Valentine Painting

Jim was excellent to work with. I had picked out the wall and molding colors but was not sure what to do about the ceiling. I don't like the look of "ceiling white". Jim recommended that we take 25% of the wall color and use that for the ceiling. It turned out to be perfect! The 4-man crew arrived on time and worked steadily for 2 days. They took great care with my brand new wood floors and there were no breakages of anything. It is amazing to watch this crew paint - they don't use guides or tape yet the lines at the crown molding and ceiling were pristine and sharp. At my request, they left the existing hooks in the walls so I was able to hang up all my pictures immediately after they finished. They were very professional but also very friendly and personable. They cleaned up and replaced my furniture when the painting was complete. My home looks brand new with no brush or roller marks anywhere. When it is time to paint the exterior of my home I will definitely use Valentine Painting again. A wonderful experience from start to finish. I highly recommend them!!

I think it true to say that Valentine Painters are possibly the best contractor that we have ever used. We have had several painting contractors over the years, but none were as professional, as good and as careful as they were. Every day when I drive up to the house I see what a wonderful job they did. All of the work is very precise and complete. Not only did they do a great job of actually painting the house, they were wonderful to work with. They cleaned up each paint site every day-you would not have even known they were there after they left. On the last day, we did a walk-through with the project manager, Wilson. Any item I pointed out was immediately fixed. The next day, Jim Valentine came out to reinspect the work and found items I would not have noticed and had them taken care of as well. I would highly recommend them.

Quoted back in March and contracted to have house end of May/beginning of June. Called to let us know they are coming and performed all required work in a timely and professional manner. We would highly recommend Valentine Painting and were very pleased with the work. Quotation seemed high when compared to others but others failed to identify rotten siding that once contract was signed would generate additional charges beyond my control. You get what you pay for and this job proved it.

Everything went great. Jim's guys know what they are doing and are good at it. I used them once before at our home we sold and had to use them for our new home as well. I recomend them to anyone and will use no other painting company.

Jim was a total pro from the beginning of the process when we met and he walked our home to give us an estimate to the final inspection of his crew's work. Though his price was a little higher than a competing company, I was so impressed with his confidence and his experience that choosing his company was a no-brainer. His crew arrived promptly at 8:00 and went right to work. They moved all furniture, covered everything in plastic, and laid drop cloths on every possible space. The crew leader spoke English and communicated well with his team. They prepped all walls and corrected many imperfections along the way, stopping whenever there was a question to make sure of our wants. During the painting, there was one mistake where the wrong color was being applied, but the crew lead promptly corrected the mistake and the issue was remedied immediately. By 7:00, they had removed all coverings and left. The next day, they arrived and knocked the rest of the job out like the pros they are?and these guys are PRO ! We had asked that they paint all the upper moldings, and the job they did on those moldings was art: clean, sharp white lines through-out. The walls that were once blotchy are now smooth: no paint roller lines, and so, so clean. Everything is sharp and completely covered. In other words: PROFESSIONAL! At the end of the 2nd day, Jim arrived to inspect the work and had some spots re-touched. He went over every little detail to insure that we were pleased and that his guys did a great job. Room-to-room he went, looking at the walls and the moldings not like they were mine but like they were walls and moldings in his own house. Every inch was inspected from multiple angles to make sure things were perfect. Before we purchased this house, we lamented the paint colors and the shoddy painting job that had been done in it, but no more. Their prep work and superior painting skills have repaired and enhanced what was a shabby looking interior. This place pops! We couldn't be happier with the stellar job that was done. I'm so pleased that I'm recommending Valentine Painting to my own mother! Now that's high praise!!!

They were excellent. We were happy because we like Valentine's Day. They were great and super guys to deal with. I had three or four estimates and they were the highest but the quality of the work as well as the reviews I got from Angie's List made us go more comfortable with them. We got what we paid for and we got what we wanted. We called them up because we knew they did some drywall and we needed just a little bit of repair. We asked them if a couple of guys could come outside if they wanted to make some extra bucks and do it. He had them come out here and do it, we had no problems at all. I found them on Angie's List.

It was fabulous. They are a great company to work with. I liked their responsiveness and their quality of work. The price was fine. I wouldn't use anyone else.

They were very protective of floors, furniture, etc. Professional, courteous and punctual. We were extremely happy with all aspects of this project.

Jim and his team did a good job. Jim was very responsive and easy to work with. He listened to all our concerns and was very knowledgeable about his trade. When we asked to have some extra trim painted, after the job had already started, Jim worked to accommodate that request. House was painted during the summer, and the painters did a good job not to make us feel in their way. Only set backs were: the price was a bit higher than the other estimates we received, and toward the end of the project, one of our upstairs toilets overflowed, causing damage to our living room ceiling. Hard to say what caused the toilet to overflow, since it happened when the painters were working, but we were not home. We saw the damage, at the end of the day, and brought it to Jim's attention. He did a good job to resolve the issue, and stayed late with his foreman to insure the ceiling damage was corrected. All in all we were pleased with the work. We did gave an overall rating of "B" versus "A" secondary to the ceiling damage, other than that it was a great experience.

Valentine Painting was very prompt and professional. They protected all of the furniture and carpeting completely and did a thorough cleanup when completed. The quality was top of the line. I would definitely recommend this contractor.

This organization and its owner are top notch. They were very professional and gave great customer service. I needed to have the job finished in 3 days and although it got pushed back a day due to closing mishaps, Jim was able to still get the job done before the movers arrived. I have actually already contracted them to come back in April to take care of our deck as well. I would recommended this company very highly.

Jim Valentine provided us with a detailed estimate for each room to be painted and spent time discussing the pros and cons of different paint qualities and paint vendors. He advised us regarding colors and how to coordinate colors. He generously shared his color expertise derived from his years of painting houses. He was prompt for scheduled appointments and kept us fully informed each step of the way. Several times, before the job started, Jim took time to call in response to my emailed anxieties about colors, schedules, etc. By the time the project started, we were totally comfortable knowing exactly what would happen, when and how. Jim scheduled a large enough crew on the project to ensure that the job would only take five days, during which time, as he warned us, the painters would take over our house. Jim's crew arrived on time each day and cleaned up enough at day's end to allow us access to the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. They used drop cloths on all the furniture and floors. At the end of the project, Jim walked through the entire house with a roll of tape, marking any areas that he thought needed additional attention. He also encouraged us to mark anything that we weren't satisfied with. Following that, three painters returned for a couple of hours to do touch ups. What could have been a horrifying experience, turned into a minor week-long inconvenience. Jim's estimate was a little higher than other estimates, but it was well worth the price. We have friends who have used and recommended less expensive painters; but they also hired someone to come in advance, at an additional cost, to repair all the nail pops, cracks, picture holes, and rough or uneven spots. Jim's crew spent the entire first day of the project doing the repair work before they even started painting. They also removed some unwanted woodwork and plastered the area before painting it. In addition, Jim added crew during the job to ensure there would be no delays in the schedule. Whereas everyone we talked to suffered from longer-than-expected painting projects because one or more painters were pulled off the job, or called in sick, or the job just took longer than expected. We are thrilled with the results and would recommend Valentine Painting to anyone who values quality work.

My experience with Valentine Painting was excellent. They were responsive and showed up when they said they would. The work was excellent, they were clean, quiet (this job was in a business office during work hours), efficient. We would certainly use them again.

Jim Valentine and his crew exceeded all of my expectations! This was a HUGE job and Jim caught on to my vision from the minute he walked in the front door. They converted my house from country/cottage style to sleek and modern in about a weeks time without a blip in the process. I had surgery prior to the job starting and was unable to verbally communicate, which caused me concern that they would miss details, but they did not. I was able to commuicate with Jim 95% via email and he did a second walk through with me and Wilson prior to starting. They took the time to go through the house corner by corner to make sure there were no questions. I have already passed Jim's name on as a referral and wouldn't hesitae to use his crew again for any job small or large. Thank you again for everything!!! You've truly made my vision a reality.

Everything went great from the first time Jim came out to see the work I needed done and give me a quote right through to the finishing of the job. Jim runs a very professional, efficient business and has a remarkably punctual, hard-working crew. I'm very pleased with the way my bathrooms and closets look now and I will be using Valentine again in the future.

Everything went very smoothly, from the time the owner, Jim Valentine, gave me the estimate until he came to do a final inspection. His crew was very professional and talented. The job was finished well before the promised completion date and I could not find one punchlist item that needed correction. Jim was very thorough during the process and very detailed in walking through the work that they would be doing. We provided Jim the address of a house to match the paint colors and scheme. He was able to match the colors perfectly without any help from the homeowners who had not kept any records on the paint used. We relied on his experience and professional opinions to help us navigate through the many decisions needed for the job. Outstanding job! Jim's professionalism, as well as his crews, was a refreshing bonus. This was a large job with high vaulted ceilings and a fair amount of drywall repair work from shrinkage cracking and a poor installation 14 years ago. The job they did was just great! They moved, covered and protected all the living area's and furniture, cleaned up and placed all the furniture etc back to the original placing without any "instruction" whatsoever. We created our own 6 item punch list........ it wasn't needed! When Jim and his team arrived to complete a quality control final walk through, he found many area's or items that in his judgment, "needed more attention". I've spent a lifetime in the construction business, and I've never been more impressed with a painting contractor. We should have expected as much, when Jim came to our home to estimate the job, he spent no less than 1.25 hours inspecting and reviewing the work to be done............ The owner (Jim Valentine) arrived for estimating purposes as scheduled, and provided a detailed quote before leaving. Very professional. Addressed all my concerns. They even purchased the paint and passed their discount savings on to me. The painters arrived at the scheduled start time. They covered ALL hardwood flooring surfaces with drop cloths, and also hung plastic sheeting over entrances to the painting areas, and covered kitchen cabinets, counter tops, etc. The onsite team leader and crew were professional in appearance and very much aware of cleanliness and quality of work. I never expected that much attention to be paid to the covering of all surfaces, since they were only painting walls. An added bonus, no paint spatter anywhere. They patched holes in the walls and sanded all surfaces before painting. They also masked all the vertical trim (casing) edges in order to cut a perfect line in several tight wall/trim spaces of no more than 1" wide. They cut-in along the crown molding freehand, without masking, and did an incredible job. The owner (Jim) and supervisor were there to start the project and the owner returned at the end of the project later that day, to check on the quality of the work. As someone who is a fanatic on the quality of work as I am, Jim was even more critical and checked every square inch of the painted surfaces, redirecting his team leader to touch-up a few places that even I missed. Later, his supervisor performed some quality work installing a couple of sections of baseboard trim and shoe molding. Overall, Valentine Painting is simply the best painting contractor I have ever dealt with. Their finishing (trim) work was also of a high quality as well. The overall experience more than exceeded my expectations.

Valentine Painting did a great job of repairing some holes from the previous owners and re-painting our great room, office and two bedrooms. His crew was professional and organized covering everything to keep the dust down, then cleaning up when they were finished. they worked a long first day and finished on the second day as promised. Color matching to our great room is prefect the office and bedrooms look clean and bright. We will certainly use Valentine painting again and recommend them to our family and friends.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Jim came out initially to give me a quote and also assisted me with the paint color choices. The team arrived on time and were very professional/courteous. The job was completed in one day and the painting was the best I have ever seen. The team was very meticulous in their work and consciousness of our house. The paint choice colors were perfect. Jim came back the next day to review the work and also did a few paint touch ups. Excellent work and customer service. We are planning to have them come back next year to do some additional painting.
