Description of Work: I requested quote and their first reply message was send us to email pictures of your cabinets and measurements !! I don't operate as such ??? When i request a contractor to come out and quote I expect such to verify the work I request and expect!! This one wants you to email ALL pictures of requested work and the dementions of the area involved in your project,,,,, and then who knows email you a quote ????? NEVER any idea of a home visit unless he got the job !!! Guess what thorough text messages on my displeasure with this approach,,,,,,,,,, WOULD NOT EVER DO ANY BUSINESS !!!!!

Description of Work: Highly professional. Their bid for both outside and inside painting of our 4500 sq foot home was within $50 of next bid for interior and about $1,300 higher on exterior. Total job was approximately $11,000. They are worth every dime. The quality of their work and the professionalism of Jim and his crew was exceptional. You will not be disappointed. They took great care to protect our furnishing and didn't mind one bit when we pointed out small areas that needed additional attention.

Description of Work: Jim and his crew did an excellent job. I am a designer and very picky! They painted the complete interior of our house including all of our cabinets! Cabinet painting can be very tricky and they did an amazing job. The entire team communicates well and was a total pleasure to work with. We will be calling Jim when we are ready to paint our exterior!

Description of Work: Valentine's Painting completely refinished our double front doors, the wood trim work around the doors and a large half round window above the doors. They stripped the old finish off the doors. In a three step process they applied new stain. Then they applied a marine varnish to protect the doors. They also cleaned and applied semitransparent stain to our cedar shakes. In addition they recaulked 7 windows. |We were completely satisfied with the work Valentine Painting performed for us. We have received many complements from our neighbors on our doors and shakes. We would definitely recommend this company.

 + -1 moreI would never hire this company again in the future. Their quality of work was really bad and they had to come back out and repaint; this was the main problem that we had with this company. They came out twice to repaint; so in all it took them three times to get it right.

 + -1 moreValentine Painting returned our call quickly, scheduled an estimate and we received our quote for our job the day that Jim came out. They also assisted us in selecting colors, finish (including a faux) and the type of paint that we should use. Our project was scheduled promptly and we were surprised how quickly the job was done. We were so pleased with the outcome of the original project that we added the painting of the master bedroom and master bath. This project also went very smoothly and was completed quickly. We have worked with many painting contractors during our 25 year marriage and it was refreshing to have a contractor show up on time and thoroughly clean up when they finished. I consider myself a very picky customer and can easily state that Valentine Painting & Decorating Company is the best painter we have ever hired. We are 100% satisfied.
Description of Work: Valentine Painting painted our 3 hallway, 2 stairwells, kitchen, and master bath and painted the master bedroom with a beautiful faux finish that we were just delighted with. They repaired small areas and imperfections in the walls. In fact the owner was un-happy with the look of one of the newly painted walls because of the previous painting job and re-painted this area at no additional cost.

His crew worked long days to meet my time line. The only sour note is the characteristics of the paint used. It is a flat latex that marks easily and a drop of water leaves a mark.

Very helpful with moving furniture and relocating other items to perform the job. The work was outstanding and the crew cleaned up after themselves daily, as well as when the job was complete. The owner, Jim Valentine worked well with us with our special needs. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
Description of Work: We wanted a professional painting job for the interior of our home so we could put it on the market. This entailed walls, ceilings, closets, bathrooms, crown molding, and chair-rail for our 3100 sq ft home. The job took just over one week.

They took great care of and respect for my property while on premises. They cleaned up spotlessly after completion, the only thing left after they were done was a "beautifully painted home"! This was a project I kept putting off and putting off. Very pleased with Valentine Painting, even better, MY WIFE is pleasantly pleased as well.

 + -1 moreOverall, it went very well and we are pleased with the outcome. Jim Valentine appreciated the requirements and complexities of the job and described exactly what would be done. The job was finished on time and at the price we were quoted. Although it seemed like a high quote, the actual painters spent several days doing thorough and careful work. Other painters, both Angie's List recommended and not, gave significantly lower estimates, but did not appreciate what the job required to be done correctly. Valentine Painting was not the highest bidder either. On inspection of the finished job Jim Valentine touched up some of the work, that he felt was necessary.
