Crew was polite and prompt. Did a great job of making sure everything was painted to my satifaction

The quoting process was thorough and complete. Final price was reasonable. Actual work included repair of nail pops, sanding and prep of walls, taping, and two coats of paints. Thorough inspection was done by the owner after the work was completed. They cleaned up after themselves. Very quality job. Only minor complaint was that they did not remove two wall sconces before painting. A recent replacement of these sconces left me with some touch-up work.

Jim Valentine, his crew leader Honorio and the two painters did a truly excellent job repairing the wall and ceiling cracks, removing wallpaper, and painting the entire interior of our very old "new" house that hadn't been touched in decades. We triple bid the job and Jim's price was competitive for the job scope. I was very impressed by his responsiveness, too (something I've come to really value in contractors!). The plan was to be done in 6 days. Unsurprisingly, that stretched an extra day and a half. But we had enough notice to find accommodations, and we'd prefer they not rush it and sacrifice quality. We wound up paying a bit extra for more expensive primer they requested, but we were okay with that as the fumes would've been too much for the workers and probably for us, too. We stopped by a few times during the week they were there and were impressed at how quickly and efficiently they worked - I think they were there 10 hours most days, and worked through a holiday weekend to stay on schedule. Two months in and we still love coming home to our new paint job. Thanks, Jim and crew!

Jim was very responsive to any questions or concerns. The painting crew started promptly every day and they were very flexible and painted rooms that accommodated my schedule.

Jim Valentine was prompt, professional and courteous. His men arrived when scheduled and efficiently and neatly completed the work walking with me around the house afterward to insure my satisfaction. Jim also came by the next day to inspect their work.

Jim and crew did a fabulous job. We just purchased an older home and it needed new paint in every room, including ceilings. The foyer had wallpaper that was over 30 years old and it needed to come down. It is also a history of technology and things like the old land line outlets needed to be removed and patched over. The helpful thing for the crew was we were not moved in yet, so they could have the run of the place. We also had built ins that were painted with oil paint and had turned yellow, so those needed to be primed and changed so the paint would stay white. Finally, there were areas that needed patching, covering or just dealt with. I picked out all the paint and I do hope it is the only time I have to paint a whole house. They prepped, scraped, patched and primed and with the first coat I realized that one color needed to be changed to one of the other colors we were using and they made it happen. There were some other changes along the way and Luis, the lead of the three person crew, kept up with all of them and kept a smile on his face the whole time. They painted ceilings, baseboards and all the trim. They did a great job prepping and Jim walked me through the finished project and were able to fine tune some things. This job was a big job and it was worth every penny. We won't have to paint the ceilings again and this house is ready for furniture. Yes, I would hire them for any job large or small. Jim gave me honest information for an honest price and has a great crew and knows his stuff. Thanks.

Excellent! I can't say enough about how pleased we were with the communication from the quote appointment to setting a date for the work to be done and follow-up once completed. The crew was fantastic and very professional in their work. We are delighted with the finished product and certainly recommend Jim and Valentine Painting to others.

The experience with this painting company couldn't have gone any better. The job was started at the time agreed upon and wrapped up early. My husband can't be around paint and the crew even worked on Saturday to get us back into the house sooner than originally scheduled. The crew wrapped everything in sight to make sure nothing was damaged (floors, counter, appliances, lights - everything!) and was very friendly throughout the process. I would highly recommend!

This is the second time we've used Valentine Painting and both times have been great experiences. Jim was very professional, as were his crew, and provided a clear estimate for the work to be done. The painters arrived on time, were very kind, and worked diligently to complete the job. We are thrilled with the finished product and will definitely use them again!

I hired Valentine Painting to do a tough job and they surpassed my expectations. My house needed a makeover. Jim walked the property with me and pointed out problem areas that I was unaware of like rotted wood and loose shingles. He also recommended color schemes, and color placement, like blending in gutters and making architectural features stand out. These suggestions really made a difference in the overall appearance of the home. His crew was neat, conscientious and a pleasure to have around. They wasted no time and they were very careful with plants and moving patio furniture. I felt that the attention to detail was excellent. There were clear stages to the project and they seemed to have a method in place to insure the finished product was high end. I was really pleased with the overall experience and would definitely recommend them to neighbors and friends.

After they started painting the Sofit of our roof, they realized it would take another coat of paint because the wood was much older. I agreed to pay another $1,000+ or 15-20% increase over the quote that he provided so that it would look good. I didn't mind paying this as I told Jim, that I just want it to look good. I figured this would help ensure a higher quality finished product. When Jim came by for the walk through, there were so many touch up spots and other issues, that the house wasn't really ready for a walk through. And, Jim even admitted it didn't look like they put an extra coat on the Sofit, for which I was upcharged. They took care of many of the touch up spots over the next day or two. Jim came by to collect the final payment and we noticed that they hadn't scrapped the paint off the windows like we had discussed either. He had his guys scramble and take care of some of that while I gave him final payment. This is where I wish I had done another thorough walk through, as there are still several windows where the paint was not scrapped off the glass and touchups should have been made. We have also noticed several areas where the lines are not crisp and where paint had gotten onto the vinyl window profile. I thought that they would be using tape so that these lines would be more crisp, but it doesn't look like it. I am still not even sure that they put an extra coat on the Sofit. At the end of the day, I think they did an OK job. From far away it looks great, but the attention to detail up close was not as good as I was expecting. Update:: Jim reached out to me and offered to come back and fix all the issues that I had previously posted about. I revised my grade upwards accordingly, as he was very professional about wanting to make it right. His crew came and spent an entire Saturday fixing all the issues. I agree that the nooks and crannies on an older Dilworth house made it a more difficult job. He really went the extra mile to make sure everything was done to my specifications, and I really appreciate that. Thanks Jim!

We had our large family room, kitchen/eat-in area and small hallway painted prior to moving into our new home. We moved from out of state and were not able to be at the house while services were being performed. Communication was excellent and we were very pleased with the work completed when we moved in the following week. Would definitely use Valentine Painting again in the future!

I really enjoyed my experience with this company. I felt that I received a good value and was very pleased with their level of quality and professionalism. The crew was courteous, clean, and a pleasure to have in my home. It was obvious that they had been working together for years. I had been dreading the inconvenience of having the entire house painted but it went smoothly and on-schedule. Jim gave practical advice about color and finishes which was definitely a plus. They also painted the trim on the outside of my home. Towards the end of the job, Jim and his foreman did an inspection, uncovering issues that only a professional would notice. The end result was a beautiful, long-lasting job. I feel like I bought a new home. I would definitely recommend this company to my neighbors and friends.

We were initially very happy to have Jim Valentine's crew paint our home. He was professional and gave us an estimate in a timely manner. The work was also done in a timely manner. Unfortunately, the quality of work performed by his team was poor overall. We had our entire house painted by his crew over 3-4 days. There were many areas where the paint started to crack (in corners and where the ceiling meets the wall, as well as on doors) within days or weeks. They came back to touch things up, and the problem recurred again. Not sure if it was the paint they used or something else; the house never had this problem prior. There were also numerous areas where we found that they had simply missed painting or forgot to do a second coat. They were fixed after we pointed them out. On top of this, he was one of the priciest painting services we found-- we knew we were paying a premium up front and thus we expected excellent work. Our expectations were no where near met. I would not recommend using his services.

Job well done. Had an upstairs hallway and small bedroom redone. Flawless, completed work within a day. Jim and crew very professional. Will use them again!

We needed three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two large closets to be re-painted. We contacted a few contractors from Angie's list magazine and Valentine painting had the best price. We are extremely satisfied with the job, price and professionalism. They were on time, did a great job, covered everything up, curteous and cleaned up afterwards. I have been extremely pleased with the work of Valentine Painting. From start to finish they are an excellent company to deal with. The owner, Jim, is a perfectionist (as well as a very nice person) and runs his business with great professionalism and integrity. The painting crew is courteous, reliable, efficient and punctual. My house was not an easy job, as it has high angled ceilings, and had stubborn wallpaper that I could not remove myself, among other things. I was having a tough time picking a color, and Jim's suggestion was right on the money. It looks perfect, and I couldn't be happier with it. The job went smoothly and was completed within the predicted time frame. Most importantly, the quality of the painting is excellent, and it has given my home a much-needed updating and facelift. Afterwards, the crew cleaned up very well, and returned all of my furniture and things to their original places. Any necessary touch-ups were taken care of right away, with a pleasant and helpful attitude. There are cheaper painters around, but I would not waste my time contacting them. Having the job done RIGHT means a great deal, especially when it is your greatest investment - your home. I have had many painters in my life, and they are without a doubt the best. I highly recommend Valentine Painting.

When Jim provided an estimate, he gave me very clear expectations of what would be done in each room. The work was promptly scheduled and performed in the time frame we discussed. His crew arrived on time each day.They were extremely hard-working, neat, and professional. I had a few stress cracks throughout the home and they did an excellent job of repairing them using the process that was outlined by Jim in the estimate. The work they did on our cabinets completely transformed our kitchen, creating a brighter, more updated look. They refinished the outside of our front doors and restored them to look better than new. Jim put his professional eye on the job and made sure that the finished product was top-notch. We were really pleased with our experience with Valentine Painting from start to finish. We will definitely continue to use this company for our painting needs. .

Any small business nowadays that wastes an hour of a customer's time to never be heard from again does not deserve to be in business. Jim Valentine, yes, the owner, reviewed interior paint work on January 5th. He was very thorough, recording all details of the job. I even made a point of telling him about a prior experience with a contractor not producing an estimate and how I will not hire that company, as a warning not to do it.? Needless to say, he wasted an hour of my time and I have never heard back from him.? Let me point out that my other estimates are in the high 2000s, so it's not a small job.? There's no excuse for this.? Even if you don't want the work at least have the consideration to be honest with the customer.? All customers, this should be a big red flag to move onto the next contractor.? There's plenty of others who want your business.

This service could not have gone better. I am very impressed with their work. The owner came out the night before and laid out everything the painter would need the next day. I had chosen a color and the owner was very honest about the color. He stated that the color was too dark. He suggested other colors and I am absolutely delighted with the outcome. He wasn't pushy about it but I could tell he really knew what he was talking about. I have had bad experiences in the past and the people working for Valentine Painting were friendly, professional and cleaned up after themselves.

I contacted Valentine Painting for an estimate to paint the exterior of my house. Jim Valentine responded promptly by phone, and within a couple of days in person. He provided a complete estimate, and thoroughly looked over every detail of the house. Once I decided to proceed, he accommodated my schedule, and kept me informed by phone of scheduling updates and changes. His crew were very friendly, efficient, courteous, and professional. They arrived at the exact time he promised, and worked the entire day except for a short lunch break. If they moved plants, or lawn furniture to allow them access to paint, then everything was put back into place before they left. Jim Valentine dropped in from time to time to keep me updated on the progress they were making, and to let me know when they expected the job to be finished. I was so pleased with the outside painting that I asked if they could do some inside spaces. Jim Valentine made the time to come and walk through the rooms, and provided a written, exact estimate. Since this was an add on last minute job, he explained that there would be slight delay of a week or so before they could begin. I respected that honesty since he was already committed elsewhere to complete another job. His crew returned on the date promised and just as they had demonstrated earlier...they arrived 5-10 minutes before their start time of 8am. They worked until 6pm, with only a lunch break, and finished by 3:30 on the final day. They work hard! I often find it unsettling to have workmen in my house, but I can honestly say that Jim Valentine and his crew made it easier than any I have engaged. His crew has a plan, and executes that plan diligently. Their work is impeccable.

couldn't have been happier with this experience. Jim came out and gave a clear estimate and even advice on colors - which I was really stuck on! The crew came right on time and worked REALLY fast and completed the job in one day! Then, Jim came back the next day to inspect, fix up a few issue spots (which I couldn't even find myself, to be honest) and make sure the job was completed well. The house was left spotless, and the work was immaculate. Price might be just a wee bit on the high side, but you get what you pay for, so I think it was worth it. Will be calling them again in the spring for outdoor painting!
