Valentine Painting

My experience with Jim Valentine and his crew was completely positive, from start to finish. Jim answered my initial phone message promptly and arranged to provide an estimate. I was having rooms painted as a surprise for my family, so I was somewhat restricted on when the work could take place, but Jim was flexible and helped me to keep the surprise. The job included painting two large bedrooms and the bathroom in between, including ceilings, walls, and trim. The crew stayed late, but they completed the project in a single day, and the work was beautiful, with great attention to detail. Several weeks after they had completed the job, I began to wonder if the ceiling in the bathroom had actually been painted, because it looked darker to me than the others. Jim answered my message within minutes and sent his supervisor immediately to check on the work. They were very gracious about demonstrating that I was wrong; the dark ceiling was simply a result of the different light conditions in the room. I know that if there had been a problem with their work, it would have been addressed on the spot!

Jim and his team did an amazing job. All involved were always punctual, clean and courteous. They thought through the order of rooms painted so as to make life in the house as normal as possible. It was a minimal inconvenience to have the entire interior of our house painted. The estimate was beyond reasonable now that I have worked with them and know the quality of work that is provided. My husband said that it is the best paint job we have had in a home and we have remodeled several homes. Jim does a final inspection of all the work done and his team corrects anything that he feels needs to be improved. I will be using Valentine Painting for any touch ups and exterior work we need to have done in the future.

Both my wife and I were extremely pleased with the Valentine Painting Company. They were able to complete 7 rooms in our house in one day. The painting crew of 5 was extremely professional. Jim Valentine, the owner, showed up at the beginning of the day with his crew promptly at 8:15 a.m. and reviewed with the painting crew chief what needed to be done. The crew took great care in ensuring that the proper preparation work was done before the painting started. They carefully removed all wall-hangings and moved the furniture making sure that all items in such furniture as bookshelves and dressers were properly secured from any damage. They even removed a stair railing to allow them to paint the 2nd floor hall stairway. The crew was courteous, quiet, and professional. They took instructions very well and were quick to make appropriate adjustments during the day to ensure that all of the homeowners instructions and needs were met. 12 gallons were required to complete the job. 10 gallons were purchased and mixed by the owner in advance of the job and 2 gallons were purchased by the painting crew during the day so that all walls had two properly applied and properly dried coats of paint. The job was completed in its entirety by 6:00 p.m. and all wall-hangings were put up and all furniture that was moved was put back in place. Jim came back at the end of the day and did a full home inspection to ensure that the job was completed not only to the homeowners specifications but also to his high standards. My wife and I would definitely use Valentine Painting again and would gladly recommend them to anyone. They completed the job from start to finish in one day which was a big plus since it was less disruptive on the homeowners. They did an excellent job at an affordable price

I had Valentine Painting paint my interior in the past. This year we decided to redecoorate and update our colors, so we had Jim and his crew back again. We also needed to have some water damage repaired on the ceiling of one room. I had a few estimates beforehand and found them to be in line with two other bids. My wife and I went away over Christmas while the work was being done. We returned to find that the crew was just putting the finishing touches on a great job. Jim was meticulous in looking over the work and found touch-ups that we might not have noticed on our own. He helped us pick ourcolors and we couldn't have been happier. Most importantly, aside from the smell of fresh paint, you would not have known that we just had work done. Everything was back in its place and our home was left spotless. Jim also painted trim and shutters on the outside of our house. He power washed our siding and go rid of all of the mildew. His foreman pointed out some rotted wood on our trim that needed to be replaced. Overall, we were very satisfied with the quality and value of the service this company provides. They are experts in their field and I would highly recommend them.

Jim came over and gave me a quote. He described the whole process and we set up a date to perform the service.

A team of six painters showed up move all the furniture, draped everything and worked painting 10 hours a day for 4 days to get the job done. They were very professional and responsive to our needs. Jim Valentine showed up to get the team started and near the end he came and inspected the work, correcting any areas he felt needed to be corrected. After the job was completed they moved the furniture back into place.

It was excellent. They are a very good firm. I enjoyed working with them. They made it very easy to still live our home while they were working. I got many bids, and their price was very competitive.

we needed to take wallpaper down in our kitchen and didnt want to tacle such a large job ourselves. Got a few estimates through Angies List and hired Valentine ( Jim) painting. Jim spent alot of time prior to the job helping us with color choices and especially finishes for the paint. We picked a date that would work for all of us, and they arrived early the first day and got to work stripping that old wallpaper. I will comment that they particularly careful about sheeting off the areas so dust would not be through my entire house. My husband was at the house during the job I was working. When I got home late that first day, the entire kitchen was stripped, there was not one piece of dust dirt or debris anywhere . ( and this was the just the prep job They had taken down the sheeting ( we have cats) so we didn't have angle around it for the evening. The next day bright and early they came back and worked a 12 hours day to finish it up. I have gotten a lot of compliments on the color and the work.....I tell everyone Valentine Painting! they did what they said they would within the time frame, truly a good job and no mess through my house

Jim arrived 10 minutes late for the estimate but did call to let us know. Once he arrived, he didn't seem interested in the job and went right to work providing the estimate without allowing us to provide much info. He took a total of 10 minutes to look over the area and provided an estimate. When we began going over our list of question, he was short and not willing to answer them, so we let him leave since he didn't really seem to want to be there any way.

I am very pleased with the work done by Jim and his crew. The house is now in excellent conditions and looks great. Jim was very easy to work with. I called for an estimate and he was able to come out within a couple of days of my call. He arrived on time, thoroughly examined the house, and prepared an estimate. He was able to schedule the job in less than two weeks of my accepting his proposal. The work was begun promptly on the day scheduled and completed when Jim said it would be. During the process, Jim was very good with communication, promptly returning calls and keeping me apprised of the progress. I obtained two other estimates through Angie's List and was pleased with their response and estimates. Jim's estimate was somewhat higher than the others, but his proposal seemed to be more thorough and I thought provided a better value for what I was paying. I would highly recommend Valentine Painting to my friends. Jim was punctual, communicated well regarding the project and the work was excellent and completed in a timely manner.

Working with Jim and his team is a shining example of getting what you pay for. Their employees are professional, on time, very careful, easy to work with and above all, deliver an exemplary product. The walls and ceiling in my upstairs study were damaged by a water leak from the upstairs heat pump. Jim's team did a beautiful job in making it all disappear and I am totally satisfied with the results. My master bedroom and bathroom is beautiful and I am very pleased with my renovations. Jim helped me select the color and it is perfect. While I realize Valentine Painting may be slightly higher than some other companies, they are well worth the few extra dollars. The team makes sure the walls are smooth and perfect before they start and they have the right equipment and experience to make sure the application of paint is done correctly. When everything is finished, Jim inspects the work himself and makes sure it not only meets my expectations, but his as well. I completely recommend Valentine Painting and I will be using them again.

Jim came to do the estimate himself and was very thorough. Clearly detailed all work to be done, gave us a time schedule and finished ahead of time. We had this done before we moved into the house, so there was not furniture to work around. But the crew still took great care to protect the floors and trim that was not being painted. The cost was on the upper end of the estimates I received but there's NO doubt that I got the best paint work I've ever had. The workers were GREAT, on time, and cleaned up meticulously. I would HIGHLY recommend that you allow Valentine Painting to quote your next paint project - you won't be disappointed!

Jim put up notices on owners' doors previous to work, letting them know when it would beegin. Everything was appropriately protected, the stairs were painted by halves, so that owners could come and go with ease; the painting was finished within three days.

Jim stopped by the week prior to give me an estimate. He arrived within the the time he stated and was very professional. He asked many questions to make sure that he understood the scope of the job. He provided business cards and insurance information which also showed his professionalism. Jim assured me that, if I accepted his quote, all transactions would be done with him and not a middle man. I did accept his quote and he informed me that he would get with me early the following week (it was a holiday weekend) after he worked out his schedule which ended up being the following Thursday after the quote. I was surprised to see that he was able to get me in so quickly. I thought it would be a few weeks. Jim's team arrived at 8 to begin prep work. What I loved about this company was their thoroughness. They went around ever wall surface that they were painting and fixed all imperfections. There were about 6-7 guys on the job and they were always working. About an hour or so after the crew arrived Jim showed up to verify the paint colors to pick up. At first I was worried that the crew would be sitting around with nothing to do before the paint arrived, but I was wrong. They definitely had things timed out perfectly. The job took 2 days to complete, and it was done wonderfully. After the painting was complete, the foreman, Wilson, walked around and had the crew do touchups on the baseboards (even though they did not paint those for the job), and make sure that lines around the door molding were perfect. About 30 mins to an hour later Jim arrived and did the same thing. It's nice to know that he goes that extra step to make sure that the job was perfect. I would definitely hire this company again.

It went well overall. There was a bit of a slowdown when something didn't dry as quickly as expected, but they worked later to make up the time. They cleaned up when they were finished. I would recommend them without hesitation. Very professional.

Jim's guys did a great job, they pressure washed the home, and did a great job painting the exterior and trim. It was a big job and they did it quickly and efficiently.

Crew arrived as promised and washed all wood surfaces with bleach. Added 2 coats of paint. Replaced all screens as requested. The crew work steadily and cleaned up when finished. Excellent workmanship.

They provided excellent service. I would give them A's all across the board.
