Terrific. Duane and Gary did a great job. They made sure I was happy with all the work performed, they made sure everything worked effectively and properly, and cleaned up every day before they left. Very pleased!
Description of Work: The main service was to install 3 replacement bathroom exhaust fans, and install a new bathroom exhaust fan over a shower to resolve moisture issues. They also installed a new ceiling fan, installed dimmer switches on the front porch light switch, and dimmer/fan switch control on existing ceiling fan. Also installed two recessed lights.
The Bizzzy Bee crew were easy to deal with and dependable. They made sure the job was done correctly and if not, responded immediately to correct any problems. Plus, they were very punctual and gave you plenty of notice when they were coming. My only recommendation for improvement would be to have a better system of calculating and relaying the cost of work done at the time of the completion of the job. A positive is that they don't mark up materials that are purchased to accomplish the repairs. The negative is that you're not sure how the repairs are tallied. With the exception of the invoicing process, I would have no hesitation at using Bizzzy Bees again and I intend to do so in the near future.
Description of Work: Repaired threshold and doorways that exhibited wood rot. Repaired popcorn ceiling and leak around skylight Installed under cabinet lighting in kitchen painted woodwork in bathroom removed and installed new attic stairs repaired front door installed ceiling fans

The disposal is top of the line and is as quiet as our new dishwasher (you almost don't even hear it running). The 3 bathroom light/fans are top of the line--- quiet, efficient and very attractive looking---well worth the wait for the special order. The bathroom tile/grout touch-up work made it look just like it did when it was regrouted 15 months ago (the master shower is used by 2 people every day and takes the brunt of water, shampoo and soap damage). Vince had to have the grout redone once when the colors didn't quite take but he did that without question--again, his policy is that the customer is perfectly satisfied with every job. He takes that creed to heart. We had absolutely no issue with Vince or his company and that's the reason we were back for the third time to use him. He's a rare breed of service provider and will always be our first call when we need help.
Description of Work: I've used Vince Curcio twice before and decided to use him again when we needed a new disposal in the kitchen, 3 new bathroom fan/lights and some touch-up work on the tile in our master shower (which they regrouted 15 months ago). Vince has a plumber on call, an electrician on call and a general purpose handyman---all excellent. The work began 12/8/09 with the disposal installation, took a bit longer on the 3 bathroom fan/lights since they had to be special ordered due to our needs of having a regular light, night light, fan and heater in them, and was finished up on 1/29/10 with the tile/grout touch-up. As always, Vince does not submit a bill until all the work is completed to the customer's satisfaction.

It went perfectly. My house looks great, as well as my deck, all the mildew from the summer is gone. I have used The Bizzzy Bee's services before for pressure and other things and have always been more than satisfied. Vince Curcio, the owner, responds to calls fast, gives estimates and then sets the job. They are always on time and very personable. I highly reccomend this company.Josh did the pressure washing and did a wonderful job!

It went excellent from start to finish. I have a hard time paying for work that I can do myself but this time I made the right call by calling Bizzzy Bee. Sometimes the time saved is more valuable than the money. Yes, I saved a lot of time and misery by allowing Bizzzy Bee to handle this repair. Initially, I thought that my window needed caulk but I was very wrong. Vince's brother handled this repair brilliantly. He removed multiple pieces of siding to determine location of the leak and why it leaked. He adjusted, caulked, enlarged weep holes in all windows and put everything back together. My windows are not top quality but now I feel alot better about keeping my house dry. DON'T WORRY ABOUT CALLING THESE GUYS THEY ARE DESERVING OF THEIR HIGH RATINGS....

It went well, with reservations. Duane, who performed almost all of the work, was exemplary. He was very flexible and willing to adapt the work order as the job changed due to additional repairs and working with insurance. He was always friendly and pleasant. The owner of the company, Vince Curcio, was extremely nice to work with, though he seemed alittle harried, and he left me a message intended for another customer about not being able to come take my roof off (!!) due to the weather...all in all, he was very very nice to work with, and I would still absolutely recommend The Bizzzy Bee. I had an okay experience with another employee who came to help, but Duane and Vince were just great to work with.
Description of Work: I hired the Bizzzy Bee to help with repairs in my home following water damage and redone hardwood floors. Duane replaced the insulation and moisture barrier in my crawlspace, and he painted the shoe mouldings where hardwoods were replaced. He also had to replace two baseboards with complex trim and finis

I am glad that you were very pleased with your overall experience. I do apologize for the message intended for another customer, I had 15 calls to make that morning and simply read the wrong line as I was looking at your name. I also want to apologize if I gave you the impression that I was in a hurry while speaking with you. I spoke with you on several occassions as your project was being completed and did not realize that I was giving you that impression. AMAZING. He is so talented at what he does. We had funky wiring in our third bedroom where the switch controlled all the plugs, including one in the hallway. He took all the plugs off the switch, and converted the switch to a ceiling light/fan. So, he ran new wiring for that and installed all the hardware in the ceiling. He also moved the wiring and installed a can light in another room. He is so dedicated and excellent. He is our go to electrician.

They showed up and did the work and did a great job. The work looks great. I feel like the company should have given me a heads up with work schedules and postponing the job. I felt like maybe I was too small of a job for them. There was a lot of miscommunication. I feel like it is partly my fault for not reading the fine print.
Description of Work: I needed the house pressure washed and all of the shutters taken down and replaced. By going through Angie;s List I felt they would be a good match.. They were prompt in coming out and gave me an estimate. I was in line to have this done the first of October and the weather got in the way. I did not hear anything for awhile and I called them and set it up for another week in November. In the meantime, I found someone who would do the shutters for me. On the estimate in the fine print, The Bizzzy Bee stated they were charging me about $47 an hour. They were out looking for the shutters and calling around. They charged me for all of this. They were going to charge me for hauling away the old shutters and removal of the packaging for the shutters. I found out through a contractor they normally charge about $10 a shutter to put them up and they were charging me $315 for 9 sets. I felt like I was getting nickeled and dimed on this.

I pulled up your file to review the information on your job. When we first took on your job you were told that we were three weeks out at that time. When your job came due to be done, your job was delayed several times due to bad weather. You even admit that in your report. We spoke several times from the time we took the job to the time that the job was completed. When you were quoted a price it was a set rate for the pressure washing of the home and a set rate for replacing 18 shutters. We have no small print or hidden clauses on our paperwork as you have suggested and you were told up front that we charge 45.oo per hour for additional work requested or if you wish us to pick up and deliver materials. We cannot go shopping for your materials for free. You wanted us to locate matching shutters to replace your existing shutters and then when the order came in, go pick them up and install them. The cost for the time that it took to locate the shutters, place the order and then deliver the shutters was billed to you. It was a total of 45.oo. We normally charge to haul away construction debris because once again it takes time, gas and there is a dump fee to us for doing so. We hauled your shutters away for free as a courtesy because we felt bad about the delay in getting your job completed. So the only additional cost to you that you paid was 45.oo. When you told me that you found someone else that would install the shutters for 10.oo a shutter I told you then that you could use them if you wanted to. But I doubt if they were a legitimate company. The amount of time that it would take for two men to properly install 18 shutters on a two story home would be a minimum of 5.5 - 6 hrs, a total of 11-12 man hours. At 10.oo per shutter that would only be 15.oo per hr for that job and no legitimate maintenance company can operate at 15.oo per hr in today’s economy. After thinking about it, you called me back and let us complete the job and even complimented our work to our face and in your report. Now, after giving you a free dump of your old materials, you turn around and slap us in the face because we charged you a 45.oo fee for the extra work that you requested us to do. You have accused us of not communicating with you, of having hidden fees in small print and that we over charged you for the work. None of these things were true. The Angies List is a great way to locate good quality contractors and you have the opportunity to give your opinion once the job is complete. But with that opportunity comes the responsibility of giving honest and reasonable feed back that reflects the actual experience that you had. To use this medium as a club to beat honest contractors with because they don’t give you free service or meet unreasonable demands and expectations is irresponsible and abusive. I hope that you will take a fresh look at your paperwork and the facts of your job and reconsider your comments. Vince Curcio The Bizzzy Bee

Vince provided a competitve quote over the phone and returned my call promptly. He was able to send Dwayne over the same week. Dwayne completed all the jobs professionally. He did all the jobs "right". In other words, no short cuts, and you can tell the caulk and faucets were installed by a professional handyman. He was pleasant, took his time, and was very polite. I have used several handyman services before, but my search for a "good handyman service" is over! Busy Bee is hassle free and they really care about their customers. Vince and Dwayne provided a great deal of added value direction and feedback. I know now why they have recieved so many BBB awards.

I am glad that you were pleased with the quality of our work and I am sorry that the weather at the time of your job was so sporadic that it delayed your job several times. As for the cost, if you check around, you will see that our price for laying your pavers was actually 30% lower than the larger companies in town. I've used the Bizzzy Bee several times over the last couple of years. I get consistent, excellent service and they are now the company that I call for any of the handyman projects that I have around the house. I usually save up several items and have a day or half-day's work done at one time. The guys are always on time, polite, and get right to work. This work included repairing and painting some drywall in the foyer where a mirror had fallen off the wall, re-installing a hook for the mirror and re-hanging, replacing the dining room light fixture and installing a dimmer switch, and replacing an electric outlet. The work was finished in half a day and looks great. I couldn't be more satistied. Vince (the owner) always follows up with a phone call to ensure that the work was done to my satisfaction. I would recommend the Bizzzy Bee for any of those household projects that have piled up ... they have been able to do anything that I have asked so far.

They were very responsive. We called Vince, who works in tandem with a lot of other contractors, and he had teams of people come out to the house. It was pretty much all handled in 4 to 6 days or so. We just paid Vince at the end, and the sub-contractors got paid through him. It ended up costing about $2,000. I would rate them highly.

Thank You for the positive response and report. We try to make every experience a good one. However, I do need to correct your comments concerning how we are structured as a business. We are family owned & operated, and in order to maintain a high standard of quality we do our own work. We do not subcontract our jobs. I was confused by your statement that we subcontracted "teams of people" to work on your home. Only two men came to your home from our company and they work with me full time. Perhaps you are mixing us up with another company that may have been working on your home around the same time that we were. We look forward to helping you with future projects as needed. Until then, best wishes. Vince Curcio, The Bizzzy Bee

Very quick response. 1st handyman summarized repairs needed, consulted with owner to generate cost estimate. Once I approved, started work on ceiling immediately. After applying drywall mud, came back the next day to sand and paint. 2nd handyman came 2 days later. Removed damaged grout, replaced with grout & caulk. Came back 2 days later to seal grout. Good work, very professional, prompt.

The first time you contacted us for service was July 13, 2007. We came out and replaced several bad Roof Vent Flashings. You were so pleased with our service and our price, that you contacted us again on March 14, 2008 and gave us a Punch List of Repairs that you wanted us to handle, and once again, you were very pleased with the service that we gave. Then on March 26, 2008 you needed a fast turn-around on a faucet repair because you were selling your home. So we came out the same day, evaluated the problem, and determined that this faucet had to be replaced. The problem was not our inability to perform the work, nor were we lacking in tools, or equipment, to get the job done. The problem was that we had to slowly hand cut in a 2-1/2 inch space the corroded nuts that were holding this faucet on. There was no room to work with and we did not want to damage your cabinet or vanity top. It was a physically difficult and demanding job and we did not want to force a power tool into the tiny space which would cause an expensive cabinet repair. I find it insulting and unreasonable that you never gave us credit for all of our hard work and effort the first two times that we served your needs even though you were very pleased with our work. But you have turned around and complained a full year and a half later about a one time faucet repair, when you gave no indication at that time that you were so unsatisfied with our services. I can only assume, by your comments that this comes down to a dissatisfaction concerning the actual cost of this repair. Please understand that maintenance work is not an exact science, and no two jobs, although the same in nature are exactly the same. To not mention all of the good that we did, and only mention one thing that you were dissatisfied with is unreasonable, especially when the situation that caused your dissatisfaction was outside of our control. Each time you contacted us we responded quickly and came to your home as arranged and on-time. You gave us no credit for our previous jobs well done, same day service, or for a difficult task accomplished without any damage to your property. Then, to wait a year and a half later to raise a stink about your unhappiness with one item out of so many that you were pleased with amazes me. If you were so unhappy that you just couldn’t leave it alone a year and a half later, why didn’t you discuss your frustration with me at that time. At this point I don’t know what to say to you, I find this form of reporting abusive rather than constructive because it is dishonest in nature and only has the intention of backstabbing. Once again, I must make the comment, how sad.

Awful service ... I will never call them again I called them to fix a simple light fixture installation, after 5 min. they weren't able to fix anything and to charge me $45.00 ... not only that but to tell me that they should have charged me $75.00, they are unprofessional!!
Description of Work: Bad experience! I called Bizzzy Bee to fix a very simple problem which is to install a light fixture in my bathroom, I just didn't have the appropriate tools. It took the guy 5 min. to tell me the thing I already know!! that the light fixture need to align horizontally (most light fixtures do) and that he can't fix it, i need to buy another light ... keep in mind that the light fixture was made by "portfolio" a very well known brand. I would expect from a "professional" (as Bizzzy Bee claimed) to be able to fix a simple problem. Anyway it took him 5 min. to tell me something i already know, and to pay him $45.00. I called the company and one of the owners told me that he is: "shocked that I was unhappy with the service and with $45.00 I paid for nothing, saying that he should have charged my $75.00 instead!!!

I am absolutely amazed that you would so misrepresent the facts as you have done. You called me early in the day hoping for a same day service. You said that you had a fixture that you attempted to install but could not get the fixture to mount properly and did not have the correct tools. You said that you would be home that day and that you would really appreciate it if we could come as soon as possible. I gave you our normal 2 hour minimum rate and we both agreed that it would not take two hours to install so I dropped my rate 30.00 off the top and you said that it should not take more than an hour and asked me for a better rate. I decided to offer you a flat 75.00 for a one hour service call and we both agreed on the price. Upon arrival my technician discovered that you had a mismatched fixture and mount. He spent 15 to 20 minutes trying different ways to make it work and then gave you the news that you had the wrong fixture for the mount. You got on the phone to call me to renegotiate our terms for the 4th time and insulted me by offering me 20.00 for our trouble. I told you that I was sorry that you had the wrong parts but the minimum that I could accept was 45.00 to cover our time traveling to your home and investigating the problem. We spent 35 minutes to get to you and another 20 minutes trying to help you with your mistake, but you tried to make it out like my technician walked in looked at your fixture and said it could not be done and demanded money. If you call a service company and they give you a minimum service fee it is to cover the costs associated with the call. It is not negotiable just because you made a mistake. We do not owe you a free service call just because you bought the wrong parts. We could have gone with you to get the correct fixture or returned once you purchased the correct fixture. Either way time is money and we have to charge something for our time. I dropped my price 3 times to help you and show you that we were a good company. But, because I did not allow you to insult me by stiffing me for wages due, you have now attacked my good name and character out of spite. How Sad.

It took me a minute to recall this job because it was completed a year and a half ago. I located your file and reviewed my notes and I know for a fact that when we left your home there was no gaps in your door because I myself came out to help the technician complete this job. The reason that there were gaps to begin with was that your home has settled and the wall that we had to install the door on was out of plumb and out of square. We had to put in extra time and effort in order to set this door so that it would close completely and function properly. We did not charge you for the extra time and effort, and when we left you were satisfied with the work. I realize that you were initially upset because the first attempt did not go as smoothly as we had expected, however, we resolved everything to your satisfaction before I left the job. Since that time you have not contacted my office with any concerns or complaints, and now, you are writing an unsatisfactory report based on a different door being installed on that wall. You could have contacted my office at any time and I would have addressed any legitimate complaint that you had. Did you stop and consider that the reason their door went in smoothly is because of the extra work that we did to adjust the wall? Also, did you consider that the new door was probably a slightly different size? Like a pair of shoes doors and windows has to be custom fitted, a slight difference in size can make a huge difference in the time that it takes and the end results of the job. I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the extra time that it took; however, we did not leave your home until the job was properly completed. Vince Curcio, The Bizzzy Bee

They are terrific! They have great communication, they do great work and they?re very reliable. They are very reasonably priced. I would recommend them and we already have. We have moved, but still own our house here and will call them if we need anything fixed.

The project went very well. Josh was a pleasure to have in my home. He saw and fixed small cracks that I hadn't seen. He went above and beyond and left the house very clean. I would hire these folks again in a heartbeat.

I was very pleased with them, as they did a very good job. They were very responsive. The gentleman who came out to get the work done did a thorough job. He nicely replaced the section of sheetrock in the ceiling of my son?s room and also patched it up. The ceiling has a textured pop corn style finish on it and so, he had to match that as well.
Description of Work: I used the services of The Bizzy Bee to repair a hall and a ceiling in my son’s room during last fall.
