He is very knowledgeable about the replacement window industry, and helped to guide us through the no hassle and no pressure sales presentation. He was very patient with us as we made our decisions. EXCELLENT experience with Universal Windows! I still go "wow" when walking in the door. Find the Transferrable Warranty a huge plus for resale down the road. Immensely enjoying my windows and doors --clean, crisp and well insulated. Happy with experience from planning to install! Nathan measured well allowing for an architectural change and voila, perfectly sized replacements! Enjoyed install crew John & Jason -professional, capable and all round nice guys. Shaun G. Came to my house for a quote on several projects for my house including new siding, windows, and doors (I bought a serious fixer upper). He was AMAZING! He sat down with me and went over every detail. He was so knowledgeable and personable it was like talking to a best friend who's also an expert. I love the fact that he was honest about what I really needed and didn't try any high pressure selling techniques. I'm very excited about the work I'm getting done with them and cannot wait to use them again for other services.

It went great! John was very knowledgeable and explained everything to us in detail and was very patient with us in making our decision. We will need additional windows installed and will definitely be calling them further business.

It started off well, the rep came out measured windows and doors and gave us a price for both. He became very hard sell and wanted us to sign a contract that evening, even though we had told him up front that we would not be making a decision until we had all estimates. He finally left and seemed very upset. Ultimately we decided not to replace the windows, but signed a contract to replace the front and back doors on March 2, 2018. We were told they would be in within 6-8 weeks. Almost 2 weeks later (on March 12) they called to come measure and do an materials list -- I thought this was for the install, that the doors were in early. I was wrong, this was the measurement to order the doors. I was upset as they said it would be 6-8 weeks from when the doors were ordered. Finally a manager calls and assures me the doors would be in within the 6-8 weeks from when we signed the contract. Then on March 27 they called again to ask if a 34 inch door for the front would be ok. They said because we were getting 12 inch sidelights (to replace existing sidelights) a 36 inch door would not fit. I asked why were they just letting us know this and what about the door that had already been ordered. Guess what, they had not been ordered yet -- he was just about to order my doors and noticed that the 36 inch door would not fit -- 4 weeks after we had signed the contract! I asked why was this just coming out after 2 different people had measured and each knew what we had ordered, and why when I had signed a contract on March 2, had the doors not already been ordered. Then I asked wasn't there some other way as my husband did not want a 34 inch front door and they said they could order from a different vendor to get smaller sidelights, but of course that would delay when the doors would be ordered and be available for install. Finally I canceled my order and requested a refund of my sizable deposit. I would not recommend this company to anyone - they always had excuses for being late (I didn't mention that they were late for the measurement appointment on the 12th), for the delay in the measurement (they were very busy), but finally could not come up with an excuse why it took 2 weeks after measurement for them to be ordered.

I had Matt Mallas from Universal Windows Direct come out to my home to discuss with me about purchasing windows. He was very knowledgeable about the different types of windows. I was able to choose the right windows for my budget. They have many options for paying for the windows. He measured all my windows, and explained the process of getting my windows installed. I am excited and cant wait for them to be installed. Once my windows are installed I will come back and provide pictures of the completed job.

Excellent experience from the very beginning with the salesman (Matt Mallas) , technician that came and verified window measurements before placing order, to the email notifications alerting us to what the next step would be as we went through the entire process and right down to the two man team (Josh and Kyle) that installed them. We could not be more pleased. The windows are beautiful and very high quality. They make our 30 year old home look and feel brand new and warm! The entire time-frame from purchase to installation was 5 weeks 5 days. And it only took Kyle and Josh 4 1/2 hrs to install them, which included totally reframing where we had a rotted window. Plus they rewrapped all our exterior window ledges to match our vinyl siding and cleaned up after themselves. We have not had one bad experience with Universal Windows of Charlotte and highly recommend them. After seeing the quality of the windows and the professional installation, we are glad we didn’t go with our original plans of purchasing windows from a local home supply chain and installing them ourselves. The tutorial videos make it look easy, but watching the crew with the installation, my husband said there was no way he could have done it, let alone end with the professional looking results. A lot of the time when we hire someone to do work for us we end up thinking we could have done it better ourselves. But not in this case! Totally happy!! And we haven’t even gotten our first electric and heating bill which has to be significantly less. No more cold air seeping in around our windows.

I hired them to tear out 3 walls, install 5 new windows and removing the 10 windows in place. I've had to move my children out of their bedrooms, put down plastic, move furniture away from the walls 6 ft., I've scheduled with a housecleaning crew come threw to clean up after the work. The day of the appointment, they didn't show. I'd confirmed the appointment 3 times and they sent me email confirmation of an 8-10am arrival time; and the project manager simply replies that he "can only apologize so many times", but all their crews were now on other jobs. I have a contract with them. This was supposed to be done by now and he is now looking at either the day before Thanksgiving or more than a month out to reschedule; neither is convenient. This is not A rated behavior. job # 32559 11/18/2017- Talk with production manager last Thursday, he ask if i can have a full crew come out to install on Saturday. i agreed, though i was still upset about Thursday's no show adter 5 weeks of emails for confirmation for Thursday.then, on Saturday, when the crew arrived it is not a full crew it is only 2 men for a project to tear out 3 walls removed 10 windows, and install 5 new windows in one day. No carpenter crew, no drywall crew just 2 men window team, the 2 men team were very kind and trying to reach out to the production manager, upon my request. Nobody in their office answers the phone and i received no call from the prod manager. The production manager is the one who coordinated this install, The installers if they worked all day might informed me they're hoping to get one of the walls removed and a window installed.This job is supposed to be in one day,This is not A rated behavior.

Shaun G. was the bomb, he was less of a salesman and more of a consultant! He answered all of our questions honestly (even when it didn't always make his company look "flawless"). Everything he told us has been true so far, can't wait to get our new windows in!

Matt Mallas came out to our house. He was right on time, friendly, professional, and was friendly to our two children. He was knowledgeable about the product and his competitors. It was the type of customer service you expect and hope for from companies but don't always receive, so well done, Matt!

I just met with Matt Mallas with Universal Windows Direct. I heard a lot of stories about "high pressure sales"; however, i did not get that impression from Matt. Yes he took the time to explain his windows, but not in a pressure kind of way. Had already talked with several other window manufacturers and ended up placing the order with Matt and Universal Windows.

We had a friendly, knowledgeable rep who provided price and financing options. After our windows were produced, the crew came out to install. They were very professional and fast - very little disruption to the household. We noticed the temperature and street noise reduction immediately! Our windows are beautiful.

The company has been wonderful and I especially wanted to thank Matt Mallas who walked us through the process. The warranty is great. I was concerned about screens because I didn't see any in pictures but they were part of the sample Matt showed us. We are so impressed that we signed a contract and called the other window company and cancelled our appointment!

Our Universal Direct windows are great! Greg Douglas and his crew arrived on time, worked quickly and efficiently in 90+ degree heat and cleaned up completely when they were done. One window was damaged during shipping but they had already ordered a replacement. We could feel the improvement in the temperature in the house immediately after they were installed. The insulation, appearance and high quality of the windows are excellent.
