Everything went very smoothly, from the time the owner, Jim Valentine, gave me the estimate until he came to do a final inspection. His crew was very professional and talented. The job was finished well before the promised completion date and I could not find one punchlist item that needed correction. I would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone who needs painting done.

Jim Valentine and Wilson stopped by to review the work and ask questions. Jim gave me the quote the same day and we scheduled the work to begin within a week. Jim was very thorough during the process and very detailed in walking through the work that they would be doing. Wilson and the crew were very careful to protect floors, cabinets, glass and all the surfaces we did not want paint on. Everything turned out fantastic and they were very responsive to the few places that needed touch up during our final walk through. I would recommend Valentine Painting for any indoor or outdoor painting.

We provided Jim the address of a house to match the paint colors and scheme. He was able to match the colors perfectly without any help from the homeowners who had not kept any records on the paint used. We relied on his experience and professional opinions to help us navigate through the many decisions needed for the job. Jim's crew was very professional and responsive to our requests and to address any minor issues. The house turned out exactly as we had envisioned and the crew was both very quick and thorough. I would recommend Valentine Painting to anyone for both exterior and interior work.

Outstanding job! Jim's professionalism, as well as his crews, was a refreshing bonus. This was a large job with high vaulted ceilings and a fair amount of drywall repair work from shrinkage cracking and a poor installation 14 years ago. The job they did was just great! They moved, covered and protected all the living area's and furniture, cleaned up and placed all the furniture etc back to the original placing without any "instruction" whatsoever. We created our own 6 item punch list........ it wasn't needed! When Jim and his team arrived to complete a quality control final walk through, he found many area's or items that in his judgment, "needed more attention". I've spent a lifetime in the construction business, and I've never been more impressed with a painting contractor. We should have expected as much, when Jim came to our home to estimate the job, he spent no less than 1.25 hours inspecting and reviewing the work to be done............ The owner (Jim Valentine) arrived for estimating purposes as scheduled, and provided a detailed quote before leaving. Very professional. Addressed all my concerns. They even purchased the paint and passed their discount savings on to me. The painters arrived at the scheduled start time. They covered ALL hardwood flooring surfaces with drop cloths, and also hung plastic sheeting over entrances to the painting areas, and covered kitchen cabinets, counter tops, etc. The onsite team leader and crew were professional in appearance and very much aware of cleanliness and quality of work. I never expected that much attention to be paid to the covering of all surfaces, since they were only painting walls. An added bonus, no paint spatter anywhere. They patched holes in the walls and sanded all surfaces before painting. They also masked all the vertical trim (casing) edges in order to cut a perfect line in several tight wall/trim spaces of no more than 1" wide. They cut-in along the crown molding freehand, without masking, and did an incredible job. The owner (Jim) and supervisor were there to start the project and the owner returned at the end of the project later that day, to check on the quality of the work. As someone who is a fanatic on the quality of work as I am, Jim was even more critical and checked every square inch of the painted surfaces, redirecting his team leader to touch-up a few places that even I missed. Later, his supervisor performed some quality work installing a couple of sections of baseboard trim and shoe molding. Overall, Valentine Painting is simply the best painting contractor I have ever dealt with. Their finishing (trim) work was also of a high quality as well. The overall experience more than exceeded my expectations.

Valentine Painting did a great job of repairing some holes from the previous owners and re-painting our great room, office and two bedrooms. His crew was professional and organized covering everything to keep the dust down, then cleaning up when they were finished. they worked a long first day and finished on the second day as promised. Color matching to our great room is prefect the office and bedrooms look clean and bright. We will certainly use Valentine painting again and recommend them to our family and friends.

Excellent experience from start to finish. Jim came out initially to give me a quote and also assisted me with the paint color choices. The team arrived on time and were very professional/courteous. The job was completed in one day and the painting was the best I have ever seen. The team was very meticulous in their work and consciousness of our house. The paint choice colors were perfect. Jim came back the next day to review the work and also did a few paint touch ups. Excellent work and customer service. We are planning to have them come back next year to do some additional painting. Great. It looks terrific. There were a few spots I was concerned with and they came back and fixed them so that I was 100% satisfied. They were on time, polite and did a great job.

We hired Valentine Painting to paint the stucco exterior of a house we just purchased. The trim paint was in good shape, so we opted to only have the stucco and garage door painted. Jim was quick to return our calls through the entire process, and gave us a thorough estimate. His price was in-line with other quotes we got and he was able to get to the job quickly. His crew started by pressure washing the house, and went beyond just the stucco and washed the trim, mildew stains from the roof, and our deck without me having to ask and at no extra charge. They showed up on time and worked all day for 2 days to paint the stucco. I was very impressed with the attention to detail and work ethic of the crew. The paint looked great when it was finished. The crew cleaned all of the exterior windows when they were done, picked up their trash, and even scrubbed a couple of dirty footprints off our front steps. I would definitely use Valentine Painting in the future and highly recommend them.

It was such a pleasure working with Jim and his crew. We had the stucco and garage doors painted on our house. Jim and his crew showed up on time, cleaned and prepared the stucco and painted all in one day. Halfway through the job, one of the painters came to our door and asked if we were happy with the paint color. Unfortunately, the paint looked more yellow than brown, so we were not happy. Jim went out of his way to come back to our house and help us select a new color. The crew finished with the new color and we couldn't be happier!

Jim showed up 2 days after he estimated the project. He and his crew arrived just before 7am and worked until 7pm. His crew of 8 came in and invaded our small space and 12 hours later and 2 coats of paint on every requested surface...including our closet, ceiling, walls, trim and doors. The decorator wall runs the length of the condo and we asked for horizontal strips of teal and white. I'm not sure how they made them so straight on an anything but straight wall, but Jim's guys did it beautifully. If we did it they would have been crooked and the paint would have feathered under the miles of tape...but Valentine Painting did an amazing job. Thanks Jim and crew we will have you help us again.

It was a great experience. They arrived on time and finished the job in one day. I had a whole team working in my house. They made sure to cover all the furniture and vacuumed upon completion.

There are not enough great words to describe Jim Valentine and his team of professionals. My home was in need of a great job and that is exactly what I got. Do to delays on my part, I pulled Valentine Painting into the picture 3 weeks before the Open House for my home. With all of the rain we had this summer, my request was a tall order. From the beginning the communication between Valentine Painting and me could not have been tighter. Jim's office staff kept me closely in the loop as to when they could schedule the job. On the scheduled day, the team arrived right on time and went to work scraping the old paint off and prepping the wood. The members of the team were uncommonly professional and respectful of my plants and landscaping. They stayed about 12 hours on the first day and came back the second day, by agreement, on the day of the showing, to finish some small details that needed to dry overnight. Jim, himself, came by about half way through day one to walk the job and to ensure that I was pleased with the way things were going. But the most amazing task performed was on day two I found several of the painters on the ground picking up the chips of paint that they had scraped off on day one. How fantastic. And the job they did sealed the deal on my house which sold in 3 days! Jim Valentine and his company are the very best that there is among painting companies. I will never consider another company other than Valentine Painting for all of my future needs in the Charlotte area.

My wife and I were very impressed with the overall service of both Jim and his crew. Results are excellent. Knowledge and insight was very helpful in picking paints and colors. The crew worked quickly and professionally. The work included painting and chalking exterior windows and the quality of the work was great. In fact, the crew even washed the outside of the windows when they were done. I would recommend Jim to friends and neighbors without hesitation.

Jim promptly came and gave me an estimate upon contact via email. His schedule was booked at the time and we weren't in a rush so we planned the job for 2 months later. He was very professional. I did not even bother to get another estimate as I have used plenty of painters and knew his estimate was reasonable. I didn't put excellent for price but honestly Jim's prices are good for the quality of the work. He was willing to use the no- low VOC paint that I wanted and I chose a color from the color samples he had with him. On the day of the job the large crew showed up exactly when they said they would be there. There was a head guy that spoke English. I believe the job took about 2 1/2 days. It was great to have so many working here as it made it all go so fast. The crew was very respectful of my property and cleaned up every day. After they completed the work Jim came back to inspect and found some areas that I had not even noticed. He sent 2 guys back and they proceeded to even do some trim work that I did not expect and take care of the areas Jim noted! What a lovely surprise. I was comfortable leaving the workers here when I was not home. Great customer service and professional work. I plan to use Valentine Painting for future paint jobs. This is not a fly by night company but a family owned business that takes pride in their work. A true gem.

We have owned four new homes and this is the first time we have painted the inside. We interviewed several other painters, which were cheaper, but was very impressed with Jim and decided to go with him. Everything went just great and we were very happy with the results. Kelly, Jim's wife, kept us informed of the date and time they were coming and they arrived the date it was scheduled. We changed our minds several times on the colors, which Kelly told us we could do until the day they came to paint. Jim and his crew (six guys) came about 8:00 am and began to put down drop cloths over all the furniture and floors. They put clear plastic over the fans and the cabinets in the kitchen and mud room. It took them two days to repair the drywall and paint. Jim told us to wait a few days and he would come back and fix any spots they missed. They did come back and repaired several nail pops that needed to have a second coat of mud and repainted again. Also, they re-caulked and painted the outside trim of the house, which took one guy all day, but he did a great job. He was very careful with all our flowers and shrubs. The guys were very nice and polite and spoke very good English. We offered to buy or fix them lunch, but they already had their lunch and ask to use our microwave. We made them sit down at our kitchen table and eat lunch instead of in their trucks or on the ground. I would recommend Jim to anyone who was looking to paint their house.

He has glowing reports from his past customers. We will be using them if accepted by our other contractor. He is giving us a 20% discount for being an Angies List member. He answered all of our questions. He knows what he is doing.

Great professional painting crew. They were in and out in one day. They covered everything that needed to be covered, they took care of everything from start to finish, checked and double checked everything. When they left it was like no one was ever there, except for the great paint. I will be using them again and would easily recommend them to anyone.

Jim and his crew were excellent. The quality of the work is amazing and I'm so pleased with how it turned out. His team was very professional and courteous. They came in, covered EVERYTHING and did a fabulous job of cleaning up afterwards. What impressed me the most is that the team did quality checks behind each other but Jim did the final inspection, catching things I did not even notice. This was the best experience I have ever had with a painting company.

They did a good job except for some prep work. They should have used wood filler and done some sanding before they completed the job.

The entire project went extremely well - we could not have been more pleased! From our initial meeting with Jim, throughout the entire project and final inspection, our experience was great, the job was completed in a very high quality manner, and we thoroughly enjoyed working with Jim and all of his crew. They were all professional in their approach to the job, were eager to please us, respected our home and possessions, and sincerely wanted to complete the job to the best of their ability. Their attention to detail and overall desire to provide a quality service were evident from early in the morning to late each evening. I would not hesitate to recommend Jim to anyone, and in fact, have several times in the last few months.

I needed a repainting of a significant portion of the interior of my home in time for my daughter's graduation party. I got a few estimates from several painters (based on Angie's List) none of which could complete the work in time. Then I talked to Jim Valentine. Wow. Jim was able to have his three man crew in the next day to start work and completed it the next day with outstanding results at a reasonable price. He was able to take the four paint chips we had selected from the local big box hardware store and match them perfectly with high quality Sherwin Williams paint. The colors all came out great. Luis and his crew were highly professional and did excellent work in a timely fashion. I had lots of settling issues on the walls such as cracks and loose tape as well as a few holes and dents. All damaged walls were repaired well and ended up looking like new. Luis showed lots of extra attention to detail for the entire project such as: 1) adding an extra coat to the dining room walls as needed to bring out the color of the dark paint, 2) painting difficult crevices between trim work, 3) painting the vents in the great room to match, 4) painting the white trim and doors throughout the home that were particularly scuffed. Many times on a project of this sort you may notice problems after the fact - not the case here. Flawless walls radiate with every glance. Very pleased all around with the service. Thanks Valentine Painting for making my home look great for the guests at our party and for my family for years to come.

They kept in contact. They were delayed a couple of days just because they had other jobs. They just kept in contact.

Jim was very responsive to my phone call to set up a time for him to come to my house. Before the appointed time, he called me to tell me that something came up and asked to reschedule our meeting (I was not inconvenienced) which we did. He showed up on time for that appointment. Jim took a great deal of time to walk through our home and he made helpful suggestions. He was very professional throughout the visit. In the end, his price was not competitive, though I was fairly certain he would have done the most thorough job. I would call on him again.
