Description of Work: We tried many times to contact & admit we played phone tag some but still it took a bit of time to actually get an estimate. I can't say there is anything wrong with their moving because we didn't experience it, but the price was a little high - we had many estimates. But I would not hold any of this against them as we didn't actually use them. However, getting in touch with them was not as easy as we thought it would be

Description of Work: Moved furniture from one home to another (approximately 5400 square feet, 3 miles apart). Davey is the owner and also participated in the move. His estimate was a not to exceed price and the actual cost came in about 10% less. His crew worked as hard and as quickly as I could hope for. They were on an hourly rate but they never wasted time (was not charged for breaks). Quality was excellent (no damage, items well packed and handled with care). davy's staff were courteous and professional. I would highly reccomend this mover to anybody.

+ -1 moreFrom start to finish, Davy Riddle (owner/operator) was a true professional. Davy returned my phone call immediately to set up a date/time to come see our condo with its belongings in order to give an estimate for the move. He gave us some good ideas on how to pack inexpensively and carefully. His estimate came via email within a day. We set the date, and I had to change the date, which he gladly did with no hesitation. On the moving day, he showed up exactly when he promised and completed the load-up in the same amount of time he estimated. He and his crew (two other men) were delightful – great personalities, worked hard, very careful with our belongings, and very flexible. The maintenance person at our condo told me later that this mover was the nicest and easiest to work with that he’d ever encountered. He and his crew drove up to Durham the next day, arriving exactly when they promised, and unloaded in less time than they had expected. The final cost was exactly what he estimated. I would call Davy Riddle anytime for a move! He’s the best.

+ -1 moreMy sister and I were in a bind about several situations. She needed some final things moved out of an apartment. I needed to switch a double bed located at my house with a twin at my Mom and Dad's home. I also needed some furniture moved within my house. The folks who were supposed to help us backed out. We started calling around on Thursday - needing someone on Saturday! Mr. Riddle answered his phone when I called (I was getting voice mail on most other calls.) He was extremely polite and professional on the phone. He explained his rates. ($100 per hour for the "two strong dudes" and a truck - with a two hour minimum - plus a one time $100 travel fee.) Despite the short notice, Mr. Riddle was able to schedule our move for Saturday. He called on Saturday morning to say they were finished with a job early and to ask if we were available. We were happy to get the job started early. He and his partner arrived promptly at the first location. They moved quickly and accomplished each of the tasks in a very professional manner. They were both friendly and easy to work with. Fantastic job! They managed to do all of the tasks - involving 4 locations within 2 hours. We were very satisfied with the job! This company's motto is "Family Let You Down...Friends can't be found"....That was exactly our situation - and they were perfect!
Description of Work: Mr. Riddle and his partner met us at my sister's apartment. They picked up several items at that location (including a very large and heavy entertainment center). They then followed us to my home. I had recently been painting and some of my furniture needed to be moved back to the proper areas. (The people who had moved it out were not available.) They moved an entertainment center and LCD TV, desk, and a very large and heavy china cabinet back to the wall. They picked up a bed at this location and took it to a third location. There they picked up another bed. We ended at a 4th location where they unloaded all of the furniture.
