They were excellent and I probably will use them again in the future.

It was such a pleasure working with Jim and his crew. We had the stucco and garage doors painted on our house. Jim and his crew showed up on time, cleaned and prepared the stucco and painted all in one day. Halfway through the job, one of the painters came to our door and asked if we were happy with the paint color. Unfortunately, the paint looked more yellow than brown, so we were not happy. Jim went out of his way to come back to our house and help us select a new color. The crew finished with the new color and we couldn't be happier!

Jim showed up 2 days after he estimated the project. He and his crew arrived just before 7am and worked until 7pm. His crew of 8 came in and invaded our small space and 12 hours later and 2 coats of paint on every requested surface...including our closet, ceiling, walls, trim and doors. The decorator wall runs the length of the condo and we asked for horizontal strips of teal and white. I'm not sure how they made them so straight on an anything but straight wall, but Jim's guys did it beautifully. If we did it they would have been crooked and the paint would have feathered under the miles of tape...but Valentine Painting did an amazing job. Thanks Jim and crew we will have you help us again.

It was a great experience. They arrived on time and finished the job in one day. I had a whole team working in my house. They made sure to cover all the furniture and vacuumed upon completion.

There are not enough great words to describe Jim Valentine and his team of professionals. My home was in need of a great job and that is exactly what I got. Do to delays on my part, I pulled Valentine Painting into the picture 3 weeks before the Open House for my home. With all of the rain we had this summer, my request was a tall order. From the beginning the communication between Valentine Painting and me could not have been tighter. Jim's office staff kept me closely in the loop as to when they could schedule the job. On the scheduled day, the team arrived right on time and went to work scraping the old paint off and prepping the wood. The members of the team were uncommonly professional and respectful of my plants and landscaping. They stayed about 12 hours on the first day and came back the second day, by agreement, on the day of the showing, to finish some small details that needed to dry overnight. Jim, himself, came by about half way through day one to walk the job and to ensure that I was pleased with the way things were going. But the most amazing task performed was on day two I found several of the painters on the ground picking up the chips of paint that they had scraped off on day one. How fantastic. And the job they did sealed the deal on my house which sold in 3 days! Jim Valentine and his company are the very best that there is among painting companies. I will never consider another company other than Valentine Painting for all of my future needs in the Charlotte area.

My wife and I were very impressed with the overall service of both Jim and his crew. Results are excellent. Knowledge and insight was very helpful in picking paints and colors. The crew worked quickly and professionally. The work included painting and chalking exterior windows and the quality of the work was great. In fact, the crew even washed the outside of the windows when they were done. I would recommend Jim to friends and neighbors without hesitation.

Jim promptly came and gave me an estimate upon contact via email. His schedule was booked at the time and we weren't in a rush so we planned the job for 2 months later. He was very professional. I did not even bother to get another estimate as I have used plenty of painters and knew his estimate was reasonable. I didn't put excellent for price but honestly Jim's prices are good for the quality of the work. He was willing to use the no- low VOC paint that I wanted and I chose a color from the color samples he had with him. On the day of the job the large crew showed up exactly when they said they would be there. There was a head guy that spoke English. I believe the job took about 2 1/2 days. It was great to have so many working here as it made it all go so fast. The crew was very respectful of my property and cleaned up every day. After they completed the work Jim came back to inspect and found some areas that I had not even noticed. He sent 2 guys back and they proceeded to even do some trim work that I did not expect and take care of the areas Jim noted! What a lovely surprise. I was comfortable leaving the workers here when I was not home. Great customer service and professional work. I plan to use Valentine Painting for future paint jobs. This is not a fly by night company but a family owned business that takes pride in their work. A true gem.

We have owned four new homes and this is the first time we have painted the inside. We interviewed several other painters, which were cheaper, but was very impressed with Jim and decided to go with him. Everything went just great and we were very happy with the results. Kelly, Jim's wife, kept us informed of the date and time they were coming and they arrived the date it was scheduled. We changed our minds several times on the colors, which Kelly told us we could do until the day they came to paint. Jim and his crew (six guys) came about 8:00 am and began to put down drop cloths over all the furniture and floors. They put clear plastic over the fans and the cabinets in the kitchen and mud room. It took them two days to repair the drywall and paint. Jim told us to wait a few days and he would come back and fix any spots they missed. They did come back and repaired several nail pops that needed to have a second coat of mud and repainted again. Also, they re-caulked and painted the outside trim of the house, which took one guy all day, but he did a great job. He was very careful with all our flowers and shrubs. The guys were very nice and polite and spoke very good English. We offered to buy or fix them lunch, but they already had their lunch and ask to use our microwave. We made them sit down at our kitchen table and eat lunch instead of in their trucks or on the ground. I would recommend Jim to anyone who was looking to paint their house.

He has glowing reports from his past customers. We will be using them if accepted by our other contractor. He is giving us a 20% discount for being an Angies List member. He answered all of our questions. He knows what he is doing.

Great professional painting crew. They were in and out in one day. They covered everything that needed to be covered, they took care of everything from start to finish, checked and double checked everything. When they left it was like no one was ever there, except for the great paint. I will be using them again and would easily recommend them to anyone.

Jim and his crew were excellent. The quality of the work is amazing and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. His team was very professional and courteous. They came in, covered EVERYTHING and did a fabulous job of cleaning up afterwards. What impressed me the most is that the team did quality checks behind each other but Jim did the final inspection, catching things I did not even notice. This was the best experience I have ever had with a painting company.

They did a good job except for some prep work. They should have used wood filler and done some sanding before they completed the job.

The entire project went extremely well - we could not have been more pleased! From our initial meeting with Jim, throughout the entire project and final inspection, our experience was great, the job was completed in a very high quality manner, and we thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim and all of his crew. They were all professional in their approach to the job, were eager to please us, respected our home and possessions, and sincerely wanted to complete the job to the best of their ability. Their attention to detail and overall desire to provide a quality service were evident from early in the morning to late each evening. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim to anyone, and in fact, have several times in the last few months.

I needed a repainting of a significant portion of the interior of my home in time for my daughter's graduation party. I got a few estimates from several painters (based on Angie's List) none of which could complete the work in time. Then I talked to Jim Valentine. Wow. Jim was able to have his three man crew in the next day to start work and completed it the next day with outstanding results at a reasonable price. He was able to take the four paint chips we had selected from the local big box hardware store and match them perfectly with high quality Sherwin Williams paint. The colors all came out great. Luis and his crew were highly professional and did excellent work in a timely fashion. I had lots of settling issues on the walls such as cracks and loose tape as well as a few holes and dents. All damaged walls were repaired well and ended up looking like new. Luis showed lots of extra attention to detail for the entire project such as: 1) adding an extra coat to the dining room walls as needed to bring out the color of the dark paint, 2) painting difficult crevices between trim work, 3) painting the vents in the great room to match, 4) painting the white trim and doors throughout the home that were particularly scuffed. Many times on a project of this sort you may notice problems after the fact - not the case here. Flawless walls radiate with every glance. Very pleased all around with the service. Thanks Valentine Painting for making my home look great for the guests at our party and for my family for years to come.

They kept in contact. They were delayed a couple of days just because they had other jobs. They just kept in contact.

Jim was very responsive to my phone call to set up a time for him to come to my house. Before the appointed time, he called me to tell me that something came up and asked to reschedule our meeting (I was not inconvenienced) which we did. He showed up on time for that appointment. Jim took a great deal of time to walk through our home and he made helpful suggestions. He was very professional throughout the visit. In the end, his price was not competitive, though I was fairly certain he would have done the most thorough job. I would call on him again.

It went wonderfully. Jim, while not the cheapest game in town went out of his way to put me at ease. He explained why the service would cost more than his competitors, and boy was it evident in the work. The day his crew showed up there were holes in the garage walls that weren't there during the estimate from an electrical installation. Rather than just paint as he originally planned he offered to first fix the holes and then paint over everything. Same charge. The crew was done with everything in one day and Jim came by a day later to inspect everything. Once inspected he pointed out some flaws that he spotted and sent one of the crew back the following day to fix it. A wonderful experience!

They were really excellent in their service. A few weeks after they came out, I called them because we had some cracking on the ceiling with the angles and they came out and repaired it. They're good when it comes to responding and they clean up after themselves. I would definitely use them again if I need additional painting.

It went great. Amazing attention to detail

They are the most fabulous company I have ever worked with. Jim and his team were great, polite and clean. They went above and beyond anything I could have expected them to do. Not only did they paint what we contracted for, they touched up all of my rooms that I was painting on my own. They painted far more than contracted and repaired some taping on the wall and prepped everything. I can't say enough great things about them and wish I could find a company like them at my new location.

We found out about Jim from some friends of ours who had a great experience with Jim's team and asked him to come out and estimate a very large 2 story transitional foyer with lots of trim, a need for multiple coats on ceiling and walls, and a number of nail heads and dings to repair. Jim was on time for the estimate appointment, clearly knowledgeable of professional painting practices, a trait not shared by many other estimators we have worked with in estimating this work, and provided (for the work involved) a fair price with good materials as well. Jim is very effective in communicating timeframes for the work, followup on schedule, and his team showed up, to a man, right on time. Jim is one of the few painters we have worked with who really understands professional painting and how to deliver results. Jim's crew works very hard, is clearly one of the more experienced we have seen in Charlotte, and produced great results and did precisely, plus a little more, than we had agreed in the estimate. The crew worked well together and produced a very good result on the first effort which we really appreciated after a couple of very disappointing results with another painter. A review of the work after completion showed what can only be thought of as couple of minor issues and a few more found by Jim on his inspection. These were quickly corrected the same day. After our recent bad experiences with a local company who used subcontracted, inexperienced, and dishonest crews and extremely long punch lists, this was such a breath of fresh air it was outstanding in our opinion. Jim is highly recommended in our opinion.

Jim Valentine is a delightful person to work with. He is prompt and professional, and his team does excellent work. We called Jim to get an estimate for the paint job and after an on-site inspection and discussion with him we settled on painting all rooms except the ceilings, which didn't need painting. The job took two days, and Jim was there again for the walk through when the job was finished. We noticed that the ceiling in the hall had been painted, which was not in the contract. Jim had it painted anyway, at NO CHARGE, because, he said, there was a spot that needed touching up and the touched up area up didn't look quite right with the older paint on the ceiling. That's the kind of attention to detail and professionalism we got with Jim. He also had his men scrape old paint spots off the bathroom tile where the previous owners had not been careful when they painted the walls. That was not part of the contract either, but it again reflects the professional approach and attention to detail that Jim and his crew do. We are completely happy with the job they did and we will not only use his services again, but we recommend him with enthusiasm.

Valentine painting showed up on schedule with a 6 man crew. They began work on both the vanities and front door. Front door was removed and entrance was sealed. Sinks and associated hardware were removed. Both doors and vanities were sanded down to bare wood and stain was applied. They returned the following day and applied the first application of polyurethane. They came back later in the day and sanded. The next day they repeated the process and painted the hallway. The vanities and front door look new. I could not be more satisfied. The painting was very satisfactory and done neatly. I think what made the biggest difference was their responsiveness to two minor problems which arose. The weatherstripping made the front door very difficult to close/lock. They returned the next day and corrected the issue. Also, they chipped a stone on the steps which they also repaired quickly and professionaly. Jim Valentine was a pleasure to work with.
