Vince's team of handymen are amazing! I cannot give Vince and his team enough compliments, everyone should hire them for everything!! They carefully read through the inspector's report and were able to fix every detail in less than 2 days for way less money than I had expected. They were cheap, professional, detail-oriented and efficient; plus they can fix everything. The story gets better, though, because the buyers of my home had the house re-inspected and found new issues. After reviewing the inspection and the house, Vince gave us a detailed quote for the new fixes, which was significantly less that what the buyers were asking for. Therefore, he was able to save us thousands of dollars and kept the house sale from falling through. Even though the buyers did not use him for the repairs, he still saved us from losing the house sale. Plus, he is always kind, quick and professional. A+
Description of Work: Before we listed our house for sale we had it inspected and the inspector came back with a long list of fixes. Some of these fixes included: water damaged dry wall, rotted window dormers, lose deck rails, broken gutters, microwave install, deteriorated mortar on front bricks, broken shutters, lose mail box and lose roof singles.

Vince stayed on top of everything that needed to be done. The dog door was professionally done. A frame had to be built for the door that would be a solid fit. The dog door was going into a window track and the installation was very complex. The job was done flawlessly. The steps had to be custom built also. They too are well designed and very sturdy. Vince did a really superb job and exceeded my expectations.
Description of Work: I had a large dog door installed in my sunroom, a set of steps installed for my shed and my split rail fence fixed. The dog door was a custom job since it had to replace a window.

The lady that came was very sweet and polite - but worked EXTREMELY slow - which is just not okay for handyman services when you are charging by the hour. I was never even informed that someone else would be coming - I assumed it would be Vince from our phone conversation. Felt extremely taken advantage of and when I called during the work day to talk to him about it - he got very argumentative and rude about it. I'm sure he will respond to this bashing me like he does for other reviewers here, but if he had handled the situation more courteously then I would be writing a very different review. I informed him when I originally inquired that we were on a budget and were just trying to do a few things to fix up our house for putting it on the market - but it felt like they were pushing me to do more jobs than needed and not quoting me on how long things his team pushed were expected to take. Not transparent about time, shopping took WAY too long, took an hour just to take pictures of what they might do - all being charged. I have used other handymen services that are quick, honest, POLITE and efficient - Vince was none of those things. I will reiterate that the lady that came was very nice, but it took an unreasonably long time to perform most of the tasks on the punch list.

Extremely Slow?! No Way!!! I Was Argumentative and Rude?! Not True!!! We Took Advantage of this Customer?! Absolutely False!!! Let's look at the Facts and you can decide. Fact #1: 95% of our customers love us and our service, the Stats don't lie. Fact #2: We actually have Very Few unhappy customers, once again, the Stats don't lie. Fact #3: Almost every one of the people who have complained simply wanted more for less; and were angry with me because I refused to negotiate with them after the services were completed. Fact #4: Of Those who have complained, Most of them wrote out of anger and intentionally exaggerated the facts to make themselves look like a victim. Let's see just how "Honest" this customer was in their review: Deception #1: This job was completed on Nov. 3rd, 2016 - NOT - March 20th, 2017 Deception #2: This customer was sent (2) of my crew members - NOT - just one woman Deception #3: The first technician spent the 1st hour, with the customer, walking through their requested repair list below. While they listened to what this customer wanted us to repair, they wrote everything down on the work order and documented the damage with pictures plus made a material list for the multiple repairs we were about to perform. We Did NOT "just walk around taking pictures for an hour". A second technician was sent out after we discovered that they wanted such a large list of items repaired and needed them done as soon as possible. Deception #4: They were being pushed to make more repairs. This customer called us with a list of what they wanted us to repair so they could put their home on the market and show it. When we arrived, we simply asked them to show us what they wanted us to do and then did what they requested - NOTHING More. They have exaggerated the facts. Deception #5: This customer was given our rates up-front BEFORE we ever came to their home. We were told that they had to get things ready as soon as possible because they were relocating for a better job opportunity that opened up. We told them we would go as fast as we could for them - We NEVER Avoided Their Questions or Concealed our prices. Additionally, our rates are listed on the work order that they signed. We were absolutely transparent and they were absolutely dishonest about the facts. Deception #6: This customer's repairs required shopping at two separate suppliers for over $200 in supplies, which came to 2.25 hours (Sherwin Williams for the correct paint and Home Depot). We had to travel to each store, shop for multiple items, wait our turn at each location, loaded the materials, traveled back to the customer and unloaded the materials. Given what had to be completed - We Did NOT - take Way Too Long as this customer claims. They expected all shopping to be completed in one hour or less which was logistically impossible. Deception #7: Below is the list of items that this customer asked us to perform. Notice that there was Tile work, Plumbing, Dry-wall repair, Plaster wall repair, Painting, Exterior power washing/cleaning and General Carpentry. Out of the (15) repairs that they requested us to perform, we completed (10) and had the (3) major repairs halfway finished within (10) hours of actual repair time in (1) day. In order for my team to get that much work completed within such a short amount of time, they had to be moving at a steady pace - NOT Extremely Slow - as this customer claims. Just think what they would have had to pay if they had to call multiple companies instead of just one to perform such a wide range of services. Tile: Re-grout the seams in the kitchen counter top - COMPLETED Plumbing: Installed (1) new sink faucet and (2) new supply lines - COMPLETED Drywall & Painting: Repaint the laundry room cabinets - NOT DONE Repair multiple plaster cracks on the ceiling in the kitchen; prime and paint the ceiling - Repairs Made with 1st coat of mud applied - PARTIALLY COMPLETED Repair multiple plaster cracks on the ceiling in the living room; prime and paint the ceiling - Repairs Made with 1st coat of mud applied - PARTIALLY COMPLETED On (1) bedroom ceiling repair (3) section of drywall with water damage, prime and paint the ceiling - Repairs Made with 1st coat of plaster applied - PARTIALLY COMPLETED Exterior Cleaning: Pressure wash the front walkway - COMPLETED Pressure wash the back walkway - COMPLETED Pressure wash the front deck including the hand railings - COMPLETED Pressure wash the back deck including the hand railings - COMPLETED Remove the cob-webs around the entire house and (2) porches - COMPLETED Carpentry: Repair the front entry door sweep - COMPLETED Re-secure the loose rear entry door knob - COMPLETED Repair (1) bad deck board on the porch - COMPLETED Repair multiple scratches on the trim from the dogs around the perimeter of the living room - NOT DONE Deception #8: We Did NOT Take Advantage - of this customer as they have claimed. We gave them a good service for their money. This customer claimed to me that we should have been able to perform everything within 8-10 hours and claimed that we were trying to drag out the job. What they did not tell you in their review is that they met with us and then took off to do whatever they needed to do. They didn't stick around to see just how hard my crew was working. They did not understand the steps that drywall and plaster wall repairs require. They did not think about the amount of filth and damage that their dogs created around the outside and inside of their home. They just ASSUMED that we could fix it all in a day. Their expectation was totally unrealistic and completely unreasonable. If this customer had been reasonable, we could have had their work completed in one more visit. Deception #9: If being honest and direct while pointing out the facts is being rude and argumentative, than I am guilty as charged. I simply refused to give them free service. I refused to negotiate the cost of the bill. And, after being ignored with no response for a full month, payment had to be requested upon threat of a lien. So who is the dishonest one here? How sad that this individual felt that it was acceptable to demonize honest hard working people just because they could not get their 10 pound bag of repairs for the cost of a 5 pound bag. If you are looking for an honest, hard-working, quality-conscience company; call the Bizzzy Bee, and we will put our many years of experience to work for you. Vince C. - The Bizzzy Bee

Vince, the owner of the Bizzzy Bee, personally came by to assess my issue and was prompt, professional and he provided me with a detailed written estimate. He was able to determine the best approach to look for any possible water intrusion in and around a door to an outside balcony in my 3rd floor condominium unit. Within a few days I was scheduled for work and two crew members came out and removed the door, framing and door sill and determined that my sill was not the cause of leaks below my unit. The work lasted approx 6-7 hours. They did however reseal the door sill to ensure waterproofing while the sill was exposed. I was very happy that Vince was able to use his extensive knowledge and experience with situations similar to mine to solve my issue. I would wholeheartedly recommend Vince's company based on the excellent service he and his crew provided.
Description of Work: I needed someone who had the right experience to assess and re-mediate possible water intrusion/leakage in and around exterior doors, especially in a multi-floor building.

It went extremely slow, the general handyman spent 6 hours replacing and painting the trim on the 4 1x1 columns omnthe porch. While waiting for paint to dry he replaced 3 of the 5 splitrails. Nothing else was completed and I was charged for 8.5 hours of work. I had to ask him to wrap up and leave and he seemed annoyed that I didn't want to pay additional hours for the other work to be completed. Vince failed to tell me that the electrician had a two hour minimum. I wouldn't have had the outlets repaired if I had known that. This company charges hourly and obviously keep that in mind while working. I would not recommend them to anyone.
Description of Work: I needed trim replaced on the columns on my front porch, the columns painted, splitrails replaced on my fence, popcorn ceiling patched and a few outlets repaired.

Wow, Wow, Wow! Prior to writing this bogus review, this customer E-mailed me with complaints in an effort to negotiate paying less than what the actual invoice for services came to. When I looked into their claims, I wrote them back and proved to them by the actual records and pictures from the job that they were incorrect in their assessment of the facts. I also reminded them that they spoke with me personally and that I verbally informed them prior to services being performed that there is a (2) hour minimum for specialty trade services. Additionally, I always send our flyers and rates in writing prior to starting any job so that there is no confusion or surprises. In fact, I notate it on their file when I send them and theirs went out on 03-06-2017. What company sends out an electrician or a plumber for $25 or $45?! It's not possible to do so, and yet this customer would have you to believe that they actually expected an electrical repair to be performed without being charged a minimum base rate fee. The truth is that the electrician was able to trouble shoot and locate the problem within the first hour of being on site. So when this customer realized that they were being charged the (2) hour minimum as they were informed they would be, they tried to negotiate the charges by claiming that there were issues. Just for the record, the actual charges for the total job was 8.25 hours NOT 8.5 hours as this customer claims. Our base rate for our service is $45 per man hour which is half the going rate for most of the specialty trades in the area. So the electrical repairs came to $90. Good luck trying to get electrical repairs in the Charlotte area for such a low fee. This customer felt that they should only have to pay $45 of the (2) hour minimum. But notice that this customer tries to make you believe that they were charged 8.5 hours for the column and fence repairs. They did not mention that they had electrical repairs as part of their invoice and actually stated that "Nothing Else Was Completed". What they also do not mention is that the first thing that we have to do when we get on site is evaluate the repairs, make a material list, get the required materials and then we can start repairs. That entire process, which included a trip to the store for supplies, took (1) hour. The point of all this, is that the repairs to the columns and fence did not take 8.5 hours as this customer claims. When I subtract the (0.25) hour that this customer exaggerated, the (1) hour for evaluation and supply run, and the (2) hours for the electrical repair, I am left with 5.25 hours for the actual repair time on the fence and the columns. So let's see what was actually accomplished in that 5.25 hours. The next deception in this customer's review is the claim that our technician only replaced and painted the trim on the (4) columns. But the truth is that all four columns required cleaning, trim rot repair, sanding, caulking, spot priming, and painting. Let me be clear on this point, because this customer only mentions the trim. But our technician was asked and completed the repairs to the trim and then painted the entire column x4; NOT just the trim at the base. In fact, there was trim at the top of the columns that was also painted. The actual time cleaning, making those repairs, and then performing the painting took 4.5 hours. Oh yeah, that leaves us the fence repair; the fence repair took 1/2 hour. Wow!!! That's NOT 8.5 hours, but that's what this dishonest individual was trying to convince you of. As for the last 0.25 hour, the technician cleaned-up the work area and completed paperwork. So the real facts are these: This customer wanted to pay less than what their repairs actually cost. When they wrote me to complain and I did not offer a discount, they have decided to falsely accuse my company of foul play. In their report they have misrepresented the total quantity of labor time charged, the total labor time spent to perform specific tasks and they claimed that they were never informed of our rates for specialty trades. All of these misrepresentations are intentional to demonize my company for not giving them free service. How Sad for Them that this is how they treat their fellow man. If you are looking for an honest, quality minded company with a proven track record, give us a call and we will be more than happy to assist you any way that we can. Vince C. Owner of the Bizzzy Bee.

Not good. Days after the work was done we noticed cracks in the steps and he eventually sent a worker out to fix the cracks, but he did not communicate to us when the worker was to come out. Then a few days later we noticed cracks around the same spots that were repaired and we were told to read the contract and that they could not be expected to fix all the cracks.

Work was good. The initial proposal was misleading and the actual charges were higher than the quoted price. His worker did call to notify us of the start date, but he did not inform us of his return date to complete work. He called me that morning while he was enroute and expected payment that day even though work had not been completed and assessed. After reviewing and comparing charges, I called owner and he emailed me back instead of calling me, very unprofessional.

Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
I have several issues with this review as this Customer has embellished the facts over a difference of what they wanted to pay versus what the job actually took. First of all, the estimate they were given details the procedure for the work that was completed and a verbal explanation was also given prior to us performing the work. On Line item #4 of their estimate, it states the following: "On the front entry steps, cut out the bad sections of mortar and replace with new mortar as needed; Acid wash the repair to remove the mortar haze caused by the point up process". On their proposal, I estimated that job to take 7 to 8 hours to complete. This customer was charged 7.5 hours of labor, less than the high end of the estimate. On line item #8 of their estimate, it states as follows: "Material and Equipment pick up and handling". On their proposal, I estimated 2 to 2.5 hours of labor to handle the material and equipment needs for all of the items on their initial list. Since they only had us perform the one repair, they were only charged 1.5 hours which is typical for two trips with a pressure washing unit and a store trip for materials. Once again, they were billed less than the high side of the estimate. Where is the misrepresentation? It does not exist. They are angry because they did not want to pay for line item #8 and when they realized that I was not going to give that to them for free, they decided to demonize my company on a public forum; Shame on them. They also claimed that we tried to collect for the work before it was completed. That was also incorrect and does not make any sense as we are a maintenance company and do not invoice until the job is complete. The husband was home when the job was finished but chose to wait before giving up the payment. My technician was instructed to go on to the next job and there was no pressure or issue raised with the customer. They claim that they did not know that we were coming the second time we came but they were told when the mortar point-up process was completed that we would be back in 5 to 7 days to perform the acid wash after the mortar had cured and that we would call when in route. That is exactly what we did and this was outside their home so they did not need to be there unless they chose to. When I received a phone message from one of the homeowners questioning the charges, I answered the same day with a detailed accounting of the invoice with a comparison to the written proposal. Rather than banter on the phone when there is a question on charges, I choose to back up the charges with verifiable facts in writing as it is ultimately what people ask for. In my written response, I stated that if they had any further questions to give me a call so that I can further explain. This customer falsely accuses me of being unresponsive and unprofessional when I responded immediately in writing with verifiable facts per their written estimate. I gave a responsible and professional reply, but they insist that I did not. Wow! If anyone would like a copy of this customer's proposal versus the actual invoice, I can prove that what I am saying is accurate and that we actually came in under the original estimate. With over 30 years in the world of maintenance, I have learned that there are all kinds of folks out there and we cannot please them all. Even so, we continue to do our very best to help everyone that we can. With 15 consecutive years of super service awards in various categories, I would say that your chances of getting a great service from our company is better than average. We look forward to assisting you as needed, Until Then, Best Wishes. Vince C. The Bizzzy Bee.

Vince was very easy to work with. He scheduled the work for the first available Saturday. This was amazing since many handymen I researched did not work on Saturday. The contractor (whose name I don't remember, sorry) was skilled, polite, and professional. He needed to go out and buy part of the door jam once he knew what ours looked like. Before going he gave me two options and we discussed which material would be better. Once at the store, they did not have the one I had chosen so our contractor called me to get my approval for the other option-which I gave. The job was completed in a timely manner and the door looks and works great! I will hire The Bizzy Bee again.

HORRIBLE....IT MAKES ME WANT TO "NEVER" USE ANGIES LIST AGAIN...I HAVE REPORTED THIS COMPANY TO BBB, ATTORNEY GENERAL AND I AM READY TO GET IN A LEGAL BATTLE WHEN NECESSARY...THIS IS TERRIBLE AND IT IS A GOOD THING THAT WE INTERVENE!!
Description of Work: i hired them to Only INSTALL SHEETROCK (PHOTOS INCLUDED) to one side of ceiling in an 11x10 room THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN PREPPED BY RESTORATION CO.. the contractor came out to look at job and i was Billed 2.5 hrs (owner said that i was billed for contractor having to go get spray to spray ceiling for possible mold that had already been prepped by Restoration Co??) Day 2: he sent 2 guys to install sheetrock and they billed me for hrs that they didn't work.. (WHEN I TOLD HIM IT WAS AN INSURANCE CLAIM HE ASKED FOR DOWN PAYMENT AND I GAVE HIM A CK FOR $500)...7.5 (he said double charges for 2 guys for the 7.5 hrs that they alleged they worked) for 2 guys to install sheetrock and mudd...Day 3: They came to finish ceiling and never did (skimmed ceiling) one of the guys said he was going to install light fixture to already existing ceiling fan (he removed cap and left it) and took blades off another ceiling fan that was already installed and was to be moved to room with water damage once ceiling was done...the other guy hung a 4" towel rack, adjusted 2 other towel racks that were already hung, mounted a TV bracket in corner for a 30" tv, and put a small shelf underneath that. was there 5 hrs. The 4th day i asked for bill for work already done to see what billing looked like....AND HE TOLD ME $292 FOR SUPPLIES AND $1000 FOR LABOR AND NOW THREATENING TO TAKE ME TO COURT BECAUSE I REFUSE TO PAY HIM ANYMORE MONEY AND REFUSE TO ALLOW THEM BACK INTO MY HOME..HE STATES NOW THAT THEY WANT TO COME OUT AND SKIM CEILING AGAIN??? Response from Vince Curcio - The Bizzzy Bee
This customer originally called with a request for service of a drywall ceiling repair due to a water leak. They asked us to inspect for mold and I informed them that if they were concerned about mold, we would spray with an anti-fungal as a precautionary measure and they approved of that. When we arrived on the job, nothing that they described to me was accurate. They had never informed me that they had a mold remediation company out and the ridiculous size of the opening they created required 2.75 full sheets of drywall to cover. For those who aren't familiar with the size and weight of drywall, I can assure you that (1) man cannot lift a 4'x8'x0.5" sheet of drywall overhead and secure it to the joists by himself. It's not physically possible nor is it safe. Additionally, the customer failed to mention that the insulation for that area had to be replaced as well. The customer was sent the receipt for the materials which came to $292.97 (of which over $150 of that was insulation, with the rest being drywall, plastic, paint, drywall mud, etc). The $500 to which she referred was a material deposit to purchase materials for the water damage repairs AND other materials for electrical modifications they requested. Insurance had nothing to do with it and frankly, the accusation is slanderous. They signed a contract for Multiple Repairs to be completed by the hour plus materials. This customer has tried to make it seem as if the drywall repair was the only work that we performed. The picture they have tried to paint is shamefully dishonest and the pictures that they uploaded prove that we performed several other tasks than what they have tried to emphasize. Additionally, this customer was given full accountability for the time spent for each day, which I will share with you folks so that you can judge for yourself. The following is from the invoice that we sent them: BB only Day One (12/6/2016): 2.25 man hours Met with customer's daughter and did a walk through on the drywall repairs and did a work order Removed plastic tarp and checked upstairs for ongoing leak or other issues before starting work Made material list and went to Lowe's; shopped materials; loaded them, brought them back to the job, and unloaded (this is a billable part of the job per the contract) Sprayed antifungal in the attic in the area where the leak took place (customer requested that we inspect for any mold issues and agreed for us to spray an antifungal as a precaution) Rehung the black plastic tarp so heat loss was minimized Reported in to the office BB & TR Day Two (12/7/2016): 14.5 total man hours after lunch deduction (7 hrs for BB & 7.5 for TR) TR reviewed and wrote up an addendum for additional work requested by customer and per their request inspected the AC drip pan for a proper condensate drip line. BB spread plastic to protect the work area Together, they measured out for the stud locations to see where they would have to cut the sheetrock to hit the studs which would call for one more sheet of Sheetrock (needed 2.75 sheets instead of 2) They marked the lines and cut out the sheetrock Removed all nails screws and staples from the original drywall installation that had been left behind by the previous contractor Once the area was clean and prepped, together they installed the new insulation Then they installed the two sheets of sheetrock they had from the original store trip At roughly 11AM, they went through Jimmy John's [Member Information Removed] thru and picked up lunch on the run and stopped at the store to pick up an additional sheet of drywall (Their lunch time was not billed to customer) They got back and hung the last sheet which was two cut pieces (one had to be cut out for an air vent another for the fan) Together they taped off and then mudded with the first coat of mud Afterwards, BB hung (1) tp holder, (1) towel bar was removed, hardware tightened and reinstalled, installed (1) new towel bar and (1) rag holder in bathroom Repaired the multiple drywall holes in the same bathroom TR relocated (1) tv and connected cables Repaired (3) drywall holes where the TV was previously mounted Installed (1) corner shelf Cleaned up the work areas and reported in BB only Day Three (12/8/2016): 5 man hours Set up fresh plastic to protect the room Rough sanded the first coat of mud Second coated all tape seams Cleaned up and reported in There was a sum total of 21.75 total man hours and not a single moment was idle or dawdled time. This customer has distorted the facts and has refused payment for services rendered (and documented). You wouldn't go to a restaurant, order a meal, have the meal prepared, eat the meal, and then refuse to pay for everything ordered, but that's essentially what they have done to us. What type of person would do that? That's dishonest and yes, there are consequences. With 15 consecutive years of Super Service award winning history, we stand ready to serve any honest customers that need an honest, quality minded company for their home repairs. Vince Curcio, The Bizzzy Bee.
