Steven did a great job, and it's been great to get all the compliments on our back yard. Steven was easy to work with and did a great job helping us to refine our vision into something workable, giving us advice rather than trying to push a particular standard design. Most important, the grading and drainage are perfect, clear work of a pro. Steven was backed up with work, as most high quality contractors are, so it took a few months before he could start our project, but I can attest that it was totally worth the wait to have this caliber of work done. I would highly recommend Steven.

Steven was very responsive and open to working with the design we had. He explained the work they would do. We discussed options and changes until we arrived at the final plan. Once the work started he was great at keeping me informed of the progress. The work is very professional with great attention to detail. We would definitely work with Steven again!

The ditch had over the years become shallow. The original stones were buried & the sides were gone. As a consequence, when it rained, the ditch became unable to handle the rain & overflowed into my natural area. Stephen came out & said he would dig out the ditch & build up the sides with additional stones. He told me that since my job was small, he would fit me in between his larger jobs. Stephen & his men came within less then a week & completed the work in 2 days. They were prompt & did a great job. After completing the job, Stephen, on his own, reduced the price because they needed less new stones to complete the job. I strongly recommend Stephen & would use him again.

First things first. I mentioned to Steve that I was either going to replace the entire retaining wall or simply have relatively minor work done. Steve put absolutely no pressure on me to go for the much more expensive. His work was professional by any measure. The steps in the garage were critical in that my wife has fallen on occasion recently. The steps look great and are perfectly horizontal. As for the brick pad to the basement, the quality of work (to include providing a sand foundation) was outstanding. Finally, Steve and the mason with him cleaned everything up. In all respects I could not have been more pleased in the work done. We may still replace our brick retaining wall (70' in length and 4' tall) and if we do, Superior Hardscapes will land the contract.

Great! The wall was quite extensive and located at the back of the yard with poor access. Steve was very careful to have the wall meet local codes and professionally engineered. Anytime there was a chance that something might not turn out the way I wanted, he always stopped, explained and provided several options. Steve and his crew were always very professional.

After the initial contact and estimate was provided, Steven provided us with the name of his supplier to view potential materials. Once the materials were chosen a quote was provided based on the cost of the product. Design was fairly simple, or what we thought, but with Steven's guidance and experience he was able to guide us through our questions and provide suggestions which made the outcome better than what we imagined. Steven told us when we initially signed with him how far out his schedule was, which we were fine with, and he hit the timing almost exactly. As we came closer to beginning the project he came out to go over the final details and during the install was in touch with us each evening to answer questions. Installation took four and a half days, and when he and his crew were done they cleaned up the entire area. He even spread the dirt that was excavated for the foundation of the patio to level the back yard. Steven was very professional, has a good eye, and is a perfectionist. We thoroughly enjoyed working with him, are thrilled with our results and highly recommend him.

Steven and his crew are booked up due to the quality work they do and the fact that Steven is on every job. He's not just checking in, he's there side-by-side with his crew making sure it's done correctly. He told us right from the start, before he even came out, that he's generally booked up about 3 months in advance. We decided to wait for him and we're glad we did. Steven came out, we discussed the job in detail but gave Steven some creative license due to his expertise. We're glad we did because he came up with some suggestions that we would not have thought of. He gave us a detailed written quote and we agreed to give him the job. His price wasn't the lowest but it was competitive. About 3 months later, they started the work. At one point, after the initial path was completed, we had a drainage issue due to the hill the path was on. But with one phone call Steven was out on site and got the issue corrected right away. We liked what we saw so we even added lighting and boulders to the job. I feel his integrity and some of the little extras he did for us really added value. He installed some of the flagstone steppers and gravel around our AC units, which was not on the original job and cleared out the woods with his Bobcat at my request. He did everything with a smile and a sincere, genuine positive attitude which was refreshing.

We couldn't be more pleased with the end results. Our patio is AWESOME!!! Steven's design is unique. He was responsive to our wants and needs for this project so we achieved the exact look we hoped for. Our patio is the first thing our neighbors and visitors remark about. Steven provided excellent insight to the design of our paver/slab patio that was appropriate to the layout and structures in our backyard. We liked his vision for our patio more than other contractors we had interviewed. His crew was punctual each day of the job. He and his crew took extra care to protect the buried cable in the yard, protect the shrubbery and common area, and the newly built screened porch. They worked safely with their machinery. The crew worked clean and was sure to leave the site neat and organized at the end of each day. All the guys in the crew were courteous and professional. They clearly took pride in their work. Steven accurately estimated how much supplies would be needed to complete our project. The craftsmanship and attention to detail resulted in an outstanding result.

The owner, Steven, and his crew were a pleasure to work with. They showed up on time (or early) each day and went right to work. They had to remove an old, cracked concrete patio, and address drainage issues before they could install a new paver patio. The job took 3 days from start to finish, and we are very happy with the finished product. The patio turned out beautifully. We plan to have Steven come back and add sod around the patio area where we have been having trouble growing grass. When Steven came out to give us an estimate we found him to be friendly and knowledgeable. We got the impression that he takes great pride in his work. He told us upfront that it would take about 2-3 months before he could fit us in, and that was fine with us. It ended up being about a 2 month wait, but was well worth it. He was responsive whenever we had questions, and easy to work with. We would not hesitate to hire them again.

Steven Gillard and his crew arrived on the scheduled day, went right to work and were very professional. The entire job took about 3 days. The owner, Steven Gillard, was at the job site several times during the work. Upon completion we toured the work with him. My wife found one area that didn't seem to be as well done as the rest. Steven agreed, had that section torn out and rebuilt. We were fortunate in getting Steven to handle this job. He specializes in very large (and expensive) projects and photos of some of this work shows the attention to detail he and his crew have. We happened to catch him when he had a few days of down time and he used our project to keep his team busy.

We are so pleased with our back yard. The hard scape is beautiful, and Steven and his crew do high quality work. He completed the last half of the work while we were on vacation, and the yard we came home to was stunning. Steven was easy to work with and good about communicating with us as well. He always got back to us within a reasonable amount of time. He respected our existing plans while making suggestions to help make them more beautiful. We had to wait a long time (a few months) for work to begin because Steven had so many jobs lined up before ours, and the job was completed considerably later than expected, largely due to weather delays during the winter. Still, the end result was worth the wait. For a patio and yard that we will enjoy for many years to come, having it completed behind schedule is not that big of a deal in the grand scheme of things.

We are very pleased with the final result. Very prompt and professional. Good at giving advice and getting the job done well but quickly. We would definitely use again with zero hesitation.

Steven and his crew were great. Fit me in between big jobs! They were careful to not tear up the yard to bad. Overall very pleased with the service provided. Would Highly recommend.

It went well. Was told he had a long waiting list, but if something opened up he could probably knock my project out quickly. Sure enough about a week later somebody canceled and Stephen was able to fit me in. Took about 2 days to do. The quality of the work is superb and they were in an out very fast. I knew when I met with him that he knew what he was doing and had done many similar projects. He provided many examples of projects that I used to pick the pattern and colors.

Mr. Gillard did excellent work in both removing the old patio and installing the new one. There were the usual surprises in demolition, which were compounded by the severe Winter weather of 2014. Nevertheless, the patio was installed in good order. He also added new soil around the patio so that it blends with the existing lawn. Furthermore, we had arranged for a border on the patio with a different color, which Mr. Gillard also applied to the topmost stair, nicely unifying the entire structure. This was not in the original design, but was a valuable enhancement. Mr. Gillard only uses quality materials, including crush stone and polymeric sand, which sharply reduces settlement and future maintenance. His team of workers cleaned up after every day's work and left everything in good order on completion of the project.

Steven and his team did an outstanding job. They were very professional, punctual and delivered an outstanding product. The price was exactly what was quoted and the project was completed in the timeframe that was quoted as well. We will use Superior Hardscapes again in August 2015 to build another retaining wall to span the entire backyard. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have any hardscaping work done to their property.

A nice guy that is really good with what he does. He was very professional, very meticulous. It's nice to see that kind of integrity in contractors because you never know what you're going to get. Very punctual. He really cared that what he and his workers did was what was good for me. I was very pleased with what he did.

Steven and his crew were great throughout the whole process. He was very upfront and honest while quoting us and also very friendly. We had got numerous quotes from other companies and not only was his quote on the low end, he seemed to be the most genuine and honest. Overall we felt good going with his company. They did not disappoint. His crew came and quickly got the job done. I say quickly as they were very efficient when they were working. Unfortunately rain delayed the completion for about a week, but had it not it would have been a quick 2 day project. After the patio has been completed, Steven is still always available to take our follow-up questions and concerns. Our grass service accidentally ran over our new patio with their aeration machine and caused about 10 paver stones to be damaged; Steven agreed to replace them at a very cheap cost. Overall his customer service, efficiency, value, and product were all very impressive. We are extremely happy with our new patio and would definitely use Superior Hardscapes again. instr

There are not enough wonderful things I could say about Stephen and his crew!!! The drive looks amazing. The design was done to fit into the historic neighborhood I live in and the constraints of a small space. What was impressive about Steve is he treated my small driveway job the same as a large job. He was always attentive and professional. The craftsmanship exceeds all expectations. The team was also very considerate with clean up, dust, and ensuring minimal disruption to the surrounding area. I have already asked him to put me on the schedule for March for the backyard. I would recommend Stephen and his crew hands down, above all! As a side note, I met with 5 hardscape companies before selecting Superior Hardscapes.
