After the house was inspected, in preparation for a sale, several items were noted that needed to be fixed. Included in these were replacing some siding panels that were rotten due to moisture, fixing some loose downspouts, and adjusting the latch on the front door so it would close properly. Because of previous excellent experience with Bizzzy Bee, I called them for this job. I specifically asked for Josh, as he is very eager, takes pride in his work and will explain in detail the issues that need to be fixed and how. The owner had Josh come over to the house 3 days after I called. After surveying the situation, Josh went to the Home Depot to get the parts (boards for the siding), came back and went right to work. Within 5 hours he had replaced about 6 pieces of siding (climbing on the roof to get at some), caulked some exposed nail heads on the roof, added straps to the downspouts to secure them better, and fixed the front door latch. Afterwards he painted the new siding and they now look as good as new. He also did a fantastic job in cleaning up and hauling away the scraps. I will definitely use them again.
Description of Work: Replaced several pieces of masonite siding with hardiplank. Fixed front door latch and repaired a couple of downspouts.

Expertise and experience really matter when it comes to my home repairs. Thank you Bizzzy Bee!!
Description of Work: I am a two time repeat customer for Bizzzy Bee only because of their professionalism and attention to detail. My repair involved water penetration into my garage from the builders poorly installed roof flashing and vinyl siding. I called Bizzzy Bee at 4 p.m. on Friday and left a message on their voicemail. I expected Bizzzy Bee to return the call that Monday because it was so close to the weekend but they surprised me by returning my call an hour later. The representative asked for the specifics and promised to have the owner call me Saturday morning to give an estimation of the repair cost. As promised, the owner called me on Saturday morning and I made the appointment for the 17th. The repair required some of the vinyl siding to be removed so that the leak could be located and eliminated. The repair person took digital pictures of the leak/ dampness of wood panels so that I could see them without being on the ladder because I am not fond of heights. The job was done RIGHT!!! and I paid a fair price for the repair.

In June I contacted the Bizzy Bee to perform wood rot repairs. Vince came & we out walked around the house. I pointed out the obvious issues that needed to be delt with. There were several areas with rot in the facsia & soffet, siding which needed to be repaired or replaced & significant rot & water damage in the siding & trim around my chimney. Vince took photos of the areas which needed repair & within a few days I received a quote along with the photos. Vince explained that it was impossible to know the extent of the damage to the chimney chase until the siding was removed. He made an initial estimate based on simply replacing the siding but he made it clear that it could be more substantial & he suspected there was damage within. Patrick arrived on July 18th and began work. On the 3rd day he began to work on the chimeny. When he opened it up he found rot under the siding down low & at the roof line & even in one of the main structural members at the base of the chimney. He immediately contacted me and discussed the options with me. I made a decision to have them completely strip the existing cedar siding from the chimney, make the necessary repairs & re-side with Hardy plank siding. Within a short period he had made the necessary measurements & had an estimate in my hands. It was not cheap! But I wanted it to be done right & to look good. The work began on July 18th & ran for a period of 2 weeks. Patrick performed most of the siding & trim repairs by himself. He had an assistant working with him on the chimney. It took 2 men about 3-1/2 to 4 days to complete the work on the chimney. The guys were only able to work 5-6 hours a day due to the brutal heat! There were also several items that I had Patrick take care of which were not in the original quote, but I felt needed to be done in order to make the project a success. As a whole I am very pleased with the work. All of the wood rot issues were addressed. The appearance of the house is back to original condition.

I was annoyed that all the companies that I contacted on Angie's List could not be bothered to contact me back. If I had wanted to be treated like this I could have opened the phone book and randomly chosen a contractor. I realize that this is not Angie's List's fault, but I expected better service from companies that were listed on here.

We recieved your Angie's list Company Connect with a request for an estimate but there was no phone number or address, so we sent an email reply and got no response. I am not sure what happened, as I am not a computer savvy individual. I only know that we never heard back from you and had no other way to contact you. The fact that you received no responses from any of the Angie's List contractors leads me to believe that there may have been a glitch with your email provider or it may have gone to your junk or spam folder. We look forward to hearing from you if you would like to contact us by phone. We are available from 7 AM to 10 PM Monday thru Saturday at 704-599-4299.

He arrived on time and was professional. He had had previous experience in doing hardwood floors. He did all 3 projects well. He did have to go to the store, which took 40 minutes of his time, so it ended up taking 2-1/2 hours. I thought the 3 simple projects could be done in less than their 2-hour minimum. But I was happy with their work and would hire them again.

I contacted the company from an Angie's List referral and they showed up when expected , came out on a Saturday for no extra charge. We walked around the property and came up with a list of projects. The estimate seemed fair and equitable. I chose the repairs I most needed done and still stayed within my budget. After a few weeks , it was my request to delay the work, they came out when expected and started the job. The workman was here several days. He was professional and left the area neat and clean. He did good work and although we found several things that made the repairs go over budget - they could not have been found during an estimate. I had to pare down my list a bit. The flashing underneath the rotten siding had to be replaced when it was found that a previous homeowner had used substandard materials and it had rusted through and rotted the siding. The gutter covers look very nice and although we found other unexpected water damage which was also an additional charge. I have no complaints with the companies work. I thought they were a bit unprofessional when collecting the checks at the end of the process but I guess I can't blame them in this economy. I enjoyed working with this company and will hire them again next spring when I have tax return money for more repairs.

I am very sorry that you had a negative experience while trying to recieve an estimate with our company. Unfortunately, during that time, we were experiencing a family tragedy while trying to maintain normal business operations. For the most part, we were able to meet everyon's needs but I am sorry to say that we did fail to meet your needs. It was not intentional and should your decide to give our company another opportunity, I will personally make sure that you are given the attention you deserve. Vince Curcio - Owner

We are pleased with the work performed by The Bizzzy Bee. They were very prompt at completing our estimate and submitting it to us via email. Vince did a follow-up call to be sure we received the email estimate, and to check on any questions we might have. Brain, who completed both the estimate and the installation, arrived on time and checked in with us before starting the work. He did a great job and was open to any questions we had. After about a week, the storm door started catching and rubbing on the frame, so we called Vince back, and he scheduled to have Brian out the next day to address the issue. Brian fixed it within an hour or so, and apologized for any inconvenience. Vince then gave us another follow-up call to see that everything was working properly. We have had the storm door in place for over a month now, and have not experienced any additional problems. The Bizzzy Bee did a good job and met all our expectations.

I did not hear from Bizzy Bee for nearly a month before Mr. Gillespie called to set up a date to do the work. That seemed a bit long, but I had not expressed any urgency and had not contacted Bizzy Bee in the interim. Brian arrived and immediately set to work to remove the affected drywall and quickly discovered extensive rotting to the the siding between the exterior brick face and the studs. We agreed that this was not covered by the estimate, and I authorized him to proceed. He requested a helper from Bizzy Bee who arrived within an hour or so to assist him. From that time on, the work proceeded quickly and professionally. Bran kept me informed of what the problems were and how he proposed to correct them and what he would do to prevent the damage from recurring. He was always on time. At the end of each day the work area was thoroughly swept, and debris was carried away. Brian worked very efficiently and diligently and completed the job as quickly as possible and with minimum disruption to my household. He and his helper (when he was there) were very courteous and pleasant. Brian really knows his business and was quite proficient and a creative problem solver. Although he was very friendly and easy going, he conducted himself professionally during the time he was in my home. Needless to say, I am very pleased with Bizzy Bee and the results of their work.
Description of Work: I had noticed signs of dampness on wainscoting under a double window in my dining room and asked Bizzy Bee for an analysis of the problem and an estimate of the the cost to fix it. Brian Gillespie came to my house within a day or two. He did a careful examination of the damage and gave me an estimate of the cost to repair the visible damage, warning me that the cost could be greater once the wall was opened and any further damage could be analyzed, I accepted the estimate and signed a contract via e-mail with Mr. Vince Curcio, the owner of the business. As it turned out there was extensive hidden damage. An area of drywall was removed and an area of rotted siding was removed from between the exterior brick wall and the studs. In the process the double window was removed and repaired including replacing one sash that had rotted. Everything was restored including replacing outside trim with vinyl lumber, caulking and painting to prevent repeat of the problem. The interior molding had been carefully removed so that it could be reused once the new piece of drywall had been installed. The interior trim was repainted to match the existing paint color. When the work was completed it looked like new.

I called on Friday and had the install done on Tuesday. I had already bought the doors but they were not routed or bored for any hardware. We set a date for them to come examine the fireplace for masonry work a week in advance. They had a window with which they could show up. They didn't show up, nor did they call. Completely unprofessional and waste of my time. I wouldn't recommend a company that can't even make an appointment without alerting the customer that they won't be there. Update: I noticed the response from Bizzy Bee and want to clarify a few things. I cannot speak to the quality of work they did for others, nor can I comment on their "golden rule" because I was not witness to any of that. They may be great with others, but weren't with me. They DID NOT call within one hour of the appointment. It was very shortly after my email letting them know of their failure to show up or call, but I just don't want to see any sort of embelishment on their part. The Bizzy Bee aldo didn't try to make it right. I was given a generic "clerical error" excuse and asked when we can reschedule. There wasn't anything about trying to make things right. I also wouldn't call the response a sincere apology in any way. I would call it an shallow attempt at an apology and a blanket statement of an excuse. With respect to being "gracious," it would've been gracious to attempt to make things right.
Description of Work: Terrible. They weren't even organized enough to get started.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
I immediately called the customer as soon as I was notified that we missed our appointment, which was within 1 hour of our appointment time. I explained that we have newly implemented a system within our office and somehow the customer file was dropped from the schedule. Like all new systems, it has its glitches and until a situation arises, we do not know if there are unforeseen problems that need to be addressed. It was an unintentional and unforeseen accident. Had the customer not emailed, we wouldn’t have known that an appointment had been missed. I am amazed at the aggressive response over an unfortunate accident. There isn’t a person or company that doesn’t have something go wrong from time to time. We regularly go out of our way to accommodate our customers’ schedules, and when they have issues come up we reschedule to meet their new needs. It’s the right thing to do. It’s called being gracious. I was sincerely apologetic that the customer was so disappointed and would have gladly come later that same day or rescheduled for another day had they been gracious and willing. People that we meet readily recognize that we really are good hearted people who genuinely care about others. We’re flexible with the needs of our customers. We’re sensitive to special needs and schedules. We operate by the golden rule. Vince C. Bizzzy Bee

Vince has done work for me before on this property, which I currently rent out. It rained shortly after he completed the work and his solution was correct. The porch remained dry and the water was rerouted. While the final cost exceeded his estimate, there were unforeseen issues with the original gutter which required more materials and labor than he anticipated. Never a question with Vince's quality of work and the quality he requires of any subcontractors he uses.
Description of Work: This is currently rental property I own. The tenant was concerned with water pouring over the entrance way gutter and flooding the porch area, making it almost impossible to use the front door during a heavy rain. Vince spoke with the tenant and myself and after hearing the issue, suggested rerouting a downspout and adding a downspout to the left of the porch to allow more water to flow through the gutter and downspout system.

I called the company because I have some fence, tree and add'l work that needs to be done. I was looking for a contractor that focuses on a few areas so I wouldn't have to deal with two many people. However, there was some miscommunication so I called another company to do the fence work for me because I have a dog and needed the fence to be fixed right away. Vince did call back on the day he was ready to come out and do the work. His work rates seemed to be reasonable compared with other companies. I had a great experience with this company in the past so don't want to say anything negative; not sure what went wrong this time. They were terrible. They put the door handle on and it was a curved door handle so that you had to push the door up. You had to push it down instead when you had to go out. My husband who had a PhD in nuclear engineering had read the instructions last night. So, I said that they were wrong. They said that some of the other people had told them the same thing. When they called the manufacturer, the manufacturer had told them that it was designed that way. They then said that they were going for lunch. I too said that I would be going for lunch and took off. I came back earlier and saw that the direction to putting on the door was gone. They took it over to Lowe's and had Lowe's read it them. They came back and one of them said that the manufacturer was wrong. The other person said that it was them who got it wrong and that they had lied. That was the end of it. They fixed it up. They took about half an hour to get it right. I told them that we did not have to get it done on that day. I told them that we were done and that they could send us the bill. They left and we never called them again. Lowe’s then came in and fixed it for $25.

These are the facts: We completed your job 12/01/2008 (2-1/2 years ago). The total job cost was $1,493.22 and consisted of exterior wood rot repairs, adjusting closet doors, replacement of three roof vent pipe collars, installation of a splash guard & down spout with adjustments to the gutters, installation of crown molding in (2) rooms, and installation of (1) storm door. When we were finished, you were very happy with everything that we had completed and even signed our paperwork saying so and paid us when we were done. According to my notes, the instructions for the door handle assembly were not clear and after calling the manufacturing company who gave us bad instructions, we then spoke with Lowes, who gave us different bad instructions. So we did what we had to in an effort to make the door handle assembly function properly in spite of poor instructions to work with and no assistance from the people who made the door. We put in extra time on our own, at no charge to you, in an effort to fix the problem. At the end of the day we had the handle assembly working so that the door was operational. You were home and you know the extent of the effort we made on your behalf. You give us zero acknowledgment or credit for all of the good that we did, nor the effort that we made, at our own expense, on your behalf. Roofing, carpentry, and gutter repairs all done well with no complaints. In fact, we gave you a speedy response time in getting your work completed prior to the holiday. We were on time each day, respected your home and did a thorough job cleaning up after ourselves. To top it off, we completed our work under our estimated cost. None of those facts were remembered or acknowledged; only a single door handle which caused us a little grief at no expense to you, and that, 2-1/2 years later. How sad.

They did an excellent job on my fence. The fence was almost $2000 because it needed a repair. They gave me the cheapest and the fastest way to come to a resolution. The first company that put up the fence put it in with the smooth side facing in because my neighbors already had fences up. That was the only way to get it up against the other fences. The first company told me that it would be the only way to install the fence. The Home Owner?s Association complained and so I had to call The Bizzzy Bee to come out and fix the problem. They were very professional. They took their time. They knew that I couldn?t spend a lot of money to put up a new fence. So, they suggested the best way to handle the situation. They worked with me and they had good ratings online as well.

Bryan from The Bizzzy Bee was initially hired to repair some rotted fascia and soffit boards but I asked him to also check all the exterior trim on the house. Lucky for us, he found several other rotted soffit and rakeboards and repaired those, as well. If Bryan is any indication of the skill and professionalism of the other employees at The Bizzzy Bee, this is the company to call for any handyman work. In the future, we will call them first when we need repair work on our home.

Overall it was a terrific experience. The job foreman arrived early to make sure the job specs were correct and the work area was clear for them to begin. Shortly after the carpenter arrived and got to work. He was very sensitive to our horses (in fact I think he enjoyed them being around!) and managed to get the job done in 1 day instead of it having to go thru Saturday as was originally expected. The door was very solid and well constructed. Our pony loves her new stall! The professionalism from everyone was top notch and the price was very competitive. They cleaned up the work area well except for some sawdust, but that was minor and easy to deal with. They were very careful not to leave nails or screws anywhere, which we very much appreciate!
Description of Work: A door was constructed in our barn to create a stall for a horse we recently added to our family. It had to be strong enough to hold a horse, but manageable enough to use daily.

From the first contact with Paula the office manager, things could not have gone smoother. I had a call back ASAP and since the rain had cancelled another job, they were able to send Josh over right away. He showed up when he said he would and was able to mount the TV with no problem and .........NO MESS!! He even had some suggestions for dealing with the wire once the cable etc is installed. I would use these folks again in a New York minute!!
Description of Work: We had a 26inch flat screen TV mounted to the wall.
