I read through MANY contractors' profiles and settled on Bizzzy Bee and Vince Curio based on his rating. I requested through Angies List an estimate to replace an Exterior Door with water damage to the sill. I explained that I already had purchased the pre-hung door and lockset and was immediately willing to hire. After a couple of attempts to get a price, I was sent a price list via email a few days later. I then called to request an estimate prior to hiring-- but the owner, Vince, told me they don't do that and that he had to come see the work and would give me an estimate before starting the job. I pressed him to know what the estimate would be. He said, "About $350. Plus materials." We agreed to schedule him to come out and provided it matched his estimate he could start the same day. I then had to reschedule due to a medical emergency. A week later I attempted to get back on his schedule. After some time and several attempts I got back on his schedule (2-weeks later). The guy that showed up was NOT Vince. The guy seemed very knowledgeable and I would have been happy to have had him complete the work as he spoke with confidence and showed a clear understanding of the scope of the job. HOWEVER... HOWEVER. The job was "not as described," he said. And then took a bunch of photos and got Vince on the phone. Then without letting me talk to Vince he said this was a MUCH BIGGER JOB. And would take two guys. To which I explained that Vince had already stated to me that it would take two guys. And that "HE" was coming to my house. Which did not happen. So after a polite conversation the guy said he was sending Vince the photos but would have to reschedule. And so I called to Vince and left a message. My call was returned several hours later. And at that point was told by Vince that this was a MAJOR REPAIR and would require the better part of two full work days by two workers. I explained that I was surprised he was not the contractor to come to my house. And that two guys had not shown up in the first place as he had stated. And that he estimated it to take 2-FULL-DAYS by TWO GUYS. I kept repeating it because I couldn't believe it. I said, "You mean it will take 24-32 man hours???" Vince said, "YES." I asked him to please send me the estimate. And sure enough, the estimate was for 24-32 man hours. Totaling up to $265 for materials, and $1575 labor. Plus a $85 dump fee. A GRAND TOTAL OF $1,925. And if i wanted it painted it would be extra. I hired another contractor today. He showed up with a helper. They started at NOON and were finished by 4:30pm. It cost me $40 in materials including (3) 2x8 treated beams, some caulk, a can of spray foam insulation, and some trim. They supported the area with 2 x 4s. Then tore out the water damaged wood. Removed the existing door and installed the new one. Then they installed the lock and knob. Swept up. Total Man Hours, 2 guys x 4.5 hours= 9 man hours. PAID: $400. That's pretty darn close to Vince's original estimate! I cannot believe Vince was going to charge me $2000 for this job. **** He claimed I did not send him photos or explain the job very well. But the email was returned to me from the Angies List system and I even followed up with another email telling him it was returned to me when I scheduled him to come over -- even still, the scope of work was completely discussed and explained via a telephone call as I had no intention of having any contractor showing up to a surprise, and then smacking me with a bill higher than expected. **** And obviously it could be done in the originally estimated time and budget since the contractor today did it in 4.5 hours for $400 !

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
Here are the facts which can be verified through Angie’s List Email Threads. This customer contacted our company on 10-16-2015. I responded the very next day on 10-17-2015. We spoke and scheduled the work of replacing one exterior door with the possibility of some rot under the threshold. I gave this customer a blind estimate for a standard door repair and any rot repair would be handled on an as needed addendum basis. This customer contacted us again on 10-20-2015 to cancel due to an unexpected medical procedure and once again, I responded the very next day on 10-21-2015. On the 10-26-2015 this customer contacted us again through Angie’s List and wanted to get back on the schedule again. I was able to respond on the 28th and let them know that I would put them back on the schedule ASAP. On 11-15-2015 this customer contacted us again wondering when we could come out to do the installation. We were in the middle of three weeks of on and off rain and I told him that when the weather allowed, we would set the date and get it done. All of this is recorded on the Angie’s List Email system and can be verified through Angie’s List. This customer was never ignored. It was because of bad weather and their own personal medical issues that we could not get to them any sooner. As for the actual work that they requested, the following is the description of the work directly from this customer. I have purchased an exterior rear entry door from Lowes 32" x80" and need installed. Dry rot repair under threshold. I also have 3 ceiling lights to replace. And potentially need some drywall repair, painting and flooring installation. BUT, immediate need is for the door installation-- ready to hire immediately for all projects as we have the house on the market. If you want to call or complete project on weekend that would be great. After speaking with this customer, they were given a Blind Estimate for the door installation only. They wanted to wait on everything else. We cannot travel out to a customer’s home to conduct an estimate on a simple door replacement which is typically a half day of work. The possible rot under the threshold is not fully known until the door is removed. So that was to be an as needed repair. I am the owner of the company and for small jobs like this, I send out the appropriate technician for the job. In this case it was a family member who upon arrival was also shown framing rot to the band sill, joists and sub floor under the house; a totally different scope of work. The reason I asked my technician to send me pictures is because I had not seen pictures of this damage and did not know that there was this much damage until I was told by my technician. This customer claims to have sent me pictures of this damage and that simply is not true. I would have done an on-site estimate for such a serious repair. They are mixing me up with one of the other contractors that they spoke with or they are simply blowing off steam because we could not do that type of repair on the spot with one man. As for having another technician supposedly doing a serious repair of that nature in 4.5 hours is ludicrous and I do not believe it. Please understand that there is a tiled floor that runs up to the edge of the rear entry door. The Proper and Safe Procedure for replacing floor joists and band sills under a house requires the following steps. You be the judge and tell me what you think. Supposedly, the other contractor did the following in 4.5 hours: - evaluated the job, - left the job to get the proper House Jacks and Girder material to support this customer’s heavy floor system (there are many different situations and each require their own size and type of supports) - came back to the house, supported the floor system with a safe drop girder support system; - removed all of the bad framing material (floor joists and band sill); - made their material list based on the actual damage found upon removal (hidden damage is common in a situation like this so the tear out comes before the shopping of materials) - left the job to get the new materials that they needed; - shopped, loaded and transported the materials back to the home; - custom fit all of the new framing material (under the house mind you); - removed the drop girder; - removed the old door system; - installed a new door system with hardware; - put away all of their tools and hauled away the debris All of this was supposedly done with only $40 in materials, in 4.5 hours, without cracking any tiles or tile grout (no tile or grout repairs were mentioned); I Do Not Believe It !!! I do believe that it is possible to cover up rot in that amount of time, which is both unethical and unsafe when you’re selling a home to an unsuspecting buyer. If they did the job using Safe and Proper Procedures for working under a house, this is a Minimum job of a day or a day and a half for two men. This customer was angry with us because of two things. We could not do the job the day that we were scheduled because it would have been unsafe for one man and it was going to cost them more than just the simple door installation estimate than I blind quoted based on his Email description. His Email did not have pictures and there was no mention of band sill or floor joist damage. Please keep in mind that we did not charge them any money. We did a Free Evaluation upon the discovery of a much bigger repair need. I gave them a Free Estimate and never even got a reply that they received the estimate and then they blast us for being honest with them about their repair needs. By The Way, if you have a tile floor system and someone tells you that they can just throw a couple of 2x4’s under the heavy floor system of your home to support the weight of your floor; and that you will not have any damage while they bang around down there, Don’t Believe Them!!! One mistake with the weight of a floor system full of tile is that there will be crack damage all over the place, quick, fast and in a hurry. Not to mention how dangerous the actual process was that this customer described in this report. Those men if they did do the job in the fashion described, risked bodily injury or possible death if the heavy floor system above them collapsed. It’s just plain ridiculous and dishonest reporting. If you want the job that you need done, accomplished by a company that will follow proper safety and quality procedures, give us a call. We will be honest with you and will not take dangerous risks that can cause more damage to your home or leave you with an injured mechanic on your property. Vince Curcio, The Bizzzy Bee.

We got the estimate from Vince Curio for resurfacing our existing chimney cover instead of a costly replacement. We had used The Bizzzy Bee for other general carpentry so were confident in their ability and commitment to our satisfaction. Brian arrived within the window given by Vince and was a personable and willing as we could ask for. He answered all my questions before providing the statement of work that we agreed upon. The work was completed and looks great from the ground and the pictures showed that the top looks excellent as well. We are expecting fairly heavy rain tonight and it will be a relief to know that our chimney is sealed up tight. The work has a warranty of 5 years which is the same as the costly replacement and we are not out of pocket money that can be better used elsewhere.
Description of Work: Resurfaced the chimney cover. Secured a loose piece of siding.

Vince Curcio, owner of The Bizzzy Bee, is one of the most unethical, dishonest people that I've ever had the misfortune to do business with. I filed a complaint against him with the Better Business Bureau; he didn't respond to the complaint. I also reported him to the State Licensing Board for General Contractors. I hired The Bizzzy Bee (owner: Vince Curcio) in August 2015 to replace some rotten siding on my home, to so some repairs to the bandsill under a bay window, and to replace several pieces of rotten trim around windows, and to replace a piece of rotten trim along the bottom of my chimney. The rotten pieces of trim were to be replaced with pvc material, not wood. Vince Curcio told me that payment for the material would be due when the material was purchased but that the labor would not be billed until the job was finished to my satisfaction. On Wednesday, 8/12/15, two workers (TR and Matt) arrived to begin work. It quickly became apparent that Matt was completely unskilled in this kind of work. TR was showing him how to use tools and how to do basic tasks. On 8/13/15, TR and Matt picked up 20 pieces of LP SmartSide at MBS (Matthews Building Supply) siding to replace some Masonite siding on my house. (I paid $750 that day for the materials.) Matt spent the entire day painting the first coat of paint on the 20 pieces of siding while TR did the band sill repair, did the trim repair around my bay window and a replaced a piece of trim on my kitchen window. They returned on Friday, 8/14/15, and worked only half a day on the siding repair before telling me that they were leaving early and that they wouldn't be back until Wednesday, 8/19 to finish the work because Vince Curcio was sending them to another job.. They left all of the materials scattered around my yard. when they left. On Monday 8/17 I received a "progress invoice" for $2315.95 from Vince Curcio for all the work done up to that point. The email said to make check payable to VINCE CURCIO, not The Bizzzy Bee. A red flag immediately went up; I wasn't supposed to get billed for the labor until the job was completed. Against my better judgment, I paid the $2315.95. HUGE MISTAKE ON MY PART! Once Vince Curcio had that money, he had no interest in coming back to finish the job and I was left high and dry with the job partially finished. I spent weeks trying to chase Vince Curcio down and get a commitment on when his guys would be back to finish the work at my house. When I did manage to get a return phone call, Vince Curcio just made one excuse after another of why his guys hadn't been back to finish the work at my house. Three of four times he told me they'd be there on a certain day and then they wouldn't show up. It wasn't until 10/15 (2 months after they'd left!) that they finally returned to finish the work at my house. This time there were 3 guys (TR, Matt, and Tom). TR was supposed to be the "lead" carpenter. He and Tom argued a lot, and not in a friendly manner. It made me very uncomfortable. TR was hostile and belligerent when he spoke to me. On 10/15, all they had to do was finish installing the siding (that had been left on my patio for 2 months) and paint the second coat on paint on it, replace 1 piece of trim on 2 different windows, and replace the trim along the bottom of my chimney. The workers weren't focused on working; they were focused on fighting with each other. I went into my backyard on 10/15 to see Tom and Matt urinating on my patio, 10 feet from my back door. The windows on the back of my house were open as were the blinds so they were in full view of those in the house, including one of my children. These guys gave new meaning to disgusting. TR knocked on the door and said they were finished and told me to come look at it. I walked around the house and pointed at the trim paint that was running and dripping down onto the siding that I'd recently painted. He got nasty with me and said, "hey, it's not my fault it's not 90 degrees out!" Then he became very belligerent and said he was packing up his tools and leaving. I did my best to ignore his behavior. I pointed out that the 2 pieces of window trim that they'd replaced hadn't been painted and he hollered at Tom to get over there and paint it. Tom responded back angrily that he couldn't paint it because the caulk was still wet and TR hollered back at him to paint it anyway! I pointed out that the trim along the bottom of my chimney hadn't been replaced and he couldn't even remember what they were supposed to do with it. When I reminded him that the rotten wood was supposed to be replaced with pvc trim, he said FINE in a nasty tone of voice and then told me to go back in the house. Before I'd gone more than a few feet, he hollered at Tom to pack up their tools, that they were leaving NOW! (Matt had been out in their truck for several hours by then.) TR started slinging tools around. I went inside the house and locked the door. I immediately called Vince Curcio and told him that his guys had acted very inappropriately at my house and that none of what they had done had been done correctly. Vince Curcio came to my home on Tuesday, 10/20. I expected him to be apologetic for how his guys had acted and for how they had screwed up the work at my house. Boy, was I wrong. As I pointed out the things that had been done wrong (which was everything), he became very hostile and said he wasn't fixing anything for free and if I wanted them to fix what was done wrong then I'd have to pay for it. Vince Curcio expected to get paid for doing it wrong, and then get paid again for fixing what they'd done wrong! I told him I wasn't paying him to fix what his guys screwed up. He stormed away from my house, making a scene in front of several of my neighbors, hollering at me that he was sending me a bill and if I didn't pay it he would put a lien on my house. He sent me a bill for $1668 for 10/15-10/16 (this is in addition to the $3065.95 that I'd already paid him.) The siding that they had installed was installed wrong. The mfg installation instructions call for minimum 8d galvanized nails with a .27" head and 0.113 shank. The nails are supposed to penetrate a minimum of 1 1/5" into the framing of the house. The nail head is supposed to fit snugly against the face of the siding. Butt joints were supposed to always be at studs. Vince Curcio's workers used what looked like finishing nails that are used in conjunction with wood glue when making wood furniture. The nails had NO HEADS and were sunk deep into the siding. In many areas there were 3-4 nails in a 2" area. The butt joints were not on studs and half a dozen of them are already pulling away from the house. Because they used the wrong nails, the siding will pull away from the house as it swells and contracts. I called the supplier and described the installation; they said that the protective outer shell of the siding had been compromised and that the siding needed to be removed and new siding installed. Because the siding was installed wrong, the mfg warranty was voided. When I emailed Vince and explained how the siding had been installed wrong, his response was a verbal attack. He told me that I was wrong about what kind of siding that they had installed on my house. He insisted that they had installed hardie board siding and that they had followed the mfg's installation instructions. He was just lying. He had the invoice for the siding just like I did. Vince Curcio just tried to lie his way out of it by trying to convince me that I didn't know what kind of siding was on my house. Vince Curcio refused to take responsibility for the incorrect installation of the siding just like he refused to take responsibility for the other mistakes his guys made. The siding mfg is going to send a representative to my house to inspect the siding and document what was done to the siding. On the back (second story) of my house, the only repair that they were authorized to do was to replace one vertical piece of window trim on one window. One of the workers took a paintbrush and randomly painted fresh paint in 6-8" spots all over the wall so that now the entire wall has to be painted. This was obviously deliberate on their part to make me have to repaint the entire wall. The did the exact same thing on another wall of my house. This was nothing more than them deliberating damaging my house. Vince Curcio said that it is MY FAULT that there are spots all over those two walls. He said that if the paint had been a perfect match, then it wouldn't have mattered where his guys had painted! Without my knowledge, one of the workers got an old piece of scrap wood from a 25 year old deck that I had demo'd and tried to pass it off as the pvc repair that was supposed to have been done at the bottom of my chimney. It obviously was a piece of old wood, but the worker insisted that he'd done the repair with pvc. When I pointed the lie out to Vince Curcio, he said that what his worker had done was acceptable and that he had no problem with it! For the past month, I've tried to correspond with Vince Curcio via email in a civil, professional manner so that we can get this worked out. The bottom line is that his guys not only didn't do the work right (so now I have to hire another company to do the work correctly) but they also caused damage to my house. So it's going to cost me more to get the repairs done because I also have to fix what they damaged. All he's done in return is threaten and bully me. Apparently he sees a single mother as an easy target to take advantage of. I intend to post his emails with this review so that others can see just how nasty he was to me. I will also be posting pictures of the damage they did to my home.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
WOW, what a gross exaggeration of the facts. I will be glad to send in all of my Emails as I was never rude to this customer. I was straightforward and honest, not rude. This customer became so difficult to deal with that my men refused to continue any further work for them. So I shut down the job at a good stopping point and let them know we could not continue the Work. The customer said that they had issues and after we completed a walk through together I sent them an Email in which I detailed a response to each complaint. After going over each complaint I offered to fix anything that was a mistake and to finish the top coat painting at no additional labor cost even though it had nothing to do with a mistake on our end. After everything was said and done, there was caulk issues, nail issues and paint issues. None of which is normally an issue for my men. But they were so agitated by this customer that they rushed to get off their property to avoid any further conflicts. A final top coat of paint was needed because the paint that the customer supplied was not a perfect match. The men had only spot painted the caulk seams and various marks on the wall in the work area. They did repair painting; only if the paint does not match well do they paint the entire wall. My offer was to fill in any missed caulking and paint the two repaired walls that were in question at no charge for the labor; they only needed supply the materials. The other issue that came up was the nails used to install the siding. We normally replace Masonite with Hardie Board siding but the size of Masonite siding that the customer had was not available in the Hardie. I was not aware that my men had to use a Masonite product so I had thought that they did what we normally do and used the Hardie product with the required nails for the Hardie materials. I found out that I was incorrect with my understanding of siding used and I found out that my men did not switch to the nails that are required for the Masonite Siding. I admitted to the customer my mistake and offered to make the correction for FREE as it was our mistake. I went on the manufacturer’s website and got their recommended correction for when that happens. They did not say to remove and replace the siding, but to caulk the nail holes and re-nail with the proper nails. Exactly what I was willing to do and stated so to this customer in writing. I also sent this customer a copy of the nail chart from the manufacturer with the recommended corrections. That was not good enough! Now this customer is trying to claim that we damaged there home which is false and that they should get a full refund of all materials and labor when the only thing that is needed, is minor caulking of nail holes, re-nailing of the siding, and a coat of paint. I had already offered to correct these problems for FREE, no additional labor cost. Based on my 30 years of experience in dealing with customers, it is my opinion that this customer is attempting to create an exaggerated claim to avoid paying their outstanding invoice, which is now past due. We do not claim to be perfect and yes, mistakes can and do happen. However, when a customer refuses to allow reasonable corrective measures to be implemented and attacks the men when they are willing to make corrections is not reasonable. We stand behind our work and our willingness to make reasonable corrections is proof that we are quality minded and good company. If anyone would like to discuss the REAL facts, please call me at 704-777-9688. We look forward to helping anyone that we can, Vince C. at The Bizzzy Bee.

I am a single women new to Charlotte so I was very skeptical about calling someone in to do this work for me. When they called to set up the appointment I was still nervous because the person on the phone explained to me that until they came to my home to see exactly what needed to be done and seeing what kind of supplies they would need he couldn't say for sure if they would be able to complete the job within the allotted time. I made the appointment even though I was still very nervous. On the morning of the appointment the Handyman called me to let me know he was on his way and what time to expect him. His name was Gary. He was very nice and professional. From the time Gary came into my home I felt comfortable. He explained everything to me before he did the work wanting my OK. He kept me informed after he finished each job letting me know how much time I had left knowing it was important to me not to go over my time allotted. Gary was very efficient. He was able to finish all three jobs I needed done within the allotted time. I would use this company again and would recommend them. As a matter of fact I have already referred them to my daughter. Thank you. Amanda

On the day of the appointment 09/02/2015 (WEDNESDAY), they did not contact me until 2 hours after the appointment time range. I had called every 30 mins and left 4 vms on 2 different numbers. I was told the person coming to put in the doors was involved in a car accident and Vince would personally call me back once they figure out their work schedule. He stated that it would be at least a week before he would call back about rescheduling. It has now been almost 7 weeks and I have yet to hear a thing back. I understand there was an incident but 7 weeks? Very displeased that I gave up a day of work and have had to jump through further hoops to find another contractor to do the work, giving up yet another day of work. It is not my job to call them to reschedule my appointment when I was not the one missing the appointment. No matter how large or small the job, I should have been contacted by this point.
Description of Work: We setup an appointment for early September to have an exterior front door and Storm door installed.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
After we recovered from the initial disruption from the accident I tried to reschedule with this customer. I am not sure what the disconnect was, but I called three times to re-schedule and did not get a reply so I assumed that this customer moved on to another contractor. I am glad that he found someone else and was able to get his needs met and I wish him well. Vince C. at The Bizzzy Bee.

It went fine. They did an excellent job and all I could say is they could have hauled the trash out which they didn't do, but other than that I had no problem with it.

Vince was so wonderful to work with. He was knowledgeable about what needed to be done and showed great understanding and kindness in dealing with our needs. Greg was the person who performed the services, and he did an outstanding job. I would absolutely hire this company again and will most certainly be happy to recommend them. They showed great respect and concern and were focused on providing excellent service and they succeeded!
Description of Work: Replaced the entire ceiling in my laundry room, as well as repaired an area of ceiling in my living room.
It went very well. The work performed by Brian was excellent and I would highly recommend Bizzzy Beeand owner VinceCurcio. It was such an easy way to complete projects that I had been putting off for way too long.

Awesome! Chris did a fantastic job. You can't tell that a chair rail used to be there. Thank you!
Description of Work: Removed a chair rail and then sanded, primed and painted the area where the chair rail was removed.
We are getting ready to put our house on the market and I had a list of minor repairs/updates that I had put off but that needed to be done before we list the house. The repairs included landscape light repairs, repairing some display lighting in the kitchen, refinishing wooden screen doors, touch up and paint on decorative molding, replacing exterior doors and weatherstripping, some exterior painting, etc. Vince sent over a general guy who did everything except the electrical and painting and then the electrician and painter came when needed. The guys all did excellent work. They ended up working for almost two weeks on our place. They cleaned up every evening and were very clear about when they would resume work for the next morning. They were professional and were very competent workers. I added a few tasks to the list as the work progressed and they were very accommodating about the additions. I would totally recommend these guys and would definitely use them again.
Description of Work: General house repair and maintenance
Felt that it took longer that what I anticipated. I had bought the flooring but needed one more box, Installers had to go get the box along with other supplies. Upon coming back realized they needed to exchange flooring that they bought for a different kind. In all the hours were calculated at 23 for the total job. They also looked up Home Depot and found that when they arrived it was not the home depot store therefore another charge to the hours calculated. Their actual work is beautiful and I am very please. Wonder if Vinnie would review the bill and make adjustments.

Both techs were very professional--one was about 5 minutes early and the other was about 15 minutes late because he needed to stop and get gas. Not a big deal at all, and once here they worked very efficiently and got all the work done in 2 hours. Tom in particular was very detail-oriented and ensured the measurements were perfect and we were happy with it before moving on. He even dusted the shelves and cleaned the mirrors after. Overall, very happy with the prompt service and exceeded expectations.
Description of Work: Hung 2 heavy mirrors and 2 pieces of art high on wall (at about 18 ft in 2-story living room).

I would definitely call them again. They were able to help get a lot of small projects done since I'm not able to get them done myself. They were timely and cleaned up any messes. I really felt like he knew what he was doing.
Description of Work: assembled smoker, few other minor repairs around the house.
Went well, all work completed. Vince is very nice and responsive. The system is that he sends out a guy to do each task, not just one guy for the job, so I ended up with a plumber, an electrician, and then another handyman to do the rest. they were all nice and did the work.
Description of Work: Installed ceiling fans and toilet. Hung up towel racks and toilet paper holders in bathrooms. Fixed valves in kitchen sink. Patched wall where medicine cabinet was.
I am very pleased with the work that was done in my home. Gary is a true professional with many years of electrical experience. He arrived on time and worked steadily until the jobs were completed. Such attention to detail! I would not hesitate to use the Bizzzy Bee again.
Description of Work: Assembled and installed 3 ceiling fans. Removed 2 existing fans and installed 1 of those. Installed dimmer switch, 3 light fixtures in bathrooms and one in kitchen.

The owner of the busy bee called us back but the experience was not pleasant. He offered to come out and do another hour of service, but their were conditions. He wanted us to up grade the grade on Angie's list and not contact Angie's list if we weren't happy. I felt intimidated almost bullied. Is this how they maintain their A rating by strong arming the people they do service with. At first I thought he really wanted to do the right thing but instead of coming out and finishing he justified the job . Very poor service. I would never use this company again I am sorry I did not realize he had replied but he is wrong. He lied. .He is wrong . we even sent him a picture of the nail holes in the wall I gave him a slight higher grade because it was one of his employees but he is straight out lying and that deserves a D. He even said he would come out and fix what the guy left and never called back. He is lying and I have the pictures to show the nail holes left and I can attach them He is wrong and did not do quality work for us. He may have done good work for everyone else but he did not for us. Our report stands and is corrected related to his dishonesty.
Description of Work: Let fixed support at stairs bit still had one hour and 20 minutes left. Everything we ask him to fix for some reason he could not do it . Not great experience. The handymen carry no supplies so if you need certain screws or something patched from the work they will start charging you for the time to go get supplies and at 55.00 an hour that is unfair .Especially when they left the holes in the wall after their work.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
This is an absolutely dishonest and absurd report. I wasn’t aware that there was a problem until after I saw a B report that stated that this customer felt cheated for not getting the full two hours of service that they paid for and that they would not use us again. Naturally I was concerned so I left a message to follow up with this customer in order to find out from them what the problem was. I was told that the technician refused to perform basic tasks that the customer believed he should have been able to perform and left them with uncompleted repairs. I told the customer that I would find out why the technician did not perform those tasks and get back with them. After speaking with our technician, I learned that the customer wanted a shelf hung that needed anchors that the customer did not have and a hammock hung using hooks that where questionable for use as an adequate and safe support system. We have no way of knowing what is needed for a specific task until we see what the requested task is and where it is to be installed. Each item has its own required size of hardware and each surface its own acceptable safe anchoring limits. The various combinations of requirements change from task to task, so it is best to evaluate first-hand the requested task and then get the proper and safe hardware to meet that particular need. This customer felt that we should automatically know what we should have for their repairs and have it at the ready on our vehicles. This is not a realistic expectation. There are different sizes and shapes of everything you can imagine. Even something as simple as drywall has ¼”, ½”, 5/8” & ¾” thickness – Then there are standard sheets that come in sizes of 4’x4’, 4’x8’, 4’x10’ and 4’x12’ – But Wait, There’s More!!! We also need to know if it’s a standard faced gypsum or green board. And don’t even get me started on safety requirements for the hundreds of screws and anchors out there. Then there are different surfaces that we have to mount to such as: drywall, brick, block, stone, granite, slate, stucco, tile; and what type of tile; ceramic, porcelain or a composite. But this customer thinks that we should automatically know what they need and have it on our vehicles…but back to the facts concerning this customer’s complaint. The technician did not refuse to perform the tasks but informed the customer that a store trip would be required to get the specific supplies required to perform the requested tasks. The fact is that this customer did not want to pay more than the minimum service call special that they purchased. Therefore the technician could not go any further with the job because going to the store and then performing the required tasks would have put him over the two hour special that this customer purchased. Our technician explained these facts to the customer while he was at the customer’s home, but this customer did not want to accept his explanation and chose to write a bad review without speaking with me first. When I called the customer back to explain and re-iterate to them why the technician did not perform those tasks, the customer refused to accept the explanation and claimed that I was just making excuses for our technician. In spite of the fact that the customer became hostile towards me and our company, I assured them that we were being honest with them and even offered to come back at no charge to them for another hour of service. They refused my offer and made it clear that we were not welcome to come back and work at their home. Now this customer has elected to go back on the Angie’s List system for reviews and down grade their original review from a B to a C and has added the false accusation of being bullied, harassed and given a conditional return of service offer for an upgraded review. How sad for them. They actually want you to think that I would jeopardize over a decade of solid A-grade service to take advantage of them for their $110 service call. It is an absolute false accusation and it is an absolute insult to our high quality service reputation. I genuinely feel sorry for people like this because they think nothing of discrediting others when they can’t have their way and get what they want for free. I believe that we reap what we sow and I live each day by the golden rule; doing unto others out of a heart of love even as I would want done unto myself. That is the best way to live and I strive to do so each and every day. I do not wish ill will on these folks and truly hope that one day, they find peace and happiness for their souls. If you are looking for an honest, quality-minded company that cares about your needs to perform services at your home; look at the hundreds of A grade reviews that we have and know that we are that company. We look forward to hearing from you, Vince C. at The Bizzzy Bee.
