment. I told him that I hadn't even had a chance to look at the invoice. As I looked at the invoice I noticed that he had not given us our Angie's List discount. You couldn't get better work. They were top-shelf on the work. Vince was a little snappy when he called about the invoice, and that left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I thought about not having them back. As far as professionalism, the team was an A+++, but Vince on the call about the invoice ruined the whole experience for me. The guys that were here working were pleasant, cleaned up after themselves, and went the extra mile. I would have promptly called them back and recommended them if it had not been for Vince. They could have told me when they showed up for the job an approximate cost of the job and how they expected payment, but the didn't and all of that with Vince could have been avoided. I would maybe hire them again.
Description of Work: They came in and assembled furniture, hung pictures and artwork, and moved furniture.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
AS I AM READING YOUR REPORT, I AM SADDENED THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN SUCH OFFENSE WITH ME OVER THE ISSUE OF MY EXPECTATION OF PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION OF OUR WORK. IT IS A STANDARD EXPECTATION IN THE INDUSTRY. I WAS ACTUALLY SURPRISED WHEN MY LEAD MECHANIC TOLD ME THAT YOUR COMPANY WAS NOT PREPARED TO MAKE PAYMENT AT THE COMPLETION OF THE WORK AND THAT HE WAS TOLD TO LEAVE A BILL, THAT A PAYMENT WOULD BE MAILED IN. I MADE IT CLEAR TO YOUR CO-WORKER WHO MADE THE ARRANGEMENTS WITH ME FOR SERVICES THAT WE WERE ABLE TO PERFORM ALL OF THE TASKS THAT YOUR COMPANY REQUIRED AND THAT WE WOULD COLLECT FOR THE WORK UPON COMPLETION. SO NATURALLY NO ARRANGEMENTS HAD BEEN MADE FOR A DELAYED PAYMENT. AFTER YOU AND I DISCUSSED THE ISSUE YOU AGREED TO WRITE ME A CHECK FOR HALF THE AMOUNT AND I HAD TO WAIT TWO WEEKS FOR THE REMAINING BALANCE. I DID NOT GIVE YOU A HARD TIME NOR WAS I DEMANDING. I SIMPLY PRESENTED THE FACT THAT I WAS NOT PREPARED TO WAIT FOR THE PAYMENT WHEN NO SUCH ARRANGEMENT HAD BEEN MADE. I SIMPLY ASKED YOU TO PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT AND WRITE US A CHECK FOR THE SERVICES RENDERED. IF THAT WAS RUDE AND UN-PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR ON MY PART, THEN I APOLOGIZE. BUT PLEASE CONSIDER THAT IF ANOTHER COMPANY CAME TO DO WORK FOR YOU I AM SURE THAT THEY ALSO WOULD HAVE EXPECTED PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION UNLESS OTHER ARRANGEMENTS WERE MADE IN ADVANCE. WHAT UPSETS ME IS THAT YOU MAKE IT SOUND AS IF I WAS RUDE OR OBNOXIOUS WITH YOU ON THE PHONE AND THAT IS NOT TRUE. I WAS HONEST AND STRAIGHT FORWARD BUT NOT RUDE OR OBNOXIOUS. YOU WERE SIMPLY UPSET BECAUSE YOU DID NOT WANT TO STOP WHAT YOU WERE DOING AND TAKE 5 MINUTES TO WRITE A CHECK. YOU SAID YOU HAD THE BILL 5 SECONDS AND I WAS ON THE PHONE DEMANDING PAYMENT, AND THAT IS NOT TRUE EITHER. THE FACTS WERE THAT MY MECHANIC HAD LEFT THE BUILDING CALLED ME TO EXPLAIN THE SITUATION AND THEN I HAD TO CALL YOUR COMPANY TO FIND OUT WHO I NEEDED TO SPEAK TO AND FINALLY GOT PASSED ON TO YOU. THIS PROCESS TOOK ABOUT 20 MINUTES AND BY THAT TIME A CHECK COULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN. IF YOU WERE CAUGHT OFF GUARD AND DID NOT EXPECT TO PAY THE BILL WHEN SERVICES WERE RENDERED I AM SORRY BUT YOU SHOULD NOT BE OFFENDED BY MY ASKING FOR PAYMENT UPON COMPLETION OF THE WORK. NOW MY MECHANIC DID NOT REALIZE THAT YOU HAD GOTTEN US FROM THE ANGIE'S LIST AND THAT IS WHY HE FAILED TO PUT IN THE DISCOUNT WHEN HE INVOICED THE JOB. IT WAS A MINOR COMMUNICATION ERROR ON MY PART AND I CORRECTED IT IMMEDIATELY WITH MY APOLOGIES. MOST COMPANIES GET US FROM A DIFFERENT SOURCE AND I FAILED TO TELL HIM THAT YOU GOT US FROM THE ANGIE'S LIST. IT WAS A VERY HECTIC DAY FOR ME AND I AGAIN APOLOGIZE FOR THAT ERROR, IT WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. AS FOR THE COST OF THE JOB, WE CAME TO YOUR OFFICE THAT DAY FOR THE FIRST TIME TO A ROOM CRAMMED FULL OF BOXES WITH MULTIPLES PIECES OF FURNITURE AND DESKS. EACH BOX CONTAINING A MULTIPLE OF PIECES PLUS PICTURES, MEMO BOARDS AND SO ON. WE WOULD NOT HAVE ANY IDEA HOW LONG EACH PIECE OF FURNITURE WOULD TAKE AS WE HAD NOT EVEN SEEN THE MATERIALS OR INSTRUCTIONS. IT TOOK A TEAM OF MY MEN A DAY AND A HALF TO ASSEMBLE, INSTALL AND HANG EVERYTHING THAT YOU GAVE US TO DO. THEY WENT AS FAST AS THEY COULD, MAINTAINING SAFETY AND QUALITY OF WORKMANSHIP. IN THE END, EVERYONE INCLUDING YOU, WAS PLEASED WITH THE WORK AND THE SPEED AT WHICH THE WORK WAS COMPLETED. SO REALLY THIS IS JUST ABOUT THE FACT THAT I CALLED BACK TO ASK FOR SOME MEASURE OF PAYMENT RATHER THAN JUST WAITING FOR A CHECK TO COME WHENEVER IT MAY COME. I STAND READY TO GIVE YOU THE SAME EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE THAT YOU RAVED ABOUT AND IF YOUR COMPANY NEEDS TO MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS THAT IS FINE. I ONLY ASK THAT WE COME TO THAT AGREEMENT BEFORE THE WORK IS COMPLETED. VINCE CURCIO, THE BIZZZY BEE.

I first called Vince to talk about nailing down the metal sheeting on the roof of my carport, which was blowing free in a high wind. There was rotted wood underneath and at first they thought they'd just have to rebuild a corner of the shed. But it turned out that things were a lot worse up there than they thought, once they went in and started working. I basically had a large shallow swimming pool on legs up there, with green matter growing and everything. So they ended up doing an entire redesign of the carport roof to give it a slight pitch so that the rain will roll off (it does) and repair all the rotted wood. It was more than I wanted/planned to do with the structure, which was poorly planned in the first place, but Vince gave me the rundown on what it would cost to remove vs. repair vs. completely replace and I decided the repair was the best option for the moment. I can't really comment on price because the way the whole thing went, I did not get competing bids, but given my previous experiences with roofing type jobs I think it was probably pretty reasonable. The whole structure looks much less seedy now and there are no more plants growing out of my roof.

It was not a good experience. The work was ok, but I had discrepancies about price and the work that was done. All of the work I could have done myself, so I know how certain things should be done. One of the materials I provided was a mailbox with a stand, and I know that it takes a half a bag of concrete to install, which I provided. They told me that wasn't enough, so they bought more concrete. It made me feel like they thought I didn't know what it took to install the mailbox. It's not like we were talking about a steel rod pipe; it was a thin pole- not very heavy, just enough to hold up a mailbox. The garage door opener was the biggie. I have used other companies to do garage doors, but I told Bizzy Bee that I would hire them if they could do it for the same price or cheaper because I wanted to promote the handyman business. The way they described it to me, their prices were running about the same. I bought the garage door opener from a home improvement store, and the installation should only have cost $300. They wanted to charge me $500-600 after they were done. Also, they did not put all of the garbage in the trash cans. They didn't break down the boxes, so it didn't all fit. So I had to go back and do a clean up of the area. Overall, the work was ok, but I didn't like some of their tactics. I made it clear that I was not an idiot and that I know about this kind of work. We had a shouting match over the price on the phone, and I told them I wasn't going to pay it. They gave in somewhat, but I won't say I am happy with what I received. The work took longer than they promised. I was trying to be flexible, but they took advantage of my flexibility. I will not be using them again.
Description of Work: They did a number of repairs for me. They installed a garage door opener, two interior bedroom lights, a mailbox and pole, an exterior front lamp, a bathroom mirror and half-bath, a door security latch, and a deadbolt latch in door knob.

WE DID THIS JOB FOR YOU AT THE END OF OCTOBER 2008. I DO REMEMBER THE JOB AND I PULLED OUT YOUR PAPERWORK AND WENT OVER MY NOTES. THE TOTAL JOB WAS BILLED AT $658.35 OF WHICH YOU WOULD ONLY PAY $568.35 BECAUSE YOU FELT THAT THE JOB TOOK TO LONG. NOW IN YOUR COMMENTS YOU MADE IT OUT LIKE WE WERE CHARGING YOU 500-600 TO INSTALL A GARAGE DOOR OPENER WHICH IS NOT TRUE. I WILL GLADLY GO OVER THE PAPERWORK WITH YOU OR ANYONE ELSE WHO WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE PAPERWORK. IF YOU DO, YOU WILL SEE THAT WE WERE BILLING YOU FOR 9 SEPARATE JOBS, ONE OF WHICH WAS THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER. THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER WAS THE LARGEST JOB ON THE LIST BUT JUST ONE ITEM, A SLIGHT EXAGGERATION ON YOUR PART. THE FACT IS THAT YOU SUPPLIED THE MATERIALS FOR THIS JOB AND WE DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH MATERIALS FOR THE MAIL BOX INSTALLATION OR THE GARAGE DOOR INSTALLATION. WHEN I TOLD YOU THAT WE HAD TO GET MORE MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THE JOB, I DID NOT INSINUATE THAT YOU WERE STUPID I MERELY GAVE YOU THE FACTS CONCERNING THE JOB. WHEN YOU BEGAN TO ARGUE WITH ME ABOUT WHAT WE NEEDED TO DO THE JOB I TRIED TO EXPLAIN TO YOU WHY WE NEEDED MORE MATERIALS AND YOU ACCUSED ME OF TRYING TO TAKE YOU FOR A RIDE. I DO NOT NEED TO LIE TO PEOPLE AND SCAM PEOPLE OVER A BAG OF CONCRETE AND HARDWARE TO MAKE A LIVING. YOU WERE INSULTING TOWARD ME AND FRANKLY IGNORANT ON THE PROPER WAY TO DO THE JOB AND IN THE END YOU ROBBED ME OF WAGES DUE. THE HALF BAG OF CONCRETE YOU LEFT US WAS JUST ENOUGH TO SECURE THE POST IN THE GROUND BUT NOT ENOUGH TO KEEP IT THERE OVER TIME. THE NATURAL USE OF THE BOX AND WEATHER WOULD HAVE CAUSED THE POST TO SAG OVER TIME. BY SIMPLY ADDING ADDITIONAL CONCRETE TO THE BASE THAT PROBLEM IS AVOIDED. I WAS WORKING IN YOUR BEST INTEREST. YOU ALSO SHORTED US ON FASTENERS AND BRACKETS FOR THE GARAGE DOOR INSTALLATION. WE HAD TO GET MORE MATERIALS WHICH TOOK TIME. YOU ALSO DID NOT WANT TO HEAR THE FACT THAT THE SUPPLY WIRES FOR THE GARAGE DOOR OPENER HAD TO BE EXTENDED IN ORDER TO COMPLETE THE JOB. AGAIN MORE TIME MORE COST. WE WERE A TOTAL OF TWO HOURS OVER MY ORIGINAL ESTIMATE WHICH YOU REFUSED TO PAY EVEN THOUGH THE REASONS WERE JUSTIFIED. INSTEAD YOU INSULTED MY INTEGRITY BY FALSELY ACCUSING ME OF WRONG DOING AND ROBBED ME OF MY WAGES. AS FOR THE TRASH, YOU ARE SADLY MISTAKEN. WE NEVER LEAVE A JOB SITE WITHOUT FIRST CONDUCTING A THOROUGH CLEAN UP. IT WAS 5 MONTHS AGO AND I KNOW THAT YOU HAD OTHER PEOPLE WORKING ON YOUR HOME AT THAT TIME, SO I BELIEVE YOU HAVE CONFUSED US FOR ANOTHER CONTRACTOR. IN-SPITE OF YOUR ILL WILL TOWARD US I WISH YOU WELL.

I have used Vince and team several times and he always shows up when promised to work out estimate. Job was done in two parts: electrical and pipes. The electrician ran the wiring, installed a new switch, and installed the fan in the ceiling. I purchased the fan I wanted. Work was fine. The next week the worker came to install the vent pipes and cut through the roof so moisture could exit. He cam and measured, went out and purchased what he needed and installed it. So far everything is working well. No leaks from the roof and the fan is getting the moisture out of the bathroom. Only drawback is that it took two different people to complete this job. Granted, electrical and roofing are different skills. Overall, I am very satisfied and plan to continue using this team.

I sent an e-mail over the weekend and they scheduled someone to come out first thing Monday morning. They explained their cost structure and two-hour minimum. The technician called before coming and came to the appointment on time. He then promptly diagnosed the problem and went to the Home Depot for the part. He came back promptly with the wrong part. He returned to the store and came back 40 minutes later. During that time I contacted the company with my concerns and the owner responded quickly. The technician returned with the correct part and proceeded to put the handle on backwards. He corrected the error and we believed that the dripping faucet was repaired. He explained that the problem could be caused by another failing part and if so, would require more extensive repair. I returned from work the same evening to find that the faucet was still dripping but much less than before. This morning, I turned on my shower and no hot water was coming through the faucet (hot water was flowing through the showerhead prior to the repair). I left the shower running for 15 minutes and still no hot water. I returned to taking a shower in my spare bathroom and promptly called another plumber. This company has really good follow through but they need to back it up with the quality of their work. (The technician also tracked mud up the stairs but did apologize for it and I was able to clean it quickly).

I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED BY YOU THAT THE FAUCET WAS STILL LEAKING. I CANNOT RESOLVE A PROBLEM IF I DO NOT KNOW THAT IT EXISTS. WHEN YOU CAME HOME FROM WORK AND FOUND THAT THE FAUCET WAS STILL DRIPPING YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED ME AT THAT MOMENT AND WE WOULD HAVE COME OUT AT NO COST TO YOU TO INVESTIGATE THE PROBLEM. YOU ONLY VOICED ONE CONCERN WHEN WE CAME OUT THE FIRST TIME AND I ADDRESSED YOUR CONCERN IMMEDIATELY. YOU WERE CONCERNED THAT YOU WOULD BE CHARGED FOR THE ADDITIONAL TRIP TO GET A NEW PART. AS I EXPLAINED TO YOU THEN WE DO NOT CHARGE OUR CUSTOMERS FOR OUR MISTAKES, WE FIX THEM AND MOVE ON. MY TECHNICIAN CORRECTLY EXPLAINED TO YOU THAT THE PROBLEM YOU HAD COULD BE CAUSED FROM A COUPLE OF DIFFERENT REASONS. WE TRY THE LEAST EXPENSIVE REPAIR FIRST AND THEN IF THAT DOES NOT WORK WE WILL DO THE MORE EXPENSIVE REPAIR. I DO NOT KNOW IF THE NEW PART FAILED OR IF YOU NEEDED AN ADDITIONAL REPAIR BECAUSE YOU NEVER GAVE US A CHANCE TO SEE WHAT WAS WRONG. SOME TIMES NEW PARTS CAN BE BAD OUT OF THE BOX. WHEN MY TECHNICIAN LEFT YOUR HOME THERE WAS NO LEAKAGE AND THE WATER VALVE WAS WORKING CORRECTLY. YOU STATED THAT MY TECHNICIAN PUT THE HANDLE ON BACKWARDS BUT THE PART IN QUESTION WAS NOT THE HANDLE IT WAS THE CARTRIDGE BEHIND THE HANDLE AND IT WAS NOT PUT ON BACKWARDS AS YOU ASSUMED. IT CAN BE SET ONE OF TWO WAYS DEPENDING ON THE FIXTURE AND WE HAVE A 50/50 SHOT OF GETTING IT CORRECT THE FIRST TIME. IT HAS NO MARKINGS TO DISTINGUISH WHICH WAY IS THE CORRECT WAY FOR THE DIFFERENT FAUCETS THAT ARE ON THE MARKET. SO WE PUT IT IN AND IF IT DOES NOT SET CORRECTLY WE FLIP IT AND CONTINUE. THE DIFFERENCE IN THE TIME IS A MATTER OF MINUTES. AS FOR THE MUD THAT MY TECHNICIAN TRACKED IN, IT WAS TWO SMALL SPOTS. WHEN HE STARTED TO COME IN HE NOTICED THAT HE WAS TRACKING SOME MUD AND STOPPED IMMEDIATELY TO TAKE OFF HIS BOOTS. HE THEN ASKED YOU FOR A WET RAG TO WIPE UP WHAT HE TRACKED IN BUT YOU TOLD HIM NOT TO WORRY ABOUT IT THAT YOU WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. WHY HAVE YOU EVEN MENTIONED SOMETHING SO TRIVIAL AFTER YOU MADE IT CLEAR THAT IT WAS NO PROBLEM? WE DO NOT PROFESS TO BE PERFECT BUT WE DO OUR VERY BEST TO GIVE A TOP QUALITY SERVICE TO OUR CUSTOMERS. WE COMMUNICATE TO OUR CUSTOMERS WHAT THE POSSIBLE PROBLEMS CAN BE CAUSED FROM AND TRY TO KEEP THE REPAIRS TO A MINIMUM. WITH OUR TRACK RECORD IT IS CLEAR THAT WE ARE DOING A GOOD QUALITY JOB ON A VERY CONSISTENT BASIS AND MOST OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS. I ONLY WISH THAT YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS CRITICAL. IF YOU HAD SIMPLY COMMUNICATED ANY CONCERNS WITH US I AM SURE THAT YOU WOULD HAVE BEEN SATISFIED WITH THE END RESULTS AND NOT WASTED YOUR RESOURCES ON ANOTHER PLUMBER. WE STAND READY TO SERVE YOUR NEEDS IN THE FUTURE SHOULD YOU DECIDE TO GIVE US ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO DO SO. VINCE CURCIO THE BIZZZY BEE.

I called on a Friday. I received a call back later that evening. We worked out an estimate over the phone with me describing the work in detail. Vince, the owner, spoke to me and explained the reasoning behind his estimate. I had a feeling he was estimating on the high side(and he was). The workman arrived right when I expected him, and completed his work quickly and efficiently. He asked for my feedback a few times during the job. He was done in about 4 hours total. The two things he did were completed to my satisfaction.

I called The Bizzzy Bee for an estimate and they scheduled an estimate appointment that week (11/7/2008). Vince came out and estimated the work and let us know that it would be about 3 weeks before they could schedule it. We thought that we needed to purchase a new back door but Vince was honest enough to tell us that the one we had could be repaired. I especially appreciated that. The work was scheduled for 12/9/2008 and Josh showed up on time, developed a materials list, and left to purchase the materials. He returned in a reasonable time frame and got right to work. It was a full day to finish these tasks and the end result was excellent. I also appreciated that they offer a discounted hourly rate to Angie's List customers. I am very satisfied with the company and the work and will not hesitate to call them again.
Description of Work: Back Door of House - Replaced the door jam, leveled and re-set door. Door to house crawl space - built new door and re-attached with new hinges and latch. Steps to garage - replaced treads on 2 wood steps.

When Vince was at my home doing an estimate for some painting/drywall work he made a suggestion regarding repairing my bathroom cabinets. We went forward on his idea's and I couldn't be happier! They took out the old flooring put in new supports and flooring PLUS added some vinyl to the floor and sides of the cabinet then sealed it. The job looks awesome and I couldn't be happier!
Description of Work: To replace the damaged flooring of three bathroom cabinets.
