UBG deserves every ounce of credit they get. They are awesome. Always organized. Constant communication. Completely took the burden of a massive renovation off our shoulders (being without a kitchen was enough to deal with) as all major decisions were made before any work started. We had absolutely no surprise hidden costs. Any UBG employee I met was so professional and respectful of our home. After a few traumatizing renovations with other contractors in the past we bit the bullet and spent a little more. Well, case in point---you get what you pay for!

The experience with Ryan in the design phase was great! very friendly & personable and most importantly knowledgeable on the design. The project transitioned to Dean and continued to be great. Great communication & knowledge of process/project. We will recommend UBG to friends! Price was fair for the high quality and what we got. Just more than we wanted to spend originally!

We could not be more pleased with Urban Building Group. We first dealt with designer, Stacy Cormier, and she did a great job for us. Besides the design work, she was always responsive to my many questions, even answering my emails on the weekend a couple of times. Once the work started we worked with Project Manager, Eric Boon. Eric was very friendly, competent and responsive to all of the questions I had for him. There was never one day that I didn't know what was going on with the project. I dreaded this project because of all of the horror stories I had heard from friends about people not showing up, not knowing what was going on with the project, etc. That certainly was not the case with our project. I knew everyday what the schedule was and that was one thing I appreciated most about dealing with Stacy and Eric. I strongly recommend Urban Building Group, and, in fact, I have already give their name to a friend. We are very pleased with our new Master Bath.

We had a great experience, the crew was great to work with, flexible and easy to get a hold of. We had a baby on the way and they worked really hard to work on schedule.

The project started and finished right on time. Urban has an in-house design team, so all selections are made ahead of time (which keeps the project moving). Very professional and provided top-quality work.

We got several quotes on this project, and while Urban Building was not the lowest cost, they were the most professional and gave me confidence that the project would be well planned and executed. They did not disappoint! John and Amy were my initial points of contact for the quote phase. Once we chose them and moved into design phase, we worked with one of their architects (Jaime) and with John. One the project was designed and released into execution we had Dan and Stan as our points of contact. Stan was awesome to work with. Always available when needed, and the project moved along quickly and was well managed. I have been through renovations before and it always seemed like I had to constantly watch and monitor the work being done to be sure it was done to my satisfaction. Not the case with Stan and Urban Building. Their level of quality standards was even higher than mine and I never had to ask for something to be fixed that Stan wasn't already addressing. It was a very stress-free experience and we will gladly use them again in the future when we remodel the kitchen and master bath.

The kitchen expansion in our 90-year-old house was perfection! The Urban Building Group (UBG) produced an outstanding design, flawless project management, excellent craftsmanship and a beautiful traditional space with modern conveniences. The project involved removing two walls; installing all new utilities, hardwood floors and appliances; crafting custom trim, cabinets and stone countertops; and, coordinating all trades, vendors and inspections. All demolition, construction and installation were managed by an outstanding UBG project manager who always kept us informed and was available when needed. The project had none of the usual renovation horror stories: clouds of dust, a messy work site, poor craftsmanship, scheduling issues, unresponsive management, design snafus or unexpected surprises. Simply put Urban Building Group provides professional design and construction services with award-winning results. We give them a BIG five stars!

Our experience with Urban Building Group was excellent! We would not hesitate to use them again for a project in the future. Everyone we came into contact with was very professional, friendly and responsive. Their overall approach to our project was very well-organized and planned and they were terrific in communicating each step of the way. Richard Reinhardt was our project manager and he was wonderful to work with. He was always on top of things, attentive to details and not satisfied unless things were done to perfection. He was always extremely conscientious about communicating what was going on and making sure we were satisfied each step of the way. Amy Kachin was our designer and she provided great guidance and insight throughout the design/selection process. Urban Building is an exceptional group to work with and would highly recommend them!

They were great and professional. We didn’t use them because they were very expensive. They were very prompt and did a very nice write up of what they could do and what it could cost. I would suggest people that they would be a great company to work with if they had the money to pay. They quoted me $150000.

Great job. UBG is a design build firm so the prices are a little higher than if you find a GC to do the work yourself. The trade off is that they oversaw the entire project: drawings, permitting, construction, punch list, etc. One point of contact for everything. Project will delivered ontime, and the only budget overages were driven by us. They delivered exactly what they said they would for the price discussed.

We purchased a ranch home and needed to add a bit more space. We contacted several builders for estimates. Our original plan was to close in the garage and add a second master suite. UBG came to the house and walked through what we wanted to do and offered many suggestions to make the design work better for us. Due to other things going on we had to scale back the expansion and with UBGs input we decided to keep the garage and just add a 450sq ft addition to the house. They changed the design and made several more changes to give us what we needed. They even designed the half bath so it could be a full bath if needed. We did not plan to live in the house as the addition was built but did end up moving in early. The workman were always prompt and area was clean at the end of the day. The project manager, Dan kept us informed each step of the way making it easy to understand their process. We had some other small projects needed around the house and UBG offered us contractor names that could handle those projects as we got to them. We did not have to worry about permits or inspections, UBG took care of all of that. The house was built in the 80s and they were able to match the brick exactly. From the front of the house you can't tell there was any change to the house. And the addition at the back of the house blends right in. The price quote from UBG was a little higher than some of the other builders but we felt VERY comfortable with UBG. Their professionalism displayed in everything they did. Other builders would give us a handwritten quote with little detail and one even said we would have to pull the permit as he wasn't licensed in SC. With UBG's in house designer and architect we had written quotes and plans up front and we did not have to worry about anything during the building. I would hire UBG again without hesitation.

Everyone at Urban was fantastic to work with from the architect to the sub contractors and the owner and our project manager. Took a bit longer than expected but not their fault – good things come to those who wait. Highly recommend for anyone considering any renovation big or small. A++

I called about getting a quote on some work for a garage. Although the receptionist was nice and thorough I never received a call back. I just moved on to another builder.

They were outstanding. They were at the top of the line. You get what you paid for. Their prices were very fair. It was not the cheapest, and it was certainly not the most expensive. You get fair value from them. They were totally responsive. I felt very comfortable with them. Their project manager really stayed on top of what is needed to be done with the subcontractors. He was just here everyday, and he was very personally involved. Our communication was daily. Their workmanship was the highest quality. They were timely. When they say they are going to be here, they are here. They work extremely close with us in product selection with the providers such as marble slates for the kitchen, cabinetry, flooring, and air conditioning. We replaced a lot. They did a great job!

They never responded to my inquiry.

They were the highest bidders and I didn't use them. They have an impeccable reputation. I was very impressed by the people there too, but they just were price competitive. They are used to building people in the east over on fancy homes who doesn't care for the prices as long as it was a really good job. I have no doubt that they have done a really good job, but I went with the contractor who charged $20000 less. They quoted $60000 for the job. I didn't choose them because of the price. If their price would have been closer then I would have probably gone with them. They had great references and great photos of work they had done. I was very impressed with how knowledgeable they were suggesting about how they would approach things and materials. I couldn't justify paying 50% more for the same project with the same scope of work. If it was $5000 more than I would have done that. They are custom doing big projects. They have a work load going on where they didn't need a project, so they kind of high balled me a little bit. They were responsive.

This was our second bathroom project with Urban Building Group. With both, the designer was spot on, the project manager was very professional and detail oriented, and all workers did a very high quality job. Would definitely recommend UBG!

It took longer than anticipated, but this is not unusual for work on an older home.

On time with lots of great ideas.
