Description of Work: I referred Tom to two of my neighbors despite my less than wonderful experience with him in 2006 because he seemed like such a nice guy. When I recently called Tom to refer yet another neighbor this is what happened: I said "Hi is Tom there this is ___, and I would like to give him a referral." His wife answered and yelled at me "don't ever call here again" and then slammed the phone down. I found this very disturbing at the time, but now understand they must have seen the report I made or were unhappy that I had referred others. I would highly recommend H&S roofing who just pulled off the flat roof that Tom did and re-did it. It slowly leaked for the past two years due to subpar workmanship and has completely rotted out my fascia boards. I would highly NOT recommend Tom Bourdon, who may be doing business under many different names.

+ -1 moreTom was hired to do slate roof repair on my roof back in November. He does business under Thomas roofing, Hurricaine Code Roofing and Restoration Works. After several weeks of work, Tom disappeared for a week while my roof leaked. Since then, my flashing has leaked several times causing damage, he has failed to complete work I have paid him for, left my yard full of trash, and threatened to damage my roof. Tom is very unprofessional, temperamental, unreliable, untrustworthy and very difficult to work with. The following is a list of things that went wrong: -missing slates behind chimney, -leaking flashing, -missing drip edge,-failure to clean up trash and debris, -did not pressure wash chimneys, -improper installation of ridge vent, -missing flashing on dormer.
Description of Work: Tom Bourdon was hired to do slate roof work on the following: -reroof 2 flat roofs (1 porch and 1 dormer), -2 chimney flashings and pressure wash chimney's, -1 dormer flashing, -2 side roofs, -repair all broken and damaged slates, -replace all ridge vents with new copper vents.

+ -1 moreOverall, I would recommend him for tile or slate, but not flat roofs. I have never used him for shingle work. He seems very knowledgeable, but the flat roof leaked after he left and I had an incredibly difficult time getting him to come back and fix it. When he finally came back he was there less than 2 hours and I'm not yet sure how long the repair he made will last, since he just recently completed it. He says he has a five year guarantee against leaks, but he is very difficult to get back out on a the guarantee work. On the other hand, he's one of the nicest guys you would ever want to meet and is extremely polite and talkative. He does all the work himself, and doesn't contract it out. However, I would use him again only for my slate roof, due to the experience with the flat roof.
Description of Work: Tom repaired my flat roof which was leaking due to previous faulty work from another contractor. He assured me he could remedy the problem with my flat (rubber) roof. He also repaired the broken slates on my garage. The slate work was very good quality, but the flat roof work was not as good. He did the work in a timely manner.

+ -1 moreHE IS PROMPT, HE TOOK AN EXORBITANT AMOUNT OF TIME TO ANSWER ALL OF MY QUESTIONS. HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND HELPFUL, I KNOW MORE ABOUT ROOFING NOW THAN I EVER WANTED TO KNOW. HE IS VERY THOROUGH AND ATTENTIVE TO THE DETAILS. HE DOES THE WORK CORRECTLY. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, HE IS A VERY GOOD WORKER AND DOES EXCELLENT WORK. HE ALSO CALLS TO FOLLOW UP AFTER DOING THE WORK.
Description of Work: ROOF REPAIR FROM ICE STORM DAMAGE.
