Amazing, amazing, amazing. Jim Valentine and his team are incredibly professional, courteous, timely and meticulous. I had the entire interior of my 1150 Sq Ft condo painted, including drywall work (repairing seams, holes, water damage). The quality of their work is top notch. Jim was always quick to respond (even when I changed my paint colors three times prior to them starting the job!), and was extremely patient and understanding when the flooring company I hired took two and a half weeks to do work they promised would be done in 4 days. Jim worked around their schedule and was flexible with me every time I had to push back our start date. They just finished today and I almost don't recognize the place. It is immaculate. I have walked through each room and I can't find a single flaw. His team of workers were fast and efficient. They were also very careful with my belongings (thank you!) and made sure to clean up each evening since I was still living in the condo while the work was being done. They finished everything in less than 5 days with not a single issue. This is a quality company. You'll pay a little more for this exceptional service, but it is worth it based on the results. I would have no reservations recommending Jim Valentine to any of my family and friends. Thanks for everything!

The completed job was exceptional. I have hired many companies in the past for paint and restoration work and this job was by far the most proffesionally done and the only one that I would say was done with perfection. From the start Jim Valentine was an obvious verteran and expert in his field. His consultation alone set the standard for whch all other quotes I received (3 from Angies list total) would be measured against. Jim is top notch and could be charging seperate fees for his color, design and project management work. I have been an Angies member on and off since we lived in San Francisco, CA 10 years ago. To date Jim Valientine and his crew of proffesionals have been the most satifying $$$ spent on any home project we have undertaken. Jim Valientine's right hand man and crew Manager Wilson.. has been working with this group of all "staff" W2 painters for years.. theyre like family and they all have strong skills in the art of painting. In summary I not only will hire them again but have enough confidence in Valentine Painting is the best value and quality that I will no longer use Angies list for paint work and will only call one company for future needs.

The owner of the company gave me the estimate and oversaw all of the work being performed. I was very pleased with the entire process. There was bad weather and Jim stayed in contact with me to work around this issue. Use him, you will be 100% satisfied.

They were excellent. They were very capable. There wasn't anything to dislike about them. They were punctual, professional and knew what they were doing. They didn't mess around and they did the work. They cleaned up and didn't leave a mess. I would use them again in an instant.

They did an excellent job. They were very friendly and did such a great job that it looks brand new after looking very sun damaged.

Jim first came out to give an estimate and stressed that his goal was to provide quality work for a fair price. The price was a little higher than some other painters, but I am a stickler for getting things done right without a hassle. Jim's crew showed up every day on time and worked extremely hard. They snaded baseboards, fixed holes, primed walls , recaulked windows all day for 8 days. They were always proffesional and did anything we asked. Our home needed a ton of prep work including days of sanding. The team did it with no complaints ever. On final inspection they touched up anything we asked and never argued about contract or cost. Jim came by regularly and did several walk thoughs with me and my wife. I am so picky and could not be happier with the work. They truly transformed our house and I could not be happier. We did make one change to color and it worked out great. A little extra cost, but worth the money. I would definatley reccommend them to anyone and hire them again.

Jim Valentine is the best painting contractor I have ever used. He is extremely engaging, honest and sincere. His crew showed up each day on time and were thoroughly professional. All work was conducted with great care and cleanliness. His price was very reasonable and in every respect, rates my highest recommendation.

Very Well, we have a 3700 sq/ft home interior. We were please with how job was scheduled. All work was completed as specified. Crews were on site on time and very nice to work with. Crews made sure we were satisfied during all phases of work. Crews also made sure areas we need for each night were ready. Crews cleaned up each night before they left for the evening. All work was inspected by owner when work was complete before household items were put back in place.

Excellent overall experience. I got Jim Valentine?s name from Angie?s List, and I?m glad that I called him. We scheduled our appointment to meet at the house for Jim to provide an estimate. He a couple of days in advance to confirm the appointment. However, he was running a bit late the day of the appointment, but called well in advance of our scheduled meeting time to let me know he would be a bit late. He called again when he was headed to our house. Once he arrived, Jim carefully walked each room and made notes as to what our desires were. He pointed out potential problem areas and discussed how his crew would prep these areas. In order to prepare a formal estimate, Jim walked the house again on his own and carefully completed his standard estimate sheets. He then reviewed the estimate sheets with us and provided a firm estimate on the spot. Jim called a couple of times over the next week to see if we had any questions. We chose Jim for several reasons: genuine interest in the job, excellent communication, competitive price, professionalism and commitment to working with a set, though reasonable, timeframe. We couldn?t have been more pleased. Jim?s crew had a key to our vacant home, so they were able to work at their schedule, which often included early mornings and/or late evenings. They always cleaned up when they were done. The prep work was excellent, which is key to a nice paint job. Holes in walls were patched so well there is no evidence of previous damage. No corners were cut ? shelves were fully removed, recessed lights were loosened, all switch plates were removed, etc. Jim maintained regular contact with us throughout the process, and took great pride in the work of his crew. Our paint job looks terrific. We would highly recommend Jim Valentine for interior painting needs. You would be making a mistake if you didn't have Jim provide an estimate for your job.

Showed up on time, got work done within time frame promised, did excellent job cleaning up after painting completed.

Out of the six quotes that we got, this company's quote came in the highest, almost double compared to the other four quotes, and $75 more than the fifth quote.

The job went fantastic! My house was a mess from the water damage and the dry out process. This made the work area a jumble of furniture to work in. The crew was wonderful about moving all of my furniture around, I was behind due to a broken hand. The crew couldn't have been more patient, helpful and pleasant. All of my furniture and belongings were covered with drop clothes and the doorways were sealed with plastic where sanding was done. Care was taken to properly prep walls and woodwork before painting. The crew cleaned up every day and left the carpet vacuumed and space orderly. They were very professional and I was very pleased with the finished results. While there were some difficulties with a language barrier the crew was wonderful!!! They took care not to let my animals out. They asked if I minded that they worked late, each day was 10-11 hours in length. They were extremely pleasant and careful with my belongings. They even repainted a window seat in my dining room which I didn't request. This made the job look complete in that room, they saw it and made the room look totally finished. The job was finished in less time than estimated! Jim came by and did a walk through to check details and make sure that I was happy with the results. Thank you for a very pleasant experience!

It went fantastic. They repainted some area around my front door which I didn't request. They noticed it and fixed it for me. There was one area that the owner wasn't happy about and he made his crew come back out and fix it which shows his dedication. They were very professional and I was very pleased with the finished results.

Jim and Kelly were wonderful to work with. Jim was attentive and conscientious with phone calls, scheduling, and any issues that arose. Kelly is very talented and has a great eye for color. Their painters did a great job with the bathroom ceilings and crown molding. It was difficult to find someone to take on the job of re-doing our master bath walls which had been damaged in places during our bathroom remodel, as they had been faux finished by a previous home owner. After meeting with Kelly, who actually did the master bathroom work with another painter, I was so pleased. She was not only willing to take on the job, but she had examples of her work to show us, excellent ideas for the finish, as well as suggestions for a new wall color. (Which we hadn't even considered.) She made a sample board, attempting to match the existing finish, in hopes of repairing the damaged areas of the walls to make the job less costly, and of what the new finish would look like over the existing one. Although the matching sample looked good, we chose to go with the new finish and color. (And we are so glad that we did!) After hours of hard work, we ended up with a beautiful new finish and color on our walls. We couldn't be happier with the result! Spending an extra $2,000 for painting on our bathroom remodel was not in our budget and was a bit painful, but after seeing all of the steps involved in arriving at the new finish and seeing the finished product, the cost was understandable, and we feel that this was money well spent.

He was very professional since our first consultation, having being able to come over to the house where I explained the scope of the service. He had availability to start the work the same week, which I accepted due to the convenience to my hours. His crew showed up the next day ready to do the prep work (several holes and cracks that needed to be filled, and some stains in the previous paint that needed some priming). They were also very professional, and even when I mentioned to not bother with the carpet (since it was going to be replaced anyway), they took extreme care. His foreman even called me after a choice of color did not match the others, and suggested to use a different color (which we also took the suggestion and we did not regret!). The work was accomplished in 2.5 days total, and Jim came the next day for a walk through, which we notice only a small wet area in the wall that his crew promptly came in the afternoon for a retouch. The house was unoccupied at the time (no furniture or belongings at all), and I told the crew to leave for the day and not worry with locking the doors, but they were very courteous and professional to let me know everyday when they were leaving, in case I needed to lock the doors (I didn't, since it was easier leaving one door unlocked than to lock the house and have to come back in the next mornings to unlock them).

The job went very well. The price was a bit higher than other estimates I received, but the customer service and quality workmanship was worth the extra expense. Mr. Valentine asks for a 50% deposit before the work is done, and I must admit, this made me a bit nervous. In the past, I have had some negative experiences when asked for money up front, before work is started; however, Valentine Painting proved to be trustworthy and competent. The workers did careful and thorough prep work. They were courteous and cleaned up each evening. Excellent job of painting and hanging wallpaper. I wouldn't hesitate to use Valentine painting again.

The experience was "over the top". Who wants their home in disarray for four days. Who wants the chaos of topsy turvy existence in "the nest". However, with Valentine's Painting, yes, furniture moved out of the way, covered and protected with the greatest of care. The walls are treated, sanded and thoroughly prepared. The house is 50 years old and had not been painted in 20 years, very overdue. Jim saw that and guided his team to make up for a neglected task. And the team did. His team worked when they were on site. They put in 10-12 hour days. No worry that time was ever wasted. No worry that the home was ever at risk of a "stranger's touch". The safety and security of property with Valentine's team coming and going was never an issue. They cleaned up every day and left the carpet vacuumed and space orderly. Every day, the supervisor gave an update of progress and the next day's anticipated tasks. There's not a high enough rating for Valentine's painting on Angie's List. It's the OSCAR WINNING PERFORMER as it steals the show!!! In fact, now, there's more painting to be done and there is no one else I'd rather have than Valentine Painting.

All of the valentine crew are perfectionists about their work product. They arrived on time, helped us clear the rooms, covered the entire area with drop clothes and sealed doorways with plastic where sanding was done. They take a lot of time to properly prep walls and woodwork before painting. We had very expensive wallpaper with a complex repeat that had to be matched perfectly in our dining room and were hesitant to use a painting company to hang wallpaper. As I said, they are perfectionists and the wallpaper was hung with the highest level of precision. They also hung paper in another room and that was well done. If you care about quality, I highly recommend Valentine Painting.

Great! Jim was terrific and super nice. He worked with us on matching some colors that we had from our old house. He worked with us by using the key that we left under the mat at the door to get in and he kept the key over night for security reasons and returned it to us when we agreed to meet after the job was completed. It took only 1.5 days to finish 5 rooms and 2 tray ceilings. And the work looks great! The paint job by Jim's crew was very good, great lines and no mess in our brand new house.

Excellent! The work was beautiful and most of all, Jim's crew took excellent care of my mother's house. After the job was over, the only evidence that they had been there were the newly painted walls and furniture pushed away from the walls. My first consultation with Jim was a bust and it was my fault. As soon as he pulled up to my mother's house, having driven from Waxhaw to Concord, I locked myself out! He was completely understanding and offered to come back in a couple of weeks, as I could only meet him on weekends. A few weeks later we were finally able to meet. During that consultation, I was so impressed by his professionalism and the work in his portfolio that I decided on the spot to hire him (although, I had to consult with the person paying before confirming). There were some logistical difficulties with the job as I was living in Atlanta, my mother was working in the Midwest, and my fianc , the only local contact, works pretty awful hours. We gave Jim a key to the house and asked that he finish the work pretty much sight unseen. I confirmed paint colors by email and phone and even asked Jim to select one for me. I had my mother's dining room painted black and Jim selected the black for me; it is really stunning in person. I could not have chosen better. We had one misunderstanding with the ceiling paint in the dining room - I hesitated on making a decision, Jim made a judgment call. I ended up deciding differently than Jim and he had it changed immediately and flawlessly. The one time I was able to visit the house during the project, I saw Jim's crew fixing imperfections in the walls, smoothing corners, and generally doing what seemed to this laywoman, to be impeccable work! The chair rail is perfectly positioned - a little higher than standard to accommodate a couch with a high back (Jim and his crew made this call on their own). The frame of molding is absolutely perfect and beautifully executed - clean paint lines, no seems. I gave Jim a B in price only because he was not the cheapest quote I received, but I do think my mother got more than her money's worth from the job. Jim is the kind of professional that you don't mind paying a little more for because you can ask him to use his judgment and trust it. I will use Jim in the future and recommend him widely. Overall A+!

We recently hired Jim Valentine and his talented crew to prep & paint our 100+ year old historic home/project. Having dealt with numerous other painting companies in the past (as a real estate broker I deal with them on almost a weekly basis), we were more than satisfied with the service we received through the process working with Valentine Painting. Jim, the owner, met with us and went over all our options and took the time to answer all our questions regarding paint choices, needed wood repairs, expenses, time-frames, etc. The overall experience was unlike that to which we have sadly been accustomed to in the past. We had the same job foreman throughout the process, which was a big plus, we did not have to deal with a revolving crew of different people climbing around on our house everyday. The crew that painted our home were simply top notch. They worked tirelessly and cleaned up each day before they left. I can't say enough about how impressed we were from day one with their professionalism. Jim was often on site to make sure we were happy with the job and was always accessible when we tried to reach him via cell with any questions. Great communication on the project from start to finish. The job was completed ahead of schedule and on budget with amazing results. We have referred Valentine Painting to many of our neighbors, family, and friends who were so impressed as they watched the 2 week painting transformation our home underwent.
