Valentine Painting

Jim is a professional. His estimate was thorough - no surprises. He is a full service company. Color advice (sorely needed for me), purchases the paint (2 coats). He arrived on time with a 4 man crew. They went to work taping ceilings and baseboards, spackling and sanding. I used 3 colors for the areas, they left me with a bit of extra paint which is always needed. Jim threw painting the ceiling in the billiard room with my paint because of electrical work I had done (had dry wall damage) - no charge. Also had my front doors restained and sealed to protect against the elements. They were fading pretty badly. My basement looks stunning. Work is stellar. Hope to have him and crew back to do the balance of my home.

We just recently purchased this house and the entire interior needed a fresh coat of paint. There was a lot of chunks taken out of the walls from movers, along with many, many scrapes, etc. The moment we met Jim Valentine we knew he was the one we wanted to paint our home, just how he said he would do his work and how he would repair the walls. He took pride in his work. Our house looks absolutely beautiful!! Valentine Painting did an amazing job! We are so happy with the work! They also cleaned up and put all our things back where they belonged when they were done. We also do not live in the house full time yet and trusted him with a key when we weren't there. They arrived right on time and finished the job in one day. The crew were very professional and left my bedroom and bath spotless ! They vacuumed the bedroom carpet and vacuumed the bathroom and even cleaned my large bathroom mirror ! Jim Valentine came at the end of the day and did his inspection to be sure the job met his high standards. I will hire them again in the future.

Another excellent experience with Valentine Painting. We used Jim and his team in mid-09 to paint the entire interior of our home, and didn't even get another estimate when we needed to paint the exterior. They are prompt, professional and detail oriented. The end result was of high quality. We believe that the house was painted only a few years ago by another cut-rate painter. That meant Jim's crew had a lot of prep work to do. I have no doubt that this paint job, with the proper priming, wood repair, etc, will last much longer. Jim's prices are fair, and his desire to provide a very high level of service is a refreshing experience in the "service" business.

Excellent workmanship by the entire team. We had 4 painters in during 2 days of work. The staff were polite and punctual, with the final result worth every dollar. They covered the entrance hallway, and our carpet to avoid marking our floors. They removed furniture and fittings, and then replaced them at the end (or left them removed when requested) so that they left our home neat and tidy. They even washed down our front driveway to remove any trace of their presence. When carpet fitters came in a week later and damaged some of the walls, Jim Valentine promptly responded to our "emergency" and sent a team back to re-touch our walls within 24hrs - now that's customer service!! Great job Valentine Painting and Decorating. We are very pleased with the final look of our bedroom and bathroom. I would definitely recommend them and use them again. You got to love Valentine :)

Super job. Jim Valentine had painted my daughter's new home in Matthews and we asked him to provide us an estimate on the interior painting and of our new home in Sun City Carolina's. His estimate was very competitive, but here is where Jim went the extra mile ... just about every room was a different color and sometimes two colors; we had provided Jim a table of room colors, but there were some inaccuracies (on our part) - Jim expeditously resolved these issues - in one case going to the model home home area to track down color specifics - all of this was done 'long distance" - as we were still in Fl when painting was being done. Jim personally QAs the work - so you end with a perfect paint job Bottom line: Great job, fair price and a real professional to work with

I could not be more pleased with the service and attention that Jim and his crew gave to my job. From the first consultation to the end, Jim was very personally invovled. I contracted with Valentine based on their strong reviews with Angie's List and was not disappointed. I had the crew return 2 times to just touch up and they returned promptly and made evertything right. In addition, Jim agreed to paint some trim work for me and also roll a ceiling at no additional cost. It was a pleasure doing buisness with Jim and his crew.

OUTSTANDING. Homeowner furinised the paint and primer and some wood filler. What a job. Jim will have the opportunity to handle all of our painting needs and pressure washing in the future. Jim provided an Angie's discount automatically. His team took nothing for granted and discussed with us any pertinent decisions. Jim Valentine's team provides a model to be copied in the way that he works with homeowners. We're happy to have had the opportunty to work with him and him team.

Excellent work! Was very impressed with how well they cleaned up. A little pricier than the two other qoutes I'd had, but worth it.

We got off to a rocky start because the workers left the backyard gates open and our dog took the opportunity to go on a 3 hour tour of the woods behind our house. Not the best start. To their credit, the painters did stop working and helped me look for our precious dog. The painting was excellent, wood work was fair, siding definitely o.k. after we received the correct siding material. My bigest complaint was a lack of communication.

Jim Valentine came out personally for our initial discussion, to look at the house and make recommendations. It was clear that he knew exactly what he was talking about. I was very impressed that he was able to give me an estimate on the spot. I had already had another painter come out, and waited two days for his very high estimate. The other company also would not change the color of my house without a significant increase in price. Valentine Painting would not only change the color of the house at no extra cost, Jim helped me choose colors that turned out way better than I ever expected. His crew started on Friday and worked all weekend. They were the most professional, polite group of gentlemen I've ever had do any kind of work on my house. Thorough, meticulous, very concentrated on doing a complete, flawless job. I have to have some interior painting done as well, and there is no question that Valentine Painting will be doing it.

Jim Valentine and his team were amazing! Jim advised me on the perfect colors for my living area, kitchen, and master bath. The work was absolutely flawless and top quality. I was dreading the mess, but they made it virtually painless. There was no mess! The whole project was well-organized. At the end of each day, the team was careful to clean up the site, and were very considerate of my new carpet and furnishings. They were also accommodating, especially with my two little dogs. They started early in the morning each day and finished my project sooner than I expected. They kept me advised of each step in the process. Their courtesy and professionalism were first class. I am extremely pleased and happily recommend Jim Valentine Painting.

I like the quality of work and the clean up the most! Sometimes there was no one who spoke English on the job. I highly recommend this company.

My wife and I bought a house in Eastover and it needed a fresh paint both inside and out. Jim Valentine showed up promptly on the appointed time/day. He was very professional and gave me a quote that day. I took another quote, but Jim's price and his approach won me over. Jim's crew did a wonderful job. They prepared the walls properly and cleaned up every night. The wallpaper job was fantastic. The paper was very expensive and they did a great job with it. Jim measured the space and ordered the exact amount with our interior designer, saving me a fair amount of money by not ordering too much. Jim was great with communication. We spoke often during the work. His forman Wilson was easy to work withas well. Valentine Painting will come back to our house to do additional painting for our nursey this summer. We are very pleased with Valentine Painting.

Jim was very responsive, we signed the contract on Saturday and his team was here on Monday. All of his guys were really good and put up with my toddler and dog who were running around them. They worked really hard, 10-12 hour days. Great attention to detail and fixed any touch ups we noticed. Would definitely use them for any future projects.

Jim was responsive and his employees were punctual, careful, unobtrusive and hard-working. We couldn't be happier with the results or the process. Our house looks amazing -- like a totally different place. We will definitely use Valentine Painting again and would recommend them to anyone.

This is the second time I have used Valentine Painting and both times they were extremely professional and courteous. This particular job was especially important in that the paint had to be matched to the existing trim and the porch makes up the entire front of our home. It looks great!

Great service. Jim's crew went above and beyond. They exceeded our expectations. They even did small things like painting the mailbox that was not on the original estimate.

The project went great from start to finish! Jim Valentine returned my calls promptly and provided an estimate within 1 day of my initial call. His pricing was competitive with other painters I had called for quotes. His workers do a fantastic job and are tremendously hard workers. They stayed late and got both rooms done in one day. In the "above and beyond" category, they fixed a door that didn't shut properly while they were here. They also came back the next day to hang a heavy mirror on one of the freshly-painted walls so as not to have the wall damaged if I tried to hang it myself. I look forward to using Jim Valentine and his crew for future projects -- both interior, and exterior!

I was really pleased with this company. The owner was very professional and responsible which is why I chose him. He indicated to me that he had more knowledge about older historic homes which is important to me because my home was built in 1922. I wanted to make sure the paint job was done right and that everything was done as exact as possible. The work turned out great and I am really pleased with him. He has a warrantee and he told me to call if I found any problems. The price seemed high but it was probably a fair, average price especially because they did repair work as well as paint.

The team at Valentine Painting could not have been better. Jim Valentine provided a quote within a day of our calling him. The painting crew was ontime and very thorough in everything they did. Care was taken to cover all the floors and furniture, and the crew was careful not to wear shoes in our home. The quality of the painting work was outstanding, and the crew did an excellent job cleaning up. They needed to match the paint color since I did not have an original can from when the house was built. The paint they used was a perfect match with other rooms in the house. They were in and out in one day. It's clear they focus on quality, which is something I've not seen in other painting companies. I'll use them for any other painting needs that I have in the future.

Jim and his team are incredible. We recently had some built-in cabinets installed. The cabinets were already primed but needed a final topcoat of paint. We had contemplated painting the cabinets oursleves and had already purchased the paint. However, we really wanted it done by a professional as we were concerned about how the cabinets would look. We called Jim on a Wednesday. He promptly came out the next day and gave us an estimate. He scheduled his crew to come out on Saturday to do the work. They promptly arrived and completed the job that day. Needless to say, the cabinets look wonderful!! Jim's team did a fabulous job. They were very neat and tidy and the cabinets are beautiful! We also felt that the price was very reasonable. We paid $350 and we provided the paint. I highly recommend Valentine Painting. We will definitely use them again!

Jim and the paint crew did an excellent job. They were on time, detailed and professional. Excellent customer experience from the estimate to reviewing the completed work. I will be using them again next year to paint the remainder of the house exterior.

They did a great job. Wilson, the foreman is very nice and accommodating. The entire crew was very nice. In addition to what we agreed to have painted by our contract, they sprayed the window hardware and repainted the bathroom, when I was unhappy with the first color I chose, without additional cost. I have not found a single area in my home that they overlooked or messed up. It is a truly professional paint job. I highly recommend Jim Valentine and Wilson. We will contact them again this spring when we plan to paint the exterior of our home.
