Valentine Painting

We had worked with Jim and his crew at our previous home. He did such an amazing job that we had him do the trim work in our new one. Very prompt, the crew is courteous and very careful about their work. We are planning on Valentine Painting doing the outside of our home as well. Definitely worth the money.

I highly recommend Valentine Painting for the knowledgeable and professional job they did for us. All of the 22 badly painted interior doors in our 1970’s condo were peeling, and the old, cheap hinges had many coats of paint when we bought this condo. They seriously detracted from the remodeling improvements we have done. I received several estimates for repair and repainting of the doors, all of which were quite expensive but cost less than replacing the doors. Jim Valentine gave me a very knowledgeable and professional explanation of what caused the peeling paint and how his crew would correct the problem. He also agreed to replace the ugly old hinges as part of the job. His price was comparable to the other estimates, and reasonable when I considered the sanding, dusting, oil-based primer, rehanging and two coats of premium paint required to fix the problem. He and his great crew were always on time, wore their masks, and kept our home clean and relatively dust-free. They were quick to respond to all of my concerns and did the job as agreed upon in our contract. The doors now look perfectly beautiful and make an amazing difference in this older condo! The crew did an absolutely meticulous Jon with our job. We had a lot of cracks, imperfections and holes in our walls and they took the utmost care to not only paint but to ensure that the walls were smooth, repaired, etc. The transformation is amazing. Jim monitors the entire process and holds his crews to the highest standards. The crew was extremely professional and courteous and cleaned up after themselves. They even cleaned our front foyer window just because they were up on the ladder! We have used Jim for years and will continue to use him for additional paint jobs.

Excellent! Very responsive from initial bid, scheduling, performing, and final inspection of all work. No damage to extensive screened sections. Jim and his crew did a great job for us! They arrived on time and were very easy to work with. We have an older home that had significant peeling issues on the plaster ceilings. I contacted Valentine paint, recommended by a neighbor, and Jim Valentine came out within a couple of days to look at the work and provide a quote. He was clearly very knowledgeable about the work that needed to be done, transparent about how extensive it was and very helpful in educating me on the process needed. He understood my timeline and requests and was able to fit me in within about a week. He and his team were punctual, took great care to protect my furniture and floors, and completed the job within a reasonable time. Jim came by multiple times during the project to check on status and quality. He inspected and made sure every last detail was perfect before packing up and leaving. I would recommend his company for any of your painting needs and will definitely be using them again!

Jim and his team were professional, responsive, and did a phenomenal job. Pricing was absolutely in line with quotes I had received in the past. I chose a very pigmented color (SW-Moscow Midnight) to match the background of the wallpaper in the dining room and they did a beautiful job. We had to make some choices about where to stop and start the color. And where the dark color meets bright white (around the doors and windows) was done amazingly well (and I'm pretty OCD about stuff like that). Will definitely be having them back for more work. Last week Jim Valentine and his crew painted a number of interior and exterior surfaces in our home. I've used Jim several times in the past, and know him to be an amazing contractor who is professional, high quality and wonderful to deal with. Great. I am having my master bathroom updated and I chose Valentine Painting to handle the painting portion of the project. I decided to paint over wallpaper versus taking it down which would have been labor intensive and most likely require wall repair. So, two trips wee required of the painters. The first to prime the walls with an oil based primer and paint the ceiling. the second trip required more prep and then two coats of paint. In addition, a linen closet was painted as well as three doors, door trim, baseboards and shoe molding. Given the pressure scheduling by my remodeler, a big thank you to Jim Valentine for being flexible and helping me stay on my remodeler's tight schedule.

If we could give 10 stars we would! This was the most professional, detailed, punctual, company we have ever had do anything for us. They did excellent work. Well worth the money. Highly recommend!

In August 2019, Valentine Painting & Decorating, LLC painted our home both inside and outside and we are so happy we selected this company as our painting contractor. Our home looked wonderful when the project was completed and we have had numerous compliments about the quality of the work. When Jim Valentine, owner of Valentine Painting, first visited our home to assess the size of our project and provide us with an estimate he took a genuine interest in what we wanted done and, based upon his extensive experience in the industry, gave us sound advice on what would be needed to meet our goals and expectations. We felt confident Jim was the one we wanted to take on our project and it was the right decision. Edgar, Crew Chief, oversaw the daily painting activities of his crew to ensure everything met the high standards demanded by Valentine Painting. The crew arrived on time every morning and worked into the late afternoon and on Saturdays. Every member of the crew was professional, cheerful, courteous, and polite and took exceptional care to make sure furniture, carpeting, hardwood floors, etc. were protected from paint spills. Edgar and his crew were at our home a total of 22 days and once the project was completed, we were sorry to see them go. Great. Jim examined the property carefully, gave a clearly stated estimate, came when he said he would, and demanded quality work from his crew. The painting crew were careful, neat, and congenial, easy to work with and to have on our property. The painting job on both the exterior and the interior was absolutely first-class. The preparation work was exceptionally thorough, and the crew was diligent in repairing all cracks, scrapes, and other imperfections in the walls. The trim work was clean and precise, and the wall paint was completely smooth and consistent. The same crew was present every day, and they were all professional and committed to finishing the project on time. Mr. Valentine was present frequently throughout the project, and he kept me informed of any complications or changes. This is a good company, and I would use them again.

Jim painted the master bedroom the perfect shade of green for my mother. She absolutely loves it. Afterwards, Jim sat down and gave us the perfect rundown on the happenings of our new town since we had just moved here. Great personality, felt like family. They don't make 'em like that anymore.

Jim and the crew tackled a 15 year old 4,000 sq ft house with gusto. We had many hundreds of feet of trim, windows and doors to tackle. They were efficient and made the walls and trim look great. We had to vacate the home for them to work their magic. Our walls and cabinets look outstanding. We also painted our cabinets and are not sure we would do that again. This may have had more to do with the cabinets than the painting though. Overall, pleased with the work that Jim & team performed. A whole house transformation done well.

After finding Valentine Painting on Angie's List, I e-mailed the company and explained where I was located and the work I needed done. Jim Valentine answered my e-mail promptly, and I then telephoned him and told him the work I needed done. I was not in a super hurry, but DID want the job done. He made an appointment to come a couple of days later to see the bathrooms and give me an estimate. Jim came exactly when he promised to. He gave me a reasonable estimate, and said he would get back to me within a couple of days to arrange a date to have the job done. He actually called me later that same day, and said he had two workers available the next day to come. I agreed. We arranged for the painters to arrive at 9:00 the following day. At 9 on the dot the next day, the two painters arrived. They did an EXCELLENT job. They were polite, respectful, thorough, neat, clean, professional. Jim and his crew did a wonderful job painting our walls, doors, and ceilings. They took their time to make sure everything was done perfectly. They even caulked our bathrooms even though it was not part of the contract. We will definitely hire them again in the future.

Jim Valentine is extremely professional and his employees are very competent and polite. They are very knowledgeable. In addition to painting my cabinets they drilled new holes on all drawers and patched the old hole since I wanted to replace existing knobs with pulls on the drawers. My cabinets look absolutely beautiful and I am so pleased with the work they did. I must also add that they did a fine job of cleaning when the job was completed. In the future I plan to have them paint interior walls in my house since I was so pleased with their work.
