We called Vince Curcio and The Bizzzy Bee in early May to setup an appt for getting our work done. Vince was great to talk to and a true professional. We had one minor bump in the road during the entire process that was very understandable, which Vince and I worked it out quickly and without any issues. So, we wanted to get our deck sealed to protect against the weather/heat, as we are in a new house (only 6 months old). We called The Bizzy Bee and spoke to Vince to get things lined up and choose materials for the composite. Vince emailed info with ideas for the raililng, we discussed our sealing ideas/requirements on the phone, and we also agreed that the Bizzy Bee would get all the materials for us. Vince informed us they were about 1.5 months out on the job and that he'd need a deposit so that they could get some materials lined up. We provided a $500 deposit (more than they asked us for) and we left it at that. Within a couple of weeks the pressure washer lady (Jill) showed up to wash the deck and then about a week later she came back to seal it. She did a great job and was very polite, professional and nice to talk to. While she was here, we inquired about getting the porch, sidewalk, and driveway pressure washed. She said she'd let Vince know. Another week later or so, the guys came out to put the new hand rails on the deck. They were very polite and professional, even fixing a couple of things they noticed on our deck! I spoke to Vince after they left to compliment him on a job well done. We then spoke about add-on work cleaning the porch, etc. Setup a day and time to have it done - about 2 weeks out - and he said he'd take payment when it was all done. A few days later (while out of town) he texted my phone to ask if they could come out that day and do it, we agreed and it was done by the time we were back in town a few days later. Shortly after that, we received the invoice for the completed work and gladly paid it. Vince kept us up-to-date throughout the entire process from our first communication to last by using text, email, and phone. We were extremely pleased with the communcation we received from Vince and crew.

We have used Bizzy Bee on three different occasions. Vince has been prompt in returning calls, getting someone out to house and completed repairs in a timely and professional manner. His crew is very knowledgable and professional. We had them come out to make several repairs before our house went on the market and had them came back to make repairs after the inspection. We just moved into our new home and plan to call them soon!

Vince was awesome, he bailed me out when a prior contractor left me high and dry. He reached out almost immediately and had one of his workers out within make the necessary repairs. Coming in under the price of the prior contractor I would add. I would highly recommend Vince and Bizzy Bee for any small or large projects you made need done!

Vince was immediately responsive to an inquiry I sent him through Angie's List on a Sunday, which was completely unexpected. We needed to have a few pieces of siding replaced on our home which was a small job that quite a few other handymen didn't even bother to respond to or responded to very late. Vince immediately got us on the schedule (after the rain days) and completed the work quickly, did a great job and charged a decent price (maybe a little tiny bit high). I would certainly give Vince a call again. Thanks for the great work Vince! We appreciated the great service!

Amazing service, quality, professionalism! The work was top notch and so well done. He took his time, but stayed focused to make sure that everything was done well and correctly. He was friendly, kind, and very easy to work with. The price was more than reasonable for the quality of work performed. Bizzzy Bee will be my go-to for future handyman services around my house. I couldn't have been more pleased, and my husband was blown a way by the quality of work he did in such a short time.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
When I read this customer’s review I was confused about her assessment of the situation and costs she has reported here. I pulled up her paperwork to refresh my memory and can say with absolute certainty that the customer has misrepresented the facts about the scope of work performed AND the costs. Our rate is NOT $100/hr. That is absurd. We offer full service maintenance repairs at a very reasonable rate. For Example, this customer did not spend $600 for 6 hours of labor as she has claimed. Her labor for 6.5 hours was $292.50. Her total bill was only $306.97, which included the materials. The list of work performed is as follows: • Modified (3) drawer cavities that had been deeply gouged from continually using and yanking on drawers that had dysfunctional drawer glide hardware. • Replaced the hardware on (3) drawers • Installed beauty trim to cover the gap between the base cabinets and countertop • In the crawlspace, reattached the disconnected dryer ducting and fortified with HVAC tape • On the pull-down attic stairs, reinforced each of the 9-10 step treads with (2) nails on each side (36-40 total) • Installed (1) strike plate • Custom modified (1) strike plate to fit the application and installed • Created and installed a custom insulation solution to fit the customer’s attic stairs • Additionally, a store trip to get the materials for these repairs was included within that time This customer has not only over-stated the amount they paid, but also over-simplified the complexity while under-stating the list of tasks performed. I am saddened by the fact that this customer never reached out to me with any complaint of any kind and yet has openly attacked my company with false accusations. I will be more than happy to disclose the actual invoice to prove that these accusations are false. For the record, It is not at all slow to take 6.5 hours for the number of tasks accomplished, which included a store trip. I can understand that each person has their own “yardstick” by which they measure things such as expense and speed. All I can say is that this customer needs to have their yardstick recalibrated because her job was neither expensive nor performed slowly. For those considering using our services, you will see that the over 500 straight-A reports and over 100 Pages-Of-Happiness nominations provide the true picture of our company. We stand ready to service our customers, as efficiently as possible without compromising on good quality or proper safety procedures.

Vince contacted me promptly and arranged a personal assessment of damage and needed repairs. I had an itemized estimate which specified the work needing to be done with estimated material cost and hourly labor estimate for this within 2 days. Initially, the stated date to begin the project was 3 1/2 weeks away, but was able to be started earlier because of a change of schedule. Lenny, the employee who was assigned to our project, was highly competent, having worked in high end residential areas of Connecticut. He was utterly professional in all his interactions with myself and my wife. He arrived promptly at the promised time every day and would always tell us of the scheduled steps of the project and when he would return. Since the previous tile was no longer available, I picked out a suitable alternative. Lenny kept the work site contained and as clean as could be expected. We are very satisfied with the the job and all the people we dealt with at The Bizzzy Bee. I would recommend them highly and would use them again without reservation.

Vinnie is very responsive and keeps the communication lines open. The team arrived on time and did the following tasks: replaced the sweeps and weather stripping around back, front, and garage doors; replaced an electrical switch; sanded a wall section, replaced a speaker cover, fixed a hose faucet, and trimmed down two doors that were sticking. We had some cleaning up to do after the work was completed. After the fact, we called Vinnie a few weeks later to discuss a couple of issues we needed readdressed regarding the weather stripping on a couple of the doors. Vinnie addressed the issue promptly by sending out another member the next day to address the issues which came out great! Thanks for a great experience and for standing behind your work!

It was wonderful. Very helpful, on time and within budget. I'm totally satisfied and thrilled to have found such a great handyman service.
Description of Work: They provided a variety of services from hanging planters and curtain rods, to stringing lights on my pergola. I had a bigger issue with my garage lighting fixtures and they asked if I wanted their electrician to come out. He came out later that day and fixed everything quickly and also explained things to me to help in the future. Both folks were on time, courteous and incredibly helpful not just for what I asked for but with items to help me in the future. Best handyman service I've used. Definitely would use again and recommend to friends.

It went great, as far as the repairman, time and date went. Richard showed up on time, was very professional and we discussed the list of items I wanted fixed and he went right to work. Unforturnately some of the replacement parts I bought did not fit so we had to make a few trips to Lowes. He was able to fix what he could, was always professional and pointed out what needed to be replaced and what could be fixed without replacement. Before he left he confirmed that we were pleased with his work and was more than willing to fix anything that was not to our liking. Will definately use them again and can definately recommend them.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
We are a small, family-owned and operated service provider. Unfortunately there are good and bad aspects to remaining small. On the negative side, because we are very popular, due to our high quality of service, there are times throughout the year when we get inundated with calls. During those times we get so many calls that it is not physically possible to return a call to every single person that has contacted us. Our heart’s desire is to respond to everyone, but the physical reality prevents us from doing so. Events such as tax refunds, spring break, and holidays such as Easter/Passover are times when we experience an overwhelming number of calls. When peak times occur, we serve as many customers as we can on a first come, first serve basis. On a positive note, those who choose our service receive personalized, quality service in the most efficient manner that we can provide. We treat each customer by the golden rule. Just because someone does not receive a call, does not mean that they are any less important than any other customer. Every customer is important to us and their needs matter. Regrettably, in the past three weeks we’ve had more calls come in than our small family operation can respond to. We apologize to anyone who has experienced a lack of response during those moments. We look forward to serving anyone and everyone we can as often as we can. Vince C. Bizzzy Bee

We have been homeowners for over 21 years and have never written a negative review about any service- until now. While the painter was polite and friendly, he was late almost every day...spent over 4 hours the first day at the paint store for color matching- at our expense...painted right over patching material without sanding first...wall areas to be touched up were not tested beforehand for color matching, which left obvious flashing in multiple areas and therefore full walls then required painting. The project seemed to just keep growing! Our "finished" playroom ceiling had so much flashing that the entire ceiling had to be painted. But, that job wasn't done properly either as roller marks were visible throughout the ceiling. After sending photos to the owner, he agreed the ceiling wasn't truly finished, but would require a second painting. He intended to then charge us an additional $800. Another "finished" wall in our hallway was painted on the right side, clearly stopping at the arch with the left side of the same wall being left unpainted. The owner, Vince was notified of our concerns, but refused to come out a second time to examine the work more fully. He would not take accountability for his painter, but instead blamed us for wanting touch up painting versus full wall painting. Not the case! The overall poor technique made us decide to hire a painting company to remedy the numerous areas botched by Bizzy Bee. An additional huge expense and much bigger project resulted versus the simple touch up work truly needed! A cover plate was installed to cover cable wires, but only 2 of the 4 screws were ever inserted. The "troubleshooting" of the gas grill involved an electrician changing a 9 volt battery. Vince claims the grill was left in working condition afterwards, but the same issue remained. He then sent out a different electrician who informed us that the grill "probably just needs a good cleaning". I am now paying a different company to clean and fully assess the grill for the issue that Bizzy Bee was initially contacted about. Other than the patio gate, nothing was fully done to our satisfaction. Vince would not take any accountability and refused to return to inspect the work as I mentioned above. We are flabbergasted to receive a bill for $1,787 when hardly any of the items mentioned were completed properly. I fully expect him to reply to this post stating how Bizzy Bee has over 600 A ratings, but I have found numerous D/ F's in the reviews. I notice that Vince has responded to these negative reviews by bashing the homeowner as being "unreasonable". I imagine he will reply in the same manner to our post. However, we are not being unreasonable. We simply expected quality work from a company that claims to be a professional handyman service. We would not recommend Bizzy Bee...and our word of mouth to family, friends and neighbors will be the most effective review!

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
I am not surprised by this negative review. Contrary to their statements in this review, I did meet with this home owner to look at the issues that they had. At that time I reminded them that we discussed the options prior to doing the work and that they were warned that matching paint was a gamble. We have no control over the closeness of the paint matching results. We do not make paint. They understood that if the walls that were repaired did not get fully painted, but only spot-painted, that they run the risk that flashing of the paint might cause visual patches on the wall. Again, Contrary to the customer’s statements, we did not waste the customer’s time on paint matching. We went through 20 different cans of paint that the customer had us go through in an attempt to find the exact paints used in their home. None of the cans were properly marked, so it was a guessing game as to which colors were the correct colors. We discovered that only one can was a suitable match and the rest of the colors in the home had to be matched at the paint store. This customer has a large 3 story home and the time of lugging the various cans of paint up to each work area and then returning the ones that did not work was time consuming. Then there was the time of traveling to the paint store and waiting our turn so that we can travel back with their best color match. Then we tested the colors to see how close they were and the customer gave us thumbs up to try the spot painting. Until the paint actually dries, we do not know what the actual end results will be. The next trip out to the customer’s home, the customer requested minor touch ups and was happy with the final results of those rooms and we went on to the hallways and the large play room ceiling. After repeating the process we were told that flashing had occurred on the play room ceiling so we gave that ceiling a full coat of paint which covered about 80% of the flashing but it would need another coat of paint. That is when the customer asked me to walk the job and discuss the issues. The hallway looked fine in normal light but when a bright flashlight was used to scan the wall, it was obvious that the walls would need to be fully painted in order to cover the new paint that had flashed. The customer was upset that the hall walls would have to be fully painted and that the ceiling in the large play room needed a final coat of paint. They made it clear that they did not want to pay any more money for the work that was being performed and that is when I reminded them of their choice to spot paint the areas in question rather than fully paint those walls. They simply did not want to pay for the rest of the work to be finished. They said that they would discuss the issues between them and get back with me. They did no such thing. They simply called another painter to come and do the very thing that I had told them that needed to be done, which was put a final coat of paint on the ceiling and paint the hallway walls. Naturally the other company bashed us to make themselves look good and claimed that the issue was our technique of painting, when in fact the only problem was the flashing of the new paint on the old paint which was caused by a slight color variation. Now the customer does not want to pay the bill that they have created with my company and is demonizing me and my men to appease their conscience and justify their actions. As for the grill, I was told that they had a gas connection problem and so I sent my plumber to check the connections. He quickly discovered that a 9 volt battery needed to be replaced and after putting in a new battery, he lit the grill. Because the grill did not light as quickly as it should and acted sporadic, he determined that the grill may need to be cleaned and the igniters may need to be replaced. I asked the customer if they wanted us to have my electrician change the infighters and they agreed. After my electrician came out and confirmed that the plumber was correct, the home owner decided that they would have another company do that work. So I sent my electrician to another job and did not include his time in my billing. I did not mention that to this customer, so they are assuming that they are being charged for something that they are not being charged for. At the end of the day, the customer has embellished the facts in an effort to demonize us and justify their actions; this is very typical of what people do when they want to justify their dishonest actions. We stand behind our work and when 95% of the customers we serve say that we are great and only a small portion of the customers say that we have failed them, the numbers speak for themselves. I wish this customer no ill will, but hope that they can get real with themselves for their own sakes and become responsible for the choices that they make, not expecting others to pay for the choices that they make. They made a choice to go the cheap route of spot-painting with full disclosure of the risks. The result was not what they had hoped and now they want to hold us responsible for that choice. If you are looking for a great company with a time tested record of excellence, give us a call. We look forward to serving anyone we can, Vince C. The Bizzzy Bee

The Bizzy Bee called me right away to schedule the appointment and they had to change our appointment at the last minute, which was totally fine with me. The service was very professional, however I recommend that you watch the clock and don't engage in small talk because you will get billed for each minute they're in your home. I purchased two hours of time in advance and we ran over by 30 minutes and was charged about another $50 for service. They do good work, but again I would watch the time and just let them do their work and check in with them along the way so that you can anticipate the cost up front instead of being blind sided by any additional cost because they don't tell you along the way.
Description of Work: Bizzy Bee replaced a kitchen faucet and hung three curtain rods.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
I understand this customer’s concern but they have stated a very simple fact that is true of all service providers. If a customer spends time talking with the service technician while they are working it can be a distraction and slow down their progress. We will not be rude to a customer, but we will keep moving as fast as we can. If we see that the customer is interfering with our work we will as tactfully as possible, ask them to find something else to do so we can keep making progress. In this case, the customer needed a faucet and three sets of drapery rods installed; a single rod, a double rod and a triple rod. They purchased a 2 hour special but that was not enough time to fully accomplish the task. Additionally, installing drapery rods require some communication and input from the customer. It is like getting a haircut. The height that one customer may like, may be different than the height of another customer. Also, the height from window to window and room to room may have different requirements. We are glad that the customer was happy with everything that we accomplished and I do understand their frustration with the additional time required, but we went as fast as good quality service would allow. We look forward to serving this customer in the future and will make every effort to help them understand the time requirements for the new projects that they want us to handle. Best wishes, Vince C. at The Bizzzy Bee

I purchased the 4 hour deal for $180. They called me quickly to go over what I needed. They determined it was best to send an electrician. He was on time and worked non stop. I went over the 4 hours because I had a lot of stuff and we needed to go home depot for a different wall mount. The whole process was very easy and I will definitely call them again.
Description of Work: Installed a ceiling fan, a ceiling light fixture, under cabinet lighting, wall mounted 60" TV, and changed some light bulbs.
