Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee

Vince and crew were great to work with. They responded quickly to my initial request for a bid and were able to start the job within a few days. When I had difficulty finding the columns that I wanted, they helped me track them down. Bryant, the guy who spent the most time on site, was knowledgeable and skilled. He was very good at assessing different approaches that could be taken to various pieces of the work and offered his opinion on associated costs and relative benefits. In addition, he identified problems with existing construction and pointed out conditions that were likely to result in problems in the future. This, of course, helps generate future work for the company, but the problems he noted were real.

They are easy to work with. The carpenter/handyman was really meticulous. He enjoyed his work and took pride in what he did.

Everything went just fine. About a week later, they were laming again. So I called back, and they came out and anchored a secondary piece of post next to the original. They stayed and they had done great but I got charged for two separate jobs. I had payed for them to try and repair my fence, then I payed for them to actually repair my fence. I'm happy with the end result but if I had realized that was going to be and issue, I probably would have said, "This is a one-time thing. It's got to be done right." The service was great. The people that I spoke to and the workmen were very courteous and quick worker. It was probably the double charge that would keep me from using them again.

Overall in a word: fantasticThe scheduling process was well organized and accurate. The work was completed ahead of schedule and under the estimate. Lenny examined the problems and wrote the estimate. He also did all of the repairs. The best I can say

This was my first experience with trying to replace a piece of trim or siding on my house. I called a few vinly siding companies and discovered this job was too small for them. I found the Bizzy Bee through Angie's List and they were quick to respond and was able to give me an estimate over the phone. They came by and picked up the piece of trim and examined how tall of a ladder would be needed, Thankfully it was only a 30ft ladder that was needed. After picking up the trim it took about 10 days to come back and install it. It took longer than I was hoping but that was because of the July 4th Holiday and Storms that caused the delayed. They called the morning of the installation that they will be there to install in a couple of hours. We were not required to be home which made for easy planning. The trim looks good and the bill was e-mailed to me at the end of July.

We found enough things for The Bizzy Bee to do it made it worth their while.

I phoned Vince on a Thursday about the problem that we had (see above). Although they were busy Vince arranged to have one of his carpenters, Josh, come the following day to make the repairs. Vince estimated that the work would take 3/4 of a day and explained the hourly rate. Josh showed up at the scheduled time and completed the task in the estimated time. He worked efficiently on a very hot day and did a very through and tidy job. All debris was removed and the area was neat and clean when he left. I had arranged with Vince that I would put the finish paint on the work in order to let the primer dry completely. I was pleased with the entire experience and had utilized Vince's services in the past and would again

The price was ridiculous. The original estimate was acceptable. They were very disorganized. We feel like we were grossly over charged. We didn't get any bills until all this stuff was finished so we had no idea how inappropriate the billing was going to be. They had different people coming every day. The roof was billed at 30 hours to trim a perimeter of shingle. Basically 2 days and it took them 5 or 6 days to do the job. We were billed for travel. One of the guys slipped on the roof so he had to leave for the day and had to work slower. We were over billed for materials. We felt like we were held hostage. The work had begun and we needed the work done. Even before we saw the bill we were already unhappy with their professionalism. They spent a lot of time standing around talking. I had a very hard time getting invoices from them. We paid $4,500 for what should have been half of that. I respectfully expressed my disappointment with the guy that was there on the last day and he went crazy. He was throwing his tools into the back of his truck. I asked him to please let the owner of the company know my concerns and to please call me. They never made an attempt to call and nothing ever came in the mail.

Called Bizzzy Bee for help with preparing a home we were putting up for sale. Vince scheduled the work to be done within two days. They did a fantastic job, were punctual and professional. I will definitely be using them again!

I chose to work with these guys because of their 'A' rating on Angie's List. I purchased the motion detectors from Home Depot. When the technician came out to do the work, he had a hard time finding the wires he needed to connect. Initially, he asked if he could cut a hole in my drywall. I said no, because I did not think it to be necessary. He proceeded to spend a long period of time trying to find the wires while I assisted; but finally informed me that he would need to cut a hole in the wall to save time. This time he explained why, and I agreed. He then found the wires very quickly, and proceeded with the installation. But then he informed me he had to go so that he could attend his 'Electrician' classes. I said this was alright, as I had to go to work anyway. They told me that they would return at night to tweak the system and correct any remaining issues with the new lights. This would not have been any issue, but the 'tweak' turned into a three hour troubleshoot. I was alright with the project until I realized that they were going to charge me by the hour for the subsequent visit that I felt did not really need to take place. The payment arrangements and lack of communication made me very uncomfortable. I also feel that my lack of knowledge in the subject, and the fact that I am a woman made me an easy target. I am also not happy with the location of the sensors they installed and there continue to be issues with the new system. They also did not patch the hole put in my wall. I will not be using them again because of the way they communicated with me. The Bizzzy Bee and myself had a communication problem that has since been resolved and they refunded my money for the price of the installation. It is still not to my satisfaction, but they did everything that they could have done.

We gave Vince and Duane short notice on a relatively long punchlist of items that needed to be done and they performed them promptly and professionally and on budget. Nothing but praise.

Came out very quickly to look at repairs, but too a few weeks to acually receive quote. I had a set week that I wanted them to start and they were able to do that. Two men showed up early to start work. Did a great job on gate and replacing board on deck. The rest of the work they did was fine. They were to be here two days, but it ended up being three. Second day they started at 7:00am. I asked if they were going to finish that day and was told yes. Around 11:00 I had to run some errands and could not locate these guys anywhere (not in there cars or anywhere on my property) so I left a note that I would be back around 1:30. I get back and they left a not to say they were leaving for the day. We were leaving to go out of town the next morning, but we had to wait until they were finished. They finished later in the morning, I paid them and that was it.

They did a good job. Everything went pretty well.

I called The Bizzy Bee on Friday and Vince was here by Saturday morning to take a look at the work to be done and provide his suggestions and estimates. I had two projects initially - my laundry closet and my garbage disposal. I had originally wanted a solution for my laundry closet (which is a bit shallow for my washer and dryer) he was very honest with me about the amount of work that could be done eaisly and that a complete overhaul of an entire wall would be needed to do everything I was asking for. His simple and honest advice saved me about $1500-$2000!!! Vince could have easily led me down the path toward the expensive option - but chose not to do so. Honesty is definately part of his estimates! The garbage disposal was locked down hard. Vince found that a screw was lodged in the disposal, he did attempt to dislodge it that Saturday, but was not able to get out. He scheduled a technician to come by on Monday morning to fix my garbage disposal. He was out on time, was polite and professional. The garbage disposal was fixed quickly and reinstalled cleanly.

Vince seems like a nice guy, but I won't be calling him again.

I asked The Bizzzy Bee to come and remove the rotten wood from a window. Since their employees are trained in many areas, I also had them look at our hot water heater which they ended up replacing the next day and they also stopped a leak in our crawl space. I was extremely pleased with their work and pricing.

Vince's office set up an appointment and called when he was on his way. He arrive on time and was extremely professional. I showed him the area in question, and he informed me that the wood rot appeared to be old and had already been dealt with by adding new support beams around the rotten beams (prior to my purchasing the home). I was amazed and obviously extremely please as Vince could have recommended additional work, but was 100% honest and truthful with me. Thank you Vince! I will definitely call Vince for all my future handyman/household projects.

He came promptly and installed the blinds wonderfully. He actually took less time and originally estimated to complete the job. Finally the installer was friendly, courteous and neat. I will definitely be contacting them again in the future when I need more work around the house.

I called Bizzy Bee based on an ad the was run in the most recent copy of the Angies Magazine. They gave me an estimate for the work we needed and I set up an appointment to have the work done because the pricing seemed fair. The work on the screened in-porch was done promptly and efficiently. The patching of the wall was begun after that and left to dry. It was a great job. The wall was torn in four places but when he left the patch was terrific. They did have to return to completely finish the next day. Once they were done the finished wall was really in better shape then I would have believed possible. I had been quoted an estimate of the cost and was pleasantly surprised with the fact that the bill was less then the estimate. The technicians were friendly, polite,skilled and very professional. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a versatile work force to complete a variety of tasks.

Vince came out to look at the shed, gave me his recommendations, emailed me a very detailed proposal, and the work was done with a week or so. I was not home but the end product was great and the squirrels have moved on. It actually had rained during the day they were scheduled to be here so I was impressed that they finished the job. A few days later, I broke a glass pane in my front door. The door and glass are original to my house which is 90 years old. I emailed Vince on a Friday afternoon to see if he could help me out, fully expecting to have to wait several days for this to be fixed. Vince emailed me back on Friday night and was able to send someone to fix it by midday on Saturday. The guy who came was very nice and professional and went right to work. He was very careful about cleaning up glass and doing minimal damage to the paint. I was thrilled to be able to have the repair done so quickly and correctly. I will absolutely be calling them again.

I don't remember the guy that came out. He did an excellent job. He came out on time. The guy was knowledgeable. The work didn't take him that long. He was a friendly guy. We will probably be calling him again.

My new 30 inch range was larger than my old 30 inch range. I was puzzled. I called Bizzzy Bee around 8 PM and Vince asured me that this happens often. He had someone at my house by 8:30 AM the next day and 4 hours later my new range was in place and looked good. The adjustment made to the kitchen cabinet is not at all noticeable, even the Formica strip on the side of the counter was reapplied and looks like it was never moved. In addition, I also had a new range hood installed and there was a space between the new range hood and the back splash behind the range. Also on either side of the cabinet there was a space where the old range hood used to be. The Bizzzy Bee representative fixed it with some molding that was stained EXACTLY to the same stain as my cabinets. It looks great. Bizzzy Bee is a great company to do business with. I used them in 2008 and will use them again when the need arises.
