+ -1 moreI called Town & Country Fence to get an estimate on how much it would cost to finish enclosing my yard and to install a double gate across the driveway. They provided the estimate in 24 hours. After I hired them, I changed the configuration of the fence, and they provided me with a new quote. I was not happy with the jump in price, so they lowered the cost to $2250. I was happy they were willing to compromise on the price to get it closer to the original estimate.
Description of Work: Town & Country Fence provided an estimate on how much it would cost to enclose my yard.

The installation went well, but when the gates came, we were not satisfied with their appearance. We brought this matter up to the company and they replaced the gates- no problem! We were happy.
Description of Work: We had them install 35' feet of 4' high steel fence that looks like wrought iron. They installed two 5' gates that meet.

+ -1 moreIt was very good as far as the professionalism. My yard is very odd shaped. I would use them again. I would recommend them again. The only problem I had was that they did not return my phone call promptly. 10 Months later we lost power. When the power company came out, they said it was because Town and Country placed a fence pole on the power line. The power company said it was very obvious what they had done. I lost all the food in my refrigerator. When I contacted Town and Country they said they would split the cost of the electrician, but they never followed through, even after a second phone call.
Description of Work: They came in and did fencing for me. The put a brand-new fencing system around my large yard.

Called the company to schedule an appointment, we had to wait until we closed on our new home but was able to get a sales rep, Brent, to see us the afternoon of our closing. Brent was very good at listening to us and helping us decide what we wanted to install. He gave us a quote during his initial visit. We had other fence companies come in to give estimates but Town & Country Fence had the best price and we felt the best quality, so it was an easy decision. When it came time to install the fence, two men came to do the work. I met with them in the morning to walk through what we wanted, and then let them do their work. By the time I came home the fence was done and looked awesome. All posts & gates were exactly where we wanted, they had followed the directions on how I wanted the old fence disassembled, and left our lot in good shape. We have already received many compliments on the new fence, it looks beautiful.
Description of Work: Installed a black aluminum fence in our backyard. Partially removed a white vinyl privacy fence put in by previous owners.

Our back yard is very uneven and they had warned us up front that we may have some gaps under certain areas of the fence. The installation exceeded our expectations. They did a great job minimizing any gaps due to the landscaping. Very professional.

+ -1 moreCalled three fencing companies from Angie's List. One never returned call, second was more expensive than Town & Country. Came out and gave estimate promptly. Scheduled work and they arrived on time. First crew did not do a professional job. Called Town & Country and they came out and agreed that job was poor. Sent second crew to redo the work of first crew and they did a great job. Although we initially had trouble with them, I was impressed with how they handled my complaint and their willingness to do the job right. I would use them again.

+ -1 moreTown and Country repaired/replaced several warped posts and pickets on my wood fence in late 2006. The concrete they used to secure two of the posts subsequently broke apart and the fence began leaning noticeably in late 2007. The company came out to look at the fence and declined to fix the posts, and declined even to offer me a price to fix them, claiming that since they didn't originally install the fence they didn't want to "open a Pandora's box of problems". It is true they did not install the fence originally, but the problem was with their repair work, and I was not asking them to fix the posts for free, though that would have been a welcome gesture. I also asked them to re-do the double gate which had warped and install a new locking mechanism, and they declined to bid on that work as well.
Description of Work: Performed repairs on wood fence/subsequently declined to fix problems with their repair work.

+ -1 moreWork began 2 weeks after the contract was signed (in line with their estimation). Billy and his son spent 3 days tearing down the existing fence, digging holes, installing posts and ballards (heavy concrete reinforced steel cylinders sunk 3' into the ground and 4' high above ground) and nailing up the individual boards. They were both easy going and very personable, really enjoyable to speak with. They worked hard, cleaned up all their construction debris and insured that the final product was exactly what we signed on for, even taking me on a final walk-through when the job was done. I was very pleasantly surprised with this company; the customer is important to them. Their positive reviews on Angie's List are here for a good reason.
Description of Work: An automobile came through our 6' privacy, wood fence, knocking down fencing, damaging a deck, and sending over 250 pieces of wood through our back yard like an IED explosion, also breaking a grill and solar lights and tearing up turf. We wanted the entire 129 feet of fence to be replaced and ballards installed every 8' behind it to further protect us from potential injury next time. Brian Sanford, Jr., arrived the day after our request for an estimate, spent time with me to understand exactly what we wanted and had an estimate to us in 36 hours (one for the insurance company to simply replace the damaged portion and one for me to cover the entire replacement and upgrades). That's different from Action Fence and Matthews Fencing who never even returned our call for an estimate and Allison Fence who never got an estimate to us after over 3 weeks of discussions after a visit. Brian and his company, on the other hand, was responsive and timely throughout the entire business transaction.

Town and Country came in the middle in terms of pricing and due to their reputation and the fact that they have experience in installing on a slope, I selected them. Greg was my point of contact and he was VERY patient and honest. I know I drove him crazy as I had him provide me with at least five estimates for various heights and styles. I wanted wider pickets and he modified the fence style I choose and it is exactly what I wanted and visualized. The crew did great job and I could not be happier with the work that was performed. In fact they day of installation I could not be home at the last minute. I let them start the work; they installed the posts and I could not believe the great work they did it was so neat. They were professional and on time. They arrived exactly on the day that Greg and Luanne promised. One final positive is that I paid exactly what was estimated.
Description of Work: Town and Country installed a 214 feet of a modified 5 ft. white PVC (vinyl) fencing.

+ -1 moreWe wanted a fence installed around our backyard prior to moving into our house (work done in Mar07, we moved into house Jun07). Kenny came out to measure the yard and consult with me on where to place posts, attach to house, work around landscaping, etc. He was very knowledgeable and professional. Once my husband and I agreed on the estimate, we paid a $2000 deposit to book the job. Since I was unable to be present the morning that they wanted to start work, I asked Kenny to be present to give the workmen (Will and David) the exact instructions. The fence ended up looking great, but a huge fiasco was that the workmen ended up puncturing a sprinkler system hose, causing a lot of flooding and costly water bills when the sprinkler system was run by our decorator (to keep the yard looking decent until we moved here). Then we had to pay $900 to get that irrigation line fixed.
Description of Work: Installed aluminum fence on 3 sides of our backyard, attaching to our neighbor's fence line on 4th side. Installed 2 five-ft and 1 four-ft arched gates.

+ -1 moreBrian promptly called to schedule the appointment for the estimate. He was on time and happy to meet with my son when I couldn't get away from the office. We had a special need of fencing with tight pickets because we have very small dogs. Brian even made an additional trip out to drop off a sample of the fence. Once we approved the estimate I called LuAnn who took my deposit over the phone and scheduled the work for the next week. Because of a cancellation they were able to come a day early. The crew was very efficient, hard working and friendly. I had ordered two 4 foot gates and one 5 foot gate. They were out of stock on the 4 foot gates so an additional 5 foot gate was added at no charge to me so that the fence would be enclosed and usable. The work was completed in one day except for the interior gate. They came out within two days to install it. I did get two other estimates but went with Town & Country because their estimate was cheapest and they had the fence in stock.
Description of Work: Approximately 160 ft. of aluminum fence with 3 gates installed.

I went with this company because Kenny was very personable and was very knowledgeable about what could be done. After getting HOA approval, Kenny came back out and we finalized the paperwork. The work crew was back out there the next week and completed the job in 2 days. 2 guys actually put up the fence and they were very diligent and friendly. My fence came out better than I expected and have gotten several compliments from neighbors. I highly recommend this company to anyone looking to build a fence.

I asked him for his opinion before I called for an estimate, and my husband didn't have any input. But it was after I got the estimate that my husband finally voiced his opinion. I hated to have someone come out and give an estimate (spending their valuable time) when my husband could have spoken up in the first place. Anyway, I give this company a thumbs up. Their quote seemed fair and reasonable and they have an excellent reputation.
Description of Work: Kenny came out and gave an estimate on 85 feet of 4 foot tall black vinyl chain link fence, with two 5 foot wide gates, completely installed by Town & Country Fence. Good experience with this company- polite, on time, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly.

They were very flexible on a start date, being our HOA dragged their feet in approving the fence, and they completed it in 2 days despite our ground being like concrete. The fence looks excellent, the wood seems good quality, no big splits, warp-age, or anything like that, very uniform. Good job.

It started off rocky with walking our lot with Greg he indicated we would have to hire out a separate contractor to clear a path for them to build the fence. This resulted in me calling the first two contractors on Angie's list and having additional bad experiences. After those experiences I called Greg back and realized we had a communication issue initially and they were willing to work with me on the fence line. So, with them being a heck of a lot cheaper, I went with them. The crew did an outstanding job and I'm extremely happy with my fence! I wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Although I would ask to initially speak with a different sales rep besides Greg to avoid any potential confusion.
Description of Work: They installed approximately 500 feet of split rail fence. Half of our lot was heavily wooded. They worked with me to go around trees when necessary and worked diligently throughout. The front of our lot facing the road was a split rail fence.

+ -1 moreI'm tired of people coming to my house and going through a wish-list of what I want, showing them around, etc. and NOT even getting an estimate or any follow-up contact. Met with the owner's son, Brian. Nice enough guy, assured me that the automated gate we wanted was not cost-prohibitive. It was Thursday, Aug. 16th when we met. He told me he'd e-mail an estimate by Monday, Aug. 20th; however, it is now Aug. 24th and still haven't heard anything. Guess we're just not that important.
